Chapter 775 Holt swung open the car door and marched into the hotel, making a beeline for the banquet hall to find someone. After scouring the place and coming up empty, he luckily ran into Jason. With a quick inquiry, he learned Selena had left just ten minutes ago.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThat was exactly when he tried calling her. Could something have happened? Holt didn't waste a second. He quickly called the bodyguards over, instructing them to search every nook and cranny. Since Selena hadn't left the hotel yet, she had to be somewhere on the premises. If anything happened to her, how would he face the big boss? The bodyguards were equally concerned and searched diligently, practically turning the entire floor upside down, but found no trace of her. Holt started wondering if she might be in one of the guest rooms upstairs.
After explaining the situation to the hotel manager, he asked if the bodyguards could check room by room, but got a flat-out no. The guests here were wealthy and influential; without solid proof, such an intrusion was a no- go. Even mentioning Blaine's ndidn't help; his sway in Newport wasn't that strong.
They needed someone who could really make an impact...
Leaving the banquet hall, Everett got into his car, leaned back against the leather seat, and rubbed his temples. Alex spoke softly, "Mr. Everett, heading back to Lakeside Mansion?" Everett glanced toward the hotel entrance, waiting for someone he hoped to see, but she never showed. He figured, given how much Selena wanted that necklace, she might cafter him. Yet, disappointment hit him once more. She had made it clear last tthat she didn't want anything more to do with him. As a proud man, he wasn't about to lower himself and chase after her.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Let's head back." Alex nodded, "Yes, sir. On our way." Halfway through the drive, Everett's phone rang. He glanced at the unfamiliar number and, already irritated, hung up. The phone rang again immediately. Everett's brow furrowed; his mood was sour and this wasn't helping. He hung up again, ready to turn the phone off.
Just then, a text message cthrough with a ding. He glanced at it casually, and his eyes suddenly narrowed.
[Mr. Everett, sorry to bother you. I'm Holt from Ms. Selena's team. She seems to be in trouble. Could you please help?] Everett immediately dialed back and told his driver, "Turn around, back to the hotel! Quick!" Fifteen minutes later, Everett strode into the hotel lobby. The hotel vel manager seeing him, didn't dare protest and personally led them upstairs to start searching. Offending anyone else was better than crossing Everett!
Holt was on the brink of tears; she thought help had arrived, but despite Setena checking room after room & was still nowhere to be found. Could she have been whisked away so quickly? With so many people around, it seemed impossible for no one to notice. Or was her judgment off?
Just as Holt was about to suggest looking outside, Everett gave then hotel manager a sharp look and suddenly asked, "Are there really no more rooms?" The hotel manager, caught off guard, replied, "No more."
Everett swiftly kicked over a nearby vase. The crash of shattering glass was startling. "I'll ask one more time, are there any more rooms?" mmMwWLlilofiflo&1 mmMwWLlilofiflo&1 mmMwWLlilofiflo&1 mmMwWLlilofiflo&1 mmMwWLliIofifl0&1 mmMwWLlilofiflo&1
