Chapter 1408 He Cannot Catch This Breeze
How about taking her abroad? Jerry thought.
Timothy was taking care of Kenneth and Jessica. He had also helped them establish connections in the business
world. In a few years, they would be able to rebuild a “Benson Corporation.”
She loved to play, so he would accompany her as they traveled the world together, ensuring she wouldn't disappear
like the wind and run off without a trace.
But she would never know how to love someone, for there was no love in her heart.
He couldn't grasp this wisp of wind.
Jerry's fingers gently brushed across the woman's cheek, then glided up to rest between her eyebrows. He sighed
deeply. “How can there be a woman like you, who has people both love and hate her?”
After a while, he gently removed her hand from around his waist, picked up the phone on the bedside table, and
headed into the bathroom.
He leaned against the sink, just lighting a cigarette, when the phone he was holding to his ear was answered. The
person on the other end spoke with restrained anger, muttering, “Xedells and Jadeborough share the same time

Jerry took a puff of his cigarette and simply said, “Help me deal with something.”
After listening, Jesse fell silent for a few seconds, then said, “Mr. Gaudette's death has brought quite a bit of trouble
to the Pann family, and your father also passed away recently...”
He reminded the man by saying, “Whatever you do next, Sebastian will think you're trying to rebel.”
Jerry said, “Yes, I am.”
“Jerry, don't be impulsive, okay?” Jesse couldn't believe him. His temper had changed again in such a short time
since returning to Jadeborough. “You're not the only one who wants to deal with the Gaudette family.”
The Gaudette family had used tactics to bring down Gerald and his wife, indirectly causing Miranda's sudden death.
Sally had never forgotten this grudge.
“Just go and handle it.” Jerry hung up the phone after finishing the conversation.
He understood Charlotte.
He also knew that Sean had had a meeting at the hotel this afternoon. Charlotte had known about it beforehand,
which was why she had personally brought Scarlette to the hotel for the audition.
In no time, the cigarette was finished. Jerry tossed it into the toilet and flushed it away.
He had just stepped out of the bathroom when, unexpectedly, his phone rang again. It was a call from Joash, asking
where he was and urging him to head to Baykeep earlier.
It turned out that it was already five in the morning.
The ringing of the telephone had woken Charlotte up as well. Seeing that Jerry didn't return to bed after finishing
the call, she asked groggily, “Where are you going?”
“To Baykeep.” Jerry put on a sweater, covering up his muscular body.
“Why're you going so far?”
“To shoot a promotional video for a church.” Jerry turned around and saw her propping up her cheek with one
hand, lying in bed with sleepy eyes. “You can go back to sleep.”
Upon hearing this, Charlotte sat up from the bed. “I won't sleep anymore, I'll go with you.”
Jerry hooked his finger under her chin, a playful smirk on his face, “Can't bear to part with me? If you come with
me, what about your niece? Tomorrow isn't the weekend, you know.”
“Of course I can't bear to part with you; I wish I could be with you at all hours of the day.” She hugged the man and

They were finally getting back together after so many twists and turns. She wanted to enjoy it more.
Charlotte went to her walk-in closet to pick out clothes. She had initially chosen a light pink knitted dress, but it was
short and barely covered the top of her thighs.
She glanced back subconsciously and saw Jerry leaning against the door, pinning her down with his gaze. He said,
“If you dare to wear it, I'll dare to cover your legs with kiss marks. Do you want everyone to see that?”
“Are you really brave enough?” Charlotte asked disbelievingly.
Jerry's eyes narrowed slightly as he stalked into the walk-in closet. Charlotte immediately hung the knitted dress
back and picked out a pair of jeans upon seeing that. “Is this long enough? It covers everything, even the ankles
aren't exposed.”
She commented, “You're such a naughty pervert.” Then she immediately followed up with, “But I really like it.”
In an instant, she had egged him on so much that he could only laugh in exasperation.
Charlotte wasn't so heartless as to leave her niece alone at home. She called the housekeeper who took care of
Charlotte's daily affairs. Once the housekeeper had arrived, she left with Jerry.
When the two arrived at the airport, it was not yet seven o'clock, and the sky was still shrouded in mist.
Charlotte thought it would be a first-class cabin at most, but it wasn't until she passed the security check and
entered the plane that she realized it was a private jet.
