Chapter 309 "Leonard, when I rejected you in college, it wasn't because I wanted to focus on my studies. It was because I already had a crush on someone." Leonard frowned. "So, are you with him now?" Ellie shook her head. "No, he passed away." Leonard stood there, unable to find the right words. "Then why can't you try being with me?” Ellie's voice was steady but filled with sorrow. "It's not just that. I. I can't have children." Leonard froze with a mix of shock and disbelief on his face. Ellie felt a sharp pang of sadness in her heart. "Leonard, do you think you could marry a woman who can't have kids? Even if you could accept that, what about your family?" Leonard's eyes softened with concern as he stepped closer to her "Ellie, with today's medical advancements, there must be a way to cure your illness!" Ellie couldn't help but feel a strange sense of relief at the surprise in Leonard's eyes. Here was a man who had quietly liked her since high school, and hearing her tell him she couldn't have children surprised him.

If it had been any other man, she could only imagine how repelled they would be.

Elhe said firmly, "Leonard, I'm fully aware of my health condition. Don't waste any more ton me. There won't be a happy ending." She handed the cactus back to Leonard, her expression resolute.

“I'll think carefully about this,” Leonard said, refusing to take the cactus from her. With that, he turned and walked away. Ellie stood at the stairwell, watching Leonard leave, feeling a complex emotion she couldn't quite describe.

Ever since she met Leonard, he had always treated her this way. Back then, she didn't understand, but now she did. She thought, 'If someone truly loves you, he'll treat everything about you with care. He'll speak to you with kindness, invest his youth in you, and truly attend to your feelings. It's only someone who loves you that will share your joys and sorrows.' Suddenly, a voice from behind interrupted her thoughts. "The person you said who passed away... was it me?" Alex's voice was cold and calm, pulling Ellie back to the present.

Standing expressionlessly at the stairwell, Ellie watched as Alex walked toward her, his gaze fixed on her. Ellie steadied the cactus in her hands, ready to face whatever cnext.

Seeing that Ellie wasn't responding, Alex felt his emotions starting to fray. He said, "Ellie, if you want, I can becwhoever you wantto be!" Alex stopped in front of Ellie, looking down to meet her eyes with an intense gaze. “I know you're angry. I drank too much last night, but I..." Before Alex could finish, Ellie grabbed the pot and smashed it towards Alex, who instinctively flinched back from the pain. "You're crazy whether you're drunk or not!" Ellie said.

Ellie kept swinging the cactus at Alex's face, neck, and chest. Alex yelped in pain. "Stop it! I'm allergic to it!" +13 19:21 Wed, Feb 12 Chapter 309 "I don't care!" Ellie retorted.

3 42% Thinking about how Alex had forced himself on her and then re away last night, Ellie's face turned pale with rage. She almost wished she could stuff the cactus into his mouth.

As Ellie kept smashing the cactus at him, Alex didn't dare fight back-he Π could only dodge. Suddenly, Ellie missed her footing. Before she could even scream, she was already losing balance, falling toward the stairs.

"Ellie!" Alex reacted quickly, grabbing her arm and yanking her back just in time. He spun around, pushing her to ον safety. However, as Ellie raised her hand again, Alex instinctively stepped back.

Alex suddenly slipped, and in that instant, he lost all balance, causing him to tumble backward. As he fell, he instinctively reached out to grab Ellie. Seeing him about to fall, however, Ellie quickly stepped back to avoid him. Alex's hand missed Ellie, and in the next moment, he was tumbling down the stairs, rolling uncontrollably.
