Chapter 99 Dante’s POV.
And so it was true.
055% 11.03 FD Scott Vanderbilt was officially out of deluxe enterprises and no longer had any thing to do with Sophia’s company. The newsletter was issued and released early this morning but it didn’t state in great detail the reasons to which he had been removed but it gave a general idea pinning the paparazzi issue on him which also conveniently removed the problem about the stakeholders demanding clarity about what had been going on.
There was definitely more to the story which | would cto find out eventually. It was nearly impossible forto not be smug about learning of Scott's removal. The bastard was finally out of every ones hair and maybe now there would be peace and order with things.
| believed Sophia when she had toldabout it but | wasn’t sure about there not being any thing between Scott and here until | saw the newsletter. She would have never removed Scott had she had any entanglement withd him aside from business especially since he was such a valuable figure for her company’s image after me.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt| ran a hand through my hair not caring that I ruined it on the process but | knew exactly what my way forward was going to be. Too much thad been wasted and Sophia and | were rarely ever on the spage. It was like when one of us were eager to fix things between us, the other would hold the opposite attitude leaving us right off where we had began in the first place.
For once, we were on the spage.
Sophia wanted to end this war once and for all and so did I. My temper had gotten the better ofwhen she showed up in my study yesterday but it had simmered down and after thinking with a clear mind, | didn’t have any intention of letting her go ever again.
Sophia was the mother of my child. The woman that | had married to save myself when her step sister jiltedand she was nothing but good tothe entire twe had been married. | was just such a massive ass for not seeing it before. But | knew better now. | knew that she is, with spend ut a doubt, the woman that | wanted to the rest of my life with. Together with Hayley, we would be a complete family and nothing enticedmore than such an idea.
| punched in the code to my safe then scanned my thumb print before it unlocked. The velvet box nestling a three Stone diamond ring and an even thicker diamond encrusted band sat in the middle of the contents. It 1/3 Emergency calls onlyDOR Chapter 99 055% 11.03 would greeteach morning, tauntingof my failure and misfortune of losing the one woman | truly ever loved in the most pure sense of the word.
However, today was different. Today when | saw that velvet box, it had rejuvenatedbeyond explanation. | was eager to do this all over again with Sophia but for the right reasons and with a far greater appreciation for her. It was even a miracle that | was being awarded another chance at this and | fully intended on taking the utmost advantage of it all.
FD Tonight would be perfect to do it all. To apologize, to proclaim my love for Sophia that felt like it was beginning to boil withinuntil it was ready to explode. It had to be special and | was going to see to it that it was.
| fished my phone out of my pocket then made a few calls arranging a private dinner overseeing the docks beneath the moonlight. A violinist and florist would both serve well to add ambiance. The latter would transform the grassy greenery with countless rose petals and pretty things. It all had to be perfect.
As | drove to my office building, a thought occured toand immediately made the necessary call to the boutique | had taken Sophia to previously and organised an outfit for her to wear which | chose from the selection of dresses they had sent through to me. A matching bouquet and a card would be nice touch once it reached her later today.
With each passing moment, | was starting to look forward to the evening more and more. Every thing was coming together nicely and | was burning with excitement to see Sophia later tonight. She had no idea what she was in for and | wanted to maintain that element of surprise.
The dress along with the flowers had been sent to her house where she would see it once she had gotten halong with the card that informed her to be ready and a tthat | would pick her up.
When the only meeting that | had shown up to the office for had cto a close, | didn’t waste any tbefore leaving and heading out of the board room. | checked my wrist watch and saw that it was nearly 5 p.m which meant that Sophia was either leaving her work place of she had reached her hby now.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm| took the chance to leave as well and headed hto prepare myself for this evening. Every thing had be perfect and | believed that it would be but that was until my phone buzzed merely minutes before | could get back to the house.
The call had cfrom a number that | had not recognised at all and, usually, | wouldn't accept such a call, but for sreason | answered this one and it felt like the rug had been pulled from beneath my feet sending a sick feeling in the pits of my abdomen.
2/3 Emergency calls only Chapter 99 055% 11.03 “Hello, am | speaking to Mr. Crawford?” The strong male voice spoke in a tensed tone that | did not like in the slightest.
“Yes.” Was all | said wanting him to get to it faster.
“Mr. Crawford, you're speaking to Simon Lehman. I'm calling you from the city hospital. I'm afraid to inform you that Miss Miller has met with an accident. You were listed as her first emergency contact.” | didn’t car about what ever else he had said over the phone because my brain went in to a semi-shock.
A billion thoughts raced through my head all at once shutting it down in a painfully numbing way as the worst of the worst outcomes had crossed my mind.
“Is she okay?” | barked over the phone.
“She is still being examined. It is too early to say.” The man said in the most unhelpful way possible and | hung up before I lost my temper with him.
| made a quick detour and rushed over to the hospital doing double the speed limit without any care or thought but getting to Sophia.
