646 Pick Up His Wife
Zhang Li Xue was in the middle of browsing through her documents when she heard a knock on the door. Without looking up, she let the person come in, thinking that it was her secretary.
The door was pushed open, but the person did not say anything.
After a brief silence, Zhang Li Xue raised her head and smiled when she saw her husband leaning on the door while looking at her with a gentle look.
It was then that Zhang Li Xue realized that she has been looking at the documents for a long time. She did not even notice that it was time for her to go back.
“I’m sorry,” Zhang Li Xue said. “I did not notice the time.”
“It’s alright.” Bai Qi walked over to his wife’s side. He leaned over and kissed the top of her head. “My wife, I come to pick you up from work.”
Zhang Li Xue laughed. “Just give me five minutes to tidy up everything.”
“Mhm...” Bai Qi sat down on the sofa while waiting for his wife to tidy up. Fortunately, it did not take her too long to pack up.

.....
The staff was watching the couple as they were watching past them. Everyone knew that Zhang Li Xue was married to a handsome doctor. Seeing how the couple was still affectionate made them sigh.
Bai Qi took the car key from his wife and slid into the driver’s seat. Just now, he had taken a cab to the hotel just because he wanted to pick up his wife.
“What were the kids doing when you left?” Zhang Li Xue asked. She knew well that Bai Qi would often spend his time with their kids whenever he was not on duty.
“Xi Xi was teaching them to do their homework,” Bai Qi said. He then remembered the mischievous thing that their daughter had done and decided to tell his wife about it.
Zhang Li Xue laughed when she heard how Bai Qi had finally figured out how their daughter managed to escape her playpen. The girl would turn one year old next weekend. She finally learned to walk not too long ago. Although she could understand what others were saying to her, Bai Jing Jing was not that fluent in her speech. She can only form short sentences.
However, what worried Zhang Li Xue the most was that Bai Jing Jing was too smart and mischievous.
The couple continued to talk about their children on their way home.
Once they arrived home, Zhang Li Xue alighted from the car and headed into the house to look for her children.
When she walked into the living area, Zhang Li Xue found that their children were sitting obediently with Bai Xi Xi.
Bai Xi Xi seemed to be teaching her eldest son, Bai Xiang some mathematic problems. At the side, their second son, Zhang Qi Lin was busy drawing something with his colored pencil. Her daughter, Bai Jing Jing sat with her second brother to draw.
Zhang Li Xue walked closely and saw that Bai Jing Jing was drawing a mess using her brother’s colored pencils.
It was Bai Jing Jing who noticed her mother’s return first. The little girl put down the colored pencil and ran over to her mother with her short legs. “Mommy!”
Zhang Li Xue squatted down and spread her arms until her daughter fell into her embrace. She carried the little girl in her arms and kissed her chubby face repeatedly.
Bai Jing Jing laughed happily before she hugged her mother tightly. “Mommy, I miss you.”
“Well, Mommy misses you too.” Zhang Li Xue looked at her daughter and sighed. “Jing Jing, have you been a good girl?”
The little girl nodded her head innocently. “Good girl.”
Zhang Li Xue chatted with the little girl before checking on her two sons. Her gaze turned softer as she watched Bai Xi Xi patiently explaining to Bai Xiang his homework.
As she was accompanying the children in the living room, Bai Qi returned to announce that it was time for dinner.

Seeing that his wife was unbuttoning her shirt, Bai Qi went over to her side to kiss her on the mouth. He took his time to savor her taste before he finally let go. “I haven’t kissed you today.”
When Zhang Li Xue was heading to work, Bai Qi was still catching up on his sleep.
Last night, he had a long surgery. When he returned home, he was too tired and had fallen asleep for a long time.
Zhang Li Xue poked at his chest. “Don’t make trouble. The kids are waiting for us. Let’s not make them wait.”
Bai Qi heaved a sigh as he watched his wife change into loungewear.
Then, the two of them headed to the dining room together.
As the family started to eat their dinner, both Zhang Li Xue and Bai Qi did not forget to ask everyone about their day at school. Bai Xi Xi was in her final year and would be preparing for university entrance. Bai Xiang was in primary school and Zhang Qi Lin was in kindergarten.
The atmosphere was quite lively. At least, Bai Xiang and Zhang Qi Lin were not at the age where they would keep any secret from their parents. The two of them would tell their parents everything that they found interesting.
Even Bai Jing Jing did not want to miss telling her mother what she had done today. Of course, the little girl did not dare to mention how she had climbed up her playpen.
“That’s right. Next weekend, Jing Jing will turn one year old,” Zhang Li Xue announced. She turned to her daughter and pinched her chubby cheek.
Bai Jing Jing looked at everyone proudly. “One year old.”
“I already invited your uncles and aunt to attend Jing Jing’s birthday party,” Zhang Li Xue said. She looked at her eldest son and smiled. “Miao Miao said, she will be coming as well.”
Bai Xiang’s eyes lit up upon hearing his mother’s words.
