390 A Warm Welcome
Once the Bai siblings had packed up, the three of them headed to Zhang’s residence together.
Both Bai Qi nor Bai Xi Xi did not bring along a lot of stuff. Their stay at the residence was going to be temporary. Once Zhang Li Xue was getting better, then the three of them were going to move to the apartment again.
Moreover, the apartment was quite close to the hospital. Bai Qi thought that it would be better to leave some stuff over. This way, he could return whenever he had a short break from his shift.
The moment they arrived, Li Qin Yao greeted them at the entrance along with the other members of the family.
Bai Qi looked at the warm scene in front of him and understood that everyone was giving him and Bai Xi Xi a warm welcome.
“You guys are here,” Li Qin Yao spoke. She ushered them into the house and watched as Bai Qi pushed her daughter’s wheelchair in.
Although she had already seen the red certificate that her daughter had posted to the family’s group, Li Qin Yao was still anxious. Before she could ask about it, her father-in-law had already spoken.
“Li Xue, let me look at the certificate,” Zhang Xi spoke.

.....
The moment Zhang Xi held the red book, the others began to come closer to look at it as well. Seeing the newlyweds’ faces in the book finally put their minds at ease. Everyone was praising the couple’s good look in the photograph.
Li Qin Yao walked over to her daughter and hugged her tightly. “Li Xue, congratulations.” She leaned over and kissed her on the cheek. Then, she turned to her son-in-law and smiled, “Bai Qi, congratulations.”
Bai Qi touched the tip of his nose shyly. “Thank you, auntie.”
His words made Li Qin Yao raise a brow. “Still calling me, Auntie?”
It was then that Bai Qi realized that he had made a mistake. “Mom.”
The smile on Li Qin Yao’s face brightened up. She stretched out her hand and placed a red packet in Bai Qi’s hand. “This is from mom and dad. Bai Qi, you are not allowed to reject it.”
Hearing her words, Bai Qi could only hold the red packet tightly. “Thank you, Mom.” He could feel that the red packet was quite thick.
“Your dad is in his office, dealing with some work matter,” Li Qin Yao said. “Bai Qi, Xi Xi, the two of you should go and settle down first.” She turned to Zhang Li Xue and continued, “Your aunt and the others will be arriving in a few hours. Tonight, let’s have dinner together and celebrate.”
The others naturally did not have any rejection of this arrangement.
“Li Xue, you should take Bai Qi to your room and let him look around,” Li Qin Yao spoke.
“Un. Mommy, I know.” Zhang Li Xue nodded.
The auntie took the luggage from Bai Qi and brought it to Zhang Li Xue’s temporary room.
Then, Li Qin Yao turned to Bai Xi Xi and continued, “Xi Xi, let’s go with aunt first. I already tidied up your room a while ago. Let’s see if it is to your liking.”
Bai Xi Xi glanced at her brother. Once she saw him nod, Bai Xi Xi then followed Li Qin Yao and headed upstairs together.
While they were climbing up the stairs, Li Qin Yao continued to talk to Bai Xi Xi about her bedroom.
Once his little sister had left, Bai Qi turned to Zhang Li Xue and helped to push her wheelchair into her bedroom. He closed the door behind him before he helped Zhang Li Xue out of her wheelchair and carried her to the sofa.
Bai Qi heaved a long sigh as he look around the big room. He realized that this year, he has been moving around a lot.
After a while, his gaze finally stopped at his wife. Seeing Zhang Li Xue’s smiling face made his tiredness disappear.

Yesterday, Bai Qi was still on duty. Today, he had to wake up early to pick her up and headed to the Civil Affairs Bureau together. Seeing his tired eyes made her heart ache.
Zhang Li Xue straightened up her body as she sat on the sofa. Then, she patted a spot on her thigh. “Why don’t you take a break for a while? You can always unpack your stuff later.”
Bai Qi looked at his wife for a while before walking to her side. He sat down and laid his head on her lap. His movement was cautious. Zhang Li Xue’s leg was still injured and he was afraid that he would hurt her. “Is this alright?”
Zhang Li Xue laughed. “Un. It’s alright.”
Seeing that she was not in pain finally made him feel more at ease.
Bai Qi lay on the spot and looked up to meet Zhang Li Xue’s eyes. Seeing her face made him smile.
This was too good.
From today onward, he will be able to look at his little fairy’s face each time he wakes up in the morning. Just thinking about it made his heart feel as if it was going to burst with happiness.
Zhang Li Xue put her finger on his forehead and began to trail it along his face. Her touch was a little ticklish. But Bai Qi did not mind them a little bit. He actually liked the feeling of her soft fingers against his skin.
The two of them did not speak a word. Just staying silently like this was enough to make them feel contented.
Perhaps it was because Bai Qi was too tired or perhaps the way she was caressing his face made him sleepier. In just five minutes, Bai Qi fell into a deep sleep.
Zhang Li Xue stared at his face and whispered his name a few times. Seeing that he did not answer, Zhang Li Xue was sure that the man had fallen asleep.
Her lips turned into a helpless smile. Zhang Li Xue continued to stare at him for a long time while tracing her fingers on his face. Then, she leaned over and pecked at his lips.
