Chapter 1303 Helpless
"What the hell is your legacy?" asked Xiang Wai. "Don't teach my sweet nephew bad things."
"I'm not the one using bad words in speech," replied Hyson. "So, who is teaching bad things here? Me or you?"
Xiang Wai glared at him but Hyson ignored it. "I won't talk to you. We are going home. Let's go, Justin."
"Let's go!"
Xiang Weimin looked at their backs and asked, "Did my son just forget all about me?"
Raelle patted his shoulder, "Hang in there. Hyson's charm is real. Even Justin couldn't escape from it."
Xiang Weimin sighed helplessly.
"What are you all standing here for?" came Mu Chenyan's voice. "If you're done playing, let's go home. I'm hungry already."
"Coming, Aunt!"

But most of the dishes on the lunch menu were Grandmother Xiang's favorites. It had always been like this over the years.
Seeing the dishes, Mu Chenyan paused and said, "I forgot to change the menu."
She and Grandfather Xiang always reminisced together while eating Grandmother Xiang's favorite dishes. But she didn't think the kitchen staff would still keep it the same when there were so many people around.
"It's okay. There is no taboo that they can't eat it," said Grandfather Xiang. "You need to stop worrying about small things."
"Yes," agreed Mu Chenyan. Once she settled down, she started picking food for her nephews and nieces in order, "Weimin, try this sesame oil chicken. I remember your grandmother used to feed you this a lot. Wai, you try this dry stir-fried green beans. Eat more veggies. Don't be picky. My Elle would like this soup dumpling. Be careful of the hot soup. Don't burn your mouth. And my dear Fai should eat this steamed eggplant because he is on a diet."
Hyson's face fell and he looked at her pitifully as if he was about to cry immediately.
Seeing his expression, she couldn't hold back and said, "Okay, okay. Don't look at me with those eyes. I really can't handle those eyes of yours. Here. Eat this steamed fish head with chopped salted chili."
Hyson's smiled bloomed and it made Mu Chenyan happy too. When she looked down, she found that Xia Zhao had also picked all her favorites for her. She smiled to herself and didn't say anything.
After everyone finished eating and were about to leave the dining table, Mu Chenyan stopped them all. "I have something to announce."
"What is it?" asked Xiang Hulin.
Mu Chenyan looked at Xia Zhao and then looked at Grandfather Xiang, "I'm getting married."
"What did you just say?" the question came from Raelle.
"I said I am getting married!"
The scene suddenly went silent before it became extremely chaotic with someone dropping the chopsticks down while some cursing under their breaths and someone straight up slapped the table. And this one was Xiang Hulin.
"Chenchen, say it again? I think I am hearing thing."
"Ge!" Mu Chenyan sighed at her brother but still said it again. "I said I decided to marry Zhao. Why? Is it that difficult to accept?"
"No, it's a bit unbelievable," replied Xiang Hulin. Mu Chenyan ignored him and looked Grandfather Xiang instead who asked, "Did you tell your godmother?"
"I did."
Grandfather Xiang nodded to himself, "It's good."
"You agree?"

Anyway, all is well that ends well. So, all I can say congratulations! You have made a good decision and I'm sure you won't regret it too. You just have to be happy. Because I just want to see you happy at my age."
Mu Chenyan silently listened to him without interrupting him and nodded along in agreement.
Then he looked at Xia Zhao and added, "I know you are a responsible man. You have always been responsible and there is no doubt about that. And I also know you're very patient with our Chenyan. I hope you can be this patient with her in the future too. She might not be a great person but she has a beautiful heart. I can assure you of that."
"I know," answered Xia Zhao. "Yes, you sure know. There is nothing about her that you won't know. It's good that you're her partner. At least, now someone will be there to wipe her tears."
Mu Chenyan gave him a look, "Really? That's what you have to say."
"It's difficult for me to comfort you once you start crying. There are only two people who are good at coaxing you in their own ways. One is your brother, Hulin and the other one is right beside you, Zhao. At least, I can never coax you."
"You just never tried hard enough," said Mu Chenyan.
"I tried once and you cried even harder. So, I decided not to take that risk again because I really don't like seeing your cry. It doesn't even suit you."
"The person who makes me cry the most is also you," reminded Mu Chenyan. "If you don't talk nonsense, I won't cry either."
"Yes, yes. I'm wrong. It's all me."
Mu Chenyan looked at his indulgent expression and was very helpless. She couldn't do anything with him so she decided to just stay quiet instead.
Yue Yue came to Mu Chenyan's side and hugged her tightly before saying, 'I'm so happy for you. It's so great that you're finally thinking about yourself. When is the wedding? What kind of theme should we choose? I'm telling you, I'm gonna prepare everything for you. You better not stop me!'
Mu Chenyan gave this one a helpless look too. What could she do with all these people? Was it a miracle that she agreed for marriage? She didn't think it was such a big deal.
