58 You Two Know Each Other?
Zhang Li Xue called her brother and told him to meet them at the cafeteria.
The moment they entered the cafeteria, a few of the senior doctors and professors walked over to Qi Zheng, wanting to discuss with him some work matters.
This was not the first time the Zhang siblings had come to visit their uncle and Qi Zheng’s co-worker had gotten used to seeing them.
Zhang Li Xue lined up at the counter with her brother to choose their food. From a distance away, she could already see her favorite chicken wings.
The cafeteria’s chicken wings were garlicky, a bit spicy, and very sticky. It was the taste that she liked very much.
Qi Zheng paid for the siblings’ food and the three of them walked over to the table together.
As they sat down, a few professors and senior doctors joined their table as well. Zhang Li Xue was only interested in eating her favorite chicken wings and did not mind if the others sat with them.
The girl was relishing the taste of her favorite food when she noticed a few pieces of steamed broccoli appeared in front of her.
Without looking up, Zhang Li Xue could already guess that the person who put those vegetables in her tray could only be her brother.
.....
“Sister, you need to eat more vegetables. Otherwise, I’ll tell Mommy.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtZhang Li Xue stared at her brother helplessly. “How old are you? You still wanted to report everything to our mother.” In the end, she still picked up a piece of vegetable and ate them slowly.
“You’re too picky with food. This was why you’re shorter than me.”
Zhang Li Xue had the urge to beat her brother because of his words. The only reason she was slightly shorter was because of her gender, alright? Moreover, their mother was also a petite woman. It was genetic!
“Zhang Yi Hai, you are no longer cute now that you have grown up,” Zhang Li Xue said. “Back then, you were very adorable. You would follow me everywhere and listen to my words.”
The boy stared back at his sister with a serious look on his face. “I still listened to your words.”
“Nonsense.” Zhang Li Xue snorted.
She really missed her little brother whom she can easily bully. Back then, she would poke at his chubby cheek and the boy would not complain about it.
These days, Zhang Yi Hai would complain about everything.
Qi Zheng, who was sitting at their side naturally noticed the siblings’ interaction. “Alright. Stop fighting.” He turned to the girl and continued, “But Li Xue, you need to eat a lot of vegetables.”
“Oh.” Zhang Li Xue picked up her vegetables and ate them silently. Her gaze stopped at her chicken wings. Zhang Li Xue was planning to save the best for the last.
The siblings ate silently until they finished their meals.
Knowing that Qi Zheng would be busy with his work again, the siblings did not plan to stay for a long time.
As they walked out of the cafeteria, Qi Zheng continued to remind the siblings to stop by his house to take a few fresh crabs that his wife had bought.
Just then, a group of young doctors walked over and noticed Qi Zheng. They walked over and greeted him. “Hello, Doctor Qi.”
Qi Zheng smiled. “You guys are going to have your lunch now? Go ahead before the food is all gone. The ribs soup today is especially refreshing.”
The group of resident doctors exchanged their glances before thanking the senior doctor.
“It seemed that another person was missing,” Qi Zheng said as he looked at the group.
“Bai Qi was on the phone,” one of them answered. “He said he will come over shortly.”
Zhang Li Xue watched them from the side and guessed that they should be the group of new doctors under her Uncle Qi Zheng.
“Doctor Qi, are they your children?” One of the female doctors asked. Her gaze was on Zhang Li Hai.
Qi Zheng glanced at the siblings before explaining briefly. “You could say that they are my niece and nephew.”
Zhang Li Xue saw how this doctor was checking on her brother and smiled. Her brother was a little cold and too lazy to socialize. Surprisingly, he could attract others’ attention as well.
After chatting for a while, the group of young doctors left.
Zhang Li Xue looked at her Uncle Qi Zheng again and spoke, “Then, Uncle Qi Zheng, we will be leaving first.”
“Let me send you to the door,” Qi Zheng said. “I could use a little exercise after that meal.”
The siblings naturally did not have any other objection. They walked over to the elevator and chatted while waiting.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe elevator finally arrived with a ding. Seeing that the elevator was going down, Zhang Li Xue did not rush over to enter.
Just then, a tall man walked out.
Their gazes met and Zhang Li Xue was surprised to see that it was a familiar face.
Last time, didn’t she meet this man at Huan Huan’s wedding?
The man seemed surprised to see Zhang Li Xue as well. He stared at the girl, wondering if the person in front of him was real or his imagination.
Wasn’t she supposed to be in L City?
“Bai Qi, you better go over quickly. The others had arrived at the cafeteria a while ago.”
The senior doctor’s voice snapped him out of his trance. Bai Qi turned to the doctor and greeted, “Hello, Doctor Qi.”
Zhang Li Xue was at the side when she listened to their conversation. She looked at the tall man again and finally realized that this man should be one of the doctors under her Uncle Qi Zheng.
Her lips turned into a smile. “Hello, we met again.”
Qi Zheng turned to Zhang Li Xue with a puzzled look. A thought came to his mind upon seeing that the girl was looking at his apprentice. “You two know each other?”
Zhang Li Xue nodded as she looked at her uncle. “Mmm... last time, it was this doctor who had helped to give me first aid when I injured my ankle.” She turned to the man again and spoke, “Thank you for the last time.”
“So it was you who had helped her.” Qi Zheng patted the boy’s shoulder.
Bai Qi was still surprised to see the little fairy at the hospital. Seeing her interaction with his mentor... it seemed that they know each other?
This... what was going on?
