~Country S, City S~
As Shi Wenqian had nothing better to do given that she wasn't going to the foundation, she decided to visit the venue for Zhang Mingyu's engagement party as per Mrs. Ong's invitation.
Immediately she arrived at the venue was shown the way into the hall, she walked over to fawn over Mrs. Ong before a ting with dignity.
No matter the money and connection she had, the Ong family has been in the picture long before her.
At least she was smart enough not act so high and mighty in front of those that woukd be of great help to her.
"How do you like it?" Mrs. Ong asked while looking at the little stage that was meant for the upcoming couple.
Instantly, Shi Wenqian's gaze travelled to that place. Seeing the flower arrangement, she had a few things to complain about.
"There shouldn't be too many red flowers. Just a few pieces here and there will be enough to enhance the flower decoration on the stage."
"Right?" Seeing great sense in what she just talked about, Mrs. Ong immediately call over one of the people working there and relayed an instruction concerning the flower arrangement.
When the staff went back to her earlier position to start making some alterations to the decor, Mrs. Ong said while looking at Shi Wenqian from her peripheral view.

Even though Mrs. Ong didn't mean anything bad with what she said, Shi Wenqian had a way of twisting words and seeing things from a totally different perspective.
She thought that Mrs. Ong was trying to remind her that the Ong family was the one spending money on the expensive engagement between two families.
But in actual sense, Mrs. Ong wanted her to contribute to the arrangement of the hall and not let her feel that she shouldn't do that much because the Zhang family wasn't going to join hands to foot the bill.
In the first place, Mrs. Ong was the one that suggested to foot the bill for the engagement so Shi Wenqian has no reason to feel bad.
But trust that woman to be strange.

Having received the right to make some changes to the decors, Shi Wenqian went about pointing out a few things while staying in the same position.
She liked making arrangements for parties like this moreso, it was her son's engagement party.
It needed to be loud.
From the cutlery and down to the food, she either added or scrapped a few things off the list, but she was smart enough to not offend Mrs. Ong as she kept on asking for her suggestion as well.
"If things go well tomorrow, our children should get married within two months after this engagement party." Mrs. Ong said with finality in her tone.
She still needed to observe a few things tomorrow before raising the flag for her daughter to be married off to the Zhangs.
Hearing her condition for a wedding to hold soon, Shi Wenqian complied while already starting to plot a few things in her head.
By all means, things must go on very well for her son tomorrow.
Thinking about how much Mrs. Ong hated to share attention on the news with others, she made sure that no scandal would be put up the next day and the day after.
At the same time, she shifted and tried to make a call to her secretary, but when the line wasn't connecting, she quickly left her a text before rejoining Mrs. Ong in the hall.
As soon as the last minute setup was done, Shi Wenqian left for the foundation before returning home still, Secretary Cha was still yet to respond to her.
"What is wrong with her, is she still busy at the factory?"
Pondering a few things over in her head, she left for her bedroom where she freshened up before appearing at the dining table to have dinner with Zhang Renshu and Zhang Mingyu.
As soon as she sat down, she fixed her gaze on the man supposed to be a dutiful husband.
"Won't you ask me how the engagement arrangement is going?"
"What is there to ask about? If you can't even take care of a small task like that, then you shouldn't be trusted with a bigger one." Zhang Renshu stated without sparring her a glance.
He didn't have time to exchange words with her or try to understand the direction she was coming from.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmIf she couldn't speak straight forwardly and summarize what was going on without him having to ask or show interest as she wanted him to, then she can continue to keep her mouth shut.
He didn't care.
"Zhang Mingyu is your son, you should try to show some interest towards things that concern him."
Letting out a regretful sigh, she quickly said without giving him a chance to start an argument with her.
She still wanted to retire to be in joy and wake up the next day overflowing in happiness.
"Mrs. Ong said the kids should get married within two months after the engagement tomorrow."
Hearing that, Zhang Renshu nodded in agreement while Zhang Mingyu who had been quiet all this while, stopped eating and peered at his parents.
"Two months is enough time to plan the wedding ceremony. This union has taken so much time to happen despite the agreement that was made more than a year ago."
Zhang Renshu was fine with the arrangement and immediately gave his consent for things to go as planned.
There was no need holding off the marriage when he was still keen on being related to the Ong family through the marriage of his son to their daughter.
Hearing his response, Shi Wenqian was more than satisfied and began to eat.
When was the last time they ever talked about something and an argument didn't end it?
She couldn't remember but thankfully, they both agreed on something which meant that things were still good on her side.
