Ellie felt uneasy under Alex's intense gaze and turned to leave.

"Ellie, you're more heartless than I imagined!" Alex's voice broke he silence, full of restrained emotion, but Ellie kept walking It was a hard-earned realization, and she vowed not to look back, even for a moment. If she dared to, she deserved the consequences.

Todd and Nancy handled social interactions outside and took care of everyday needs at home. They had to look after Carlos and worry about Alex's matters; every task seemed crucial to them. Alex thought, 'But what about me? How do I repay them?'

"Dad, Mom, it's my fault!" Alex's voice cracked with despair, tears forming in his eyes. If it weren't for him, Ellie might have cto see Carlos, even in critical condition.
