Chapter 1608
Aurora and Noah had to handle the scandal.
Vicky nodded at them. "Go ahead. I'll stay here.”
Aurora was about to say something else when her phone rang again.
Noticing that it was yet another call from Cassandra, she assumed that Cassandra was urging her to leave. "Well...
Well be off now, Vicky," said Aurora.
"Go on."
"Call us if you need anything," said Noah before hurrying away.
As they descended the floors inside the elevator, Aurora mumbled in confusion, "We've known each other for years
and were never involved in any scandal, so what's going on?
I thought your family has a lot of connections in show business, so why would such scandals start spreading to
begin with?"
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtNoah was unsurprised. "Why else? Someone is messing with us."
Aurora frowned. "Who?"
Noah pursed his lips before he said, "You just received those creepy dolls, and moments later, Harvey got into a car
accident. As soon as he was sent to the hospital, the two of us were in trouble as well. Who else is capable of all
that?"
A name flashed through Aurora's mind, and she blurted," Tyler Hart!"
Noah spoke coolly, "I mentioned during the day that you were celebrating too soon. You might've thought I was
being a cold blanket, but look what's happening now. Tyler has started making moves on Vicky."
"That lunatic!" Aurora exclaimed, recalling the gifts Tyler sent. She snarled, "Vicky doesn't owe him anything! What
makes him think he can treat her this way?"
"In this world, there isn't always a reason for things to happen," Noah said in a detached tone. "Harvey has a strong
foundation in Stoneford City. Attacking him from a business angle wouldn't be possible in the short term, so...Tyler
resorted to a more direct approach. Now, Harvey’s life is hanging by a thread.
"You try to reason with him, and he uses force against you. You challenge him with strength, and he employs
tactics," Noah mused. "If Harvey was his rival, he wouldn't have been so brutally deceived a few years ago."
Aurora clenched her fist. "Vicky finally wants a fresh start, and Tyler is being so domineering!" As if something had
struck her, Aurora's gaze flickered. "Noah, do you think...
Tyler might remember something?"
Noah raised an eyebrow. "Hm? What makes you say that?"
"He's been pestering Vicky all this time!"
"If he can't get what he wants, he destroys it. That's the kind of person he is by nature." Noah's tone was languid.
"That's why I've been telling you to stay away from Vicky's romantic affairs. If there comes a day when he loses his
patience, he might just abduct and imprison Vicky. Won't Vicky suffer even more then?"
Aurora fell silent.
Not long after Aurora and Noah left, the door to the operating room was pushed open. Vicky thought the operation
had concluded and approached to inquire," Doctor, how is he?"
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe doctor gazed at Vicky with a stern expression. "The operation isn't over yet."
Perplexed, Vicky looked at the doctor. "So..."
"Mister Sparks has a rare blood type. The blood in the blood bank currently isn't sufficient to complete the surgery. I
just tried contacting other hospitals for an emergency blood transfer, but..."
The doctor looked troubled as he continued, "Even the blood in the blood banks of other hospitals won’t suffice. The
patient's condition is dire at the moment. If we can't secure enough blood within the next three hours, the patient
might..."
Vicky's strength drained from her body, and she unconsciously took a step back. "The blood in the blood
bank...isn't enough?" Vicky stared at the doctor, her voice shaky. "Is it really not enough?"
The doctor's gaze flickered briefly, and he avoided her eyes.
Seeing him evade her question, Vicky understood everything. "Is there really not enough, or...did someone give
some sort of order to move the blood?"
The doctor avoided answering directly. "Ms. Shaw, you... better think of a solution as soon as possible. As doctors,
we don't have much say in these matters."
