Chapter 234 It was just past 8 PM when Aaron and Ellie, chatting and laughing with Diana, arrived at the entrance of a high- end restaurant in the city center.

68% "Aaron, when we leave, don't forget to grab the clothes from my car's trunk," Diana said as she pushed Aaron aside, linking her arm with Ellie's, standing between the two of them.

Aaron raised an eyebrow. "I appreciate the gesture, but the clothes are fine. I can wash them myself, Ms. Grant. You don't need to buynew ones." "You think I actually want to buy you new ones?" Diana shot Aaron a disgusted look. "I'm just trying to get my dad off my back, okay?" Aaron stood frozen for a moment.

"Ms. Grant, Aaron is a man of few words, so letthank you and Mr. Grant on his behalf." Ellie quickly chimed in, sensing the awkward silence from Aaron.

"No wonder everyone says he's a man of few words." Diana shot Aaron a look of disdain.

"Let's go inside," Aaron said, trying to steer the conversation away. He couldn't fight, couldn't yell, and couldn't get angry; his only option was to change the subject.

"Wait a second." As the three were about to enter the restaurant, Diana's sharp eyes caught sight of Alex and Haley.

Ellie followed Diana's gaze. Not far away, Haley was walking toward them, arm in arm with Alex. Alex said something, and Haley laughed, clearly in a good mood. Ellie turned her gaze back to Aaron.

"Let's go," Aaron said, his expression as indifferent as ever, about to turn around. But before he could, Diana shoved past Ellie and stood in front of the restaurant door.

Diana's voice wasn't too loud, but it was definitely loud enough for the people around to hear. "Bitch, you're openly trying to steal my fiancé right in front of me. Is that how your mom raised you?" Haley looked up and saw Diana, along with Aaron and Ellie. The smile on her face instantly froze.

But it was only for a brief moment. Haley tightened her hold on Alex's arm and shot a provocative glance at both Diana and Ellie. "What a coincidence, you're here too." Alex glanced down at Haley's hand still wrapped around his arm before raising his head.

He briefly surveyed the three standing at the entrance of the restaurant but didn't push Haley away.

Ellie stood beside Diana, unsure whether she should speak up.

Currently, Diana was Alex's fiancée; this was recognized by both families, and the engagement had been publicly announced at a press conference years ago.

Todd and Nancy had always supported the freedom to love and respected Alex's personal choices, never pressuring him to get married.

When Alex had been with Haley, they had already prepared a compensation package to dissolve the engagement with the Grant family.

Diana pointed at Alex and snapped. "What's the matter? You want to defend your mistress?" "Go somewhere else," Alex muttered, his frustration mounting. He pushed Diana aside and grabbed Haley's arm, walking away.

As Alex passed Ellie, he didn't even glance her way, his steps neverm faltering. Haley, her lips curling into a smug grin, couldn't wipe the satisfaction off her face. Ellie, unable to stand seeing them together, turned to Diana. "Ms. Grant, how about we try a different restaurant?" Diana, being her usual domineering self, linked her arm with Aaron's and boldly replied, "No, I want to eat here." Aaron, his face emotionless, pushed Diana's arm away, but she immediately latched onto him again, this tholding on tightly.

Diána tilted her head back and said, "Aaron, tonight, everything's on me. Let's go eat, and let's sit right next to them."
