Chapter 260 In the dark of the night, on the sidewalk, the two locked eyes.

"She stole my wallet," Ellie replied casually, brushing it off.

If the worst-case scenacto pass, she wasn't sure how she'd handle it. Just the thought of it was unbearable. She'd worked so hard to forget, so hard to keep going. She couldn't believe fate would be so cruel.

"Let's go back," Alex said, not pressing further. Ellie said nothing more.

The two of them drove back in silence, each lost in their own thoughts.

When the car pulled into Warren Manor and cto a stop, Ellie opened the door and got out.

Alex sat in the backseat, watching her figure disappear into the distance, his gaze narrowing. How could I possibly turn my back on you?" Haley replied with feigned sympathy. "I can risk everything to get you both out of Jaslands, but you have to promise not to cback." Haley tossed a check onto the floor. Amelia quickly scrambled to pick it up. "Ms. Owens, don't worry. We'll hide far away and never return." A satisfied smile tugged at the corner of Haley's lips as she handed the blonde girl a pair of binoculars. "Take another good look. The people in your house right now want you dead. If you see them, make sure to stay as far away as possible." The blonde girl was completely stunned, obediently accepting the binoculars and peering into the living room of the neighboring building.

Suddenly, there was a loud slap, and the binoculars dropped from her hands.

Just when Haley thought she had shaken off the black sedan, a long black Bentley suddenly barreled through the security gate of the community. The car shot up from behind, swerved, and cstraight at Haley's vehicle, slamming into the front with a deafening bang. Bang! Haley had no tto brake and collided head-on.

By the tshe regained her senses and tried to reverse, she found the rear blocked by another car.

Shaken, Haley reached for the car door to get out when she saw the black Bentley's door swing open. Alex stepped out from the driver's seat.
