Ren, on the other hand, equipped both scepters at the ready. He would finish this with a single shot.
Amidst the hooting and croaking, Ren heard Elena's voice.
"Ahh . . . Ren, try to prolong the fight. I want to be entertained."
Then why don't you fight them? Ren wanted to say the words were in the tip of his mouth.
As the battle began, the Frogfolks cheered on as the four friends faced off against Ren. Lily stepped forward, casting a spell that caused dark tendrils to shoot out toward Ren. The latter quickly countered with a burst of light magic, dispelling her spell without breaking his stance.
"You're mine! Yeargh!"
Zack let out a battle cry as he charged toward Ren, his sword held high. With a flick of his wrist, he activated his special skill: Sword Rain. The blade began to glow with intense energy, and suddenly, a rain of shimmering blades rained down upon Ren.
Ren didn't even try to dodge. He was struck several times, causing him to stagger backward, but the damage was so minuscule Zack's face turned white.
The Frogfolks cheered as they watched Ren unscathed and unbothered.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"N-no way . . . My STR is already one hundred! You're cheating!" Zack yelled at the top of his lungs.
Ren simply flicked his wrist and sent a blast of fire toward him. Zack managed to dodge, but just barely.
Josh took aim with his sniper rifle, but Ren's scepters began to glow, and a shield of energy formed around him, deflecting the bullets.
Kelly tried to heal her friends, keeping them in optimum health, but the damage was just too great, she needed to cast triple [Heal] to keep them from dying. With her low skills and ATP, it was a nightmare. At the same time, Lily fired spells that wouldn't hit their mark.
"H-How is he so strong?" Josh uttered.
Zack wasn't having it and wildly swung his word in and released his spells in wild abandon.
Ren only raised his scepters, summoning a powerful gust of wind that knocked Zack off balance. The swordsman stumbled, nearly losing his grip on his sword.
"Hah! That didn't hurt!" Zack said, laughing.
"It wasn't supposed to hurt, idiot," uttered Ren.
"Z-Zack!"
Zack turned to his friends when they called his name. The horror on their faces was fresh when they stared at his face.
"What?"
That was only when Zack noticed that he was turning into particles. He didn't bother to see the damage since he was confident that such a weak gust of wind couldn't kill him.
"Just what the fu–!" Zack didn't finish his words when he burst into particles.
"That's one down," Ren said and flexed his scepter. "Who's next?"
Josh took a step back, contemplating his choices in life.
"D-did you see the damage?" Kylie shuddered. "It's in the thousands. How are we going to defeat that? One hit, and we're gone! Zack was gone!"
Josh couldn't utter a word and looked at Lily. Her beautiful face gave him confidence, and the thought that Elena was looking as well added to his willpower to succeed.
"Use your item now, Lily. I will buy you time."
Josh took off gallantly, but Lily didn't even hear him nor see him as she snatched her item in her inventory. On the other hand, Elena's eyes were only on Ren, taking joy from his reaction as he fought with the kids.
Josh took aim, firing a shot that grazed Ren's arm. Kylie continued to heal her friends, ensuring that they remained in top shape. And Lily broke the seal of her item.
As they struggled to get Ren on his knees, the latter walked towards them, his scepters crackling with energy. "Ready to give up?"
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe Frogfolks murmured in awe as Ren raised his staff, ready to strike the final blow. Josh tried to stop Ren, but the latter wasn't even flinching, and his damage was so minuscule to even chip Ren's HP.
But just as Ren was about to strike, Lily pulled out her ace item, activating it. The device emitted a high-pitched sound that disrupted Ren's concentration.
As Ren stumbled back from the sudden burst of light, the [Clockwork Dragon] sprang to life, its gears whirring and its wings unfolding. And as the light dissipated, the group was surprised to see an enormous dragon standing before them.
The dragon was a magnificent sight to behold, crafted entirely of intricate clockwork mechanisms. Its scales were made of polished brass, gleaming in the sunlight. Its wings were covered in delicate gears, each one turning and clicking as the dragon flapped them.
Its eyes glowed with a bright blue light, and its sharp teeth were made of shining silver. The [Clockwork Dragon] was a masterpiece of engineering, a rare item that only the wealthiest and most powerful players could afford.
As the dragon took in its enemies' ATP, the gears and mechanisms within it began to whir and hum. The dragon's body glowed with a bright blue light, and its wings flapped faster and faster.
Lily and the others watched in amazement as the dragon absorbed the ATP of Ren and double it.
Kylie and Lily were too dumbstruck at the dragon that it was only Josh who calculated the numbers.
S-so high! Josh muttered to himself. Ren's ATP was too high!
Just who is he? Good thing that Josh wasn't attacking him blindly. Ren could definitely kill them in an instant, but he seemed to be delaying for some reason allowing Lily to release her ace.
The [Clockwork Dragon] glowed with a bright light as it absorbed Ren's energy. It was one of the rare items that Ren had sold in the auction, which he got in the Halloween Event, Mad Lab.
Who knew that Lily was the one who bought it? And the irony that it was used against him now.
Ren knew that he might encounter those items he had sold, but he certainly didn't expect to find the [Clockwork Dragon] in the hands of the inexperienced Lily.
In the hands of the pro, it could turn the tide of battle. But in the hands of a child, it was just a simple toy.
Ren was thankful that Lily had the [Clockwork Dragon]. It was the most troublesome item he had sold, and he was glad that he would have to get rid of it early.
