"You think you can escape my wrath?" Diablo sneered, his power surged and concentrated into his blade. The weapon possessed a powerful aura, reflecting the essence of its master. Its design deviated from the conventional straight-edged swords, instead taking on a unique, curvy shape, reminiscent of a flickering flame.
The old Elementalist, Lao Feng, could feel the weight of Diablo's power bearing down upon him, but he refused to be threatened by it. Being a formidable individual himself, he understood that yielding to fear would only seal his fate and guarantee his defeat at the hands of his adversary.
With unwavering resolve, he held his ground, channeling every ounce of his power into creating a stronger and more formidable wind tornado. The tempest grew in strength, unleashing howling gusts that threatened to uproot anything in their path.
"Die insect!" With a powerful slash of his blade, Diablo unleashed his power, slicing and burning through the wind barrier as if it were nothing.
As his sword sliced through the barrier of swirling winds, Lao Feng braced himself for the inevitable strike. But just as the blade was about to land, a wave of illusionary clones of him appeared in the sky, filling the air with a deceptive spectacle.
It was the skill of his student that saved him. Though Zein Ling may not possess the same destructive power as his teacher, his mastery of illusion spell proved invaluable in buying precious time.
The clones of Lao Feng moved in perfect synchronization, their movements mirroring his own. It was a mesmerizing display, as if the heavens had multiplied his presence, confusing Diablo and momentarily halting his attack.
"Pity tricks !" Diablo sneered, his voice echoing through the battlefield. With a surge of power, he unleashed a powerful wave of fire, engulfing the entire sky in a fiery storm. The intense heat and destructive force annihilated every illusion in its path, leaving nothing but scorched earth.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAs the flames consumed the illusions, two silhouettes dropped down from the sky. It was Lao Feng and Zein Ling, their bodies wounded and burned by the devastating attack.
But despite the searing pain and exhaustion that coursed through their body, they were still able to tapped into their remaining reserves of power, allowing them to hover in the air.
"Demon ," Lao Feng gritted his teeth, refusing to succumb to the pain. He knew that giving up now would mean the end of his life. With a determined gaze, he locked eyes with Zein Ling, a silent message passing between them.
Through their unspoken bond, they found the strength to fight once more.
Though their bodies were weakened, their spirits remained unbroken. They knew that their encounter with Diablo had pushed them to their very limits, but they refused to let despair overcome them.
Diablo, observing their defiance, smirked with sadistic delight. He relished in their suffering, eager to break their spirits and claim victory over their futile resistance.
"I must admit, you two are quite honorable," Diablo's voice echoed with a twisted mixture of admiration and disdain.
"Unfortunately, your allies have already escaped with their lives, while you two are left here for death," Diablo's words dripped with venomous disdain, designed to wound not only the duo but also the imaged of the Rank S and SS individuals who had chosen to flee.
His taunting words were meant to break their spirit, make them feel betrayed and lose hope.
"It is not about honor or cowardice, Demon. We fight for the survival of our world, and sometimes survival requires strategic retreat. But make no mistake, they will face you again, and they will kill you." Lao Feng replied with a calm yet firm voice.
"Strategies? Such feeble attempts at defiance. None can stand against me. Your allies are nothing but weaklings who cower in the face of true power." Diablo's laughter filled the air, a mocking sound that resonated with malice.
"You may be stronger, but we are not alone. How long do you think you can survive against the combined power of this world? I'm not even the strongest in our clan" the old man defiantly retorted.
"You may be able to end our lives now, but your own demise is inevitable," the two fighters spoke with unyielding resolve, their eyes reflecting a serene acceptance. Deep within their hearts, a solemn decision had been made—they were prepared to sacrifice their lives for the cause they fervently believed in.
"You two are boring, " Diablo clicked his tongue in frustration. His attempts to instill fear and doubt in their hearts had failed. The duo remained resolute, unmoved by his taunts.
"It's time to end this," As Diablo raised his greatsword, a sense of dread filled the air. The atmosphere grew hotter, and everyone on the battlefield braced themselves for what was to come.
From the tip of his sword, a small red fireball materialized, its luminosity intensifying with every passing moment. With a mesmerizing display of power, the fireball rapidly expanded, consuming everything within a vast radius of 500 meters. As it grew, its once fiery red hue transformed into an ominous shade of blue, emanating an oppressive heat that seared the air itself.
The immense power emanating from the fireball sent heat waves through the battlefield. Everyone, within a 10-kilometer radius, could feel the temperature rapidly rising, a testament to the magnitude of the power within the giant ball of fire.
In that moment, realization dawned upon everyone . They realized the futility of their efforts, the hard truth that Diablo was an adversary they could not defeat. The weight of their impending doom settled upon their shoulders, and despair threatened to consume them.
Even if they had come with twice the number, the outcome would remain the same. Diablo's power surpassed anything they had ever faced, rendering their previous strategies and hopes for victory futile.
"Be glad that you will die under my hand," Dibalo muttered, his voice dripping with contempt and a sense of absolute judgment
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmIn direct response to his words, the colossal fireball started its descent from the heavens above. Its searing flames cast an ominous glow, ready to engulf and incinerate everything in its path.
The sheer magnitude of its presence sent waves of trepidation through the hearts of all who witnessed it. As it neared the ground, the scorching heat emanating from the fireball became almost unbearable, suffocating the air and leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
"It's over," Lao Feng sighed, a sense of resignation coloring his words.
However, just as his declaration hung in the air, a peculiar and mysterious cracking sound gradually crept into the scene. The unexpected noise reverberated through the atmosphere, acting as a resounding wake-up call that shattered the deep sense of hopelessness that had settled over them.
CRACK
CRACK
CRACK
In an instant, the entire domain seemed to freeze. The air itself became frigid, as if time had come to a standstill. The giant fireball, once a harbinger of destruction, now met its match as a cold gas permeated the surroundings, encasing everything in a gradual but relentless frozen attack.
The clash between fire and ice unfolded before their eyes, an awe-inspiring spectacle of contrasting elements. The ferocious flames struggled against the encroaching frost, yet the freezing air held its ground, slowly but surely turning the once-raging inferno into a fragile frozen sphere .
And then, with a resounding crack, the frozen sphere shattered, releasing a cascading wave of pure, pristine snow that blanketed the land.
"I'll take it from here."
