Chapter 1551 It Is Just An Excuse
Denise had been attentively listening. After Waylon's departure, she couldn't hold back her curiosity and asked
Johanna, “Johanna, can I assist you when the time comes for this project?”
“I'm not entirely sure about the design direction yet.”
If it were a matter of following fashion trends, coming up with trendy designs would come naturally to Johanna.
However, designing attire for a tea brand was a field she hadn't delved into before.
Johanna explained, “I had a conversation with Ms. Rachford. Your role will be to accompany Yvonne to the Broburgh
Film Festival and assist with her styling.”
“Sure thing.” Denise nodded in agreement.
As Denise gathered the tea set, she found herself compelled to continue, “Last night, Timothy arranged for red
velvet roses to be delivered, and he also arranged for a band. He's genuinely keen on having a romantic candlelit
dinner with you. Denise, I truly have no interest in Timothy. He's simply not my type.”
Denise felt an urge to intervene, despite knowing she should avoid meddling too much. She went on, saying, “That
interviewee earlier got scared off by Timothy, and he's the one who arranged for me to work with you.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtWhen Johanna heard that, her lips curved into a faint smile as she responded, “I didn't realize at first, but the pieces
fell into place when you joined. We've only crossed paths twice, with years in between. How coincidental is it that
you appeared for a job interview at my studio?”
Back at Quincey's condominium, there was a telling incident. When Denise arrived, Timothy didn't even spare her a
glance, indicating that they were still in contact.
That was why he was not surprised by the presence of Denise and ignored her.
Denise quickly explained, “Timothy isn't trying to keep tabs on your life. He's genuinely concerned about you. He's
afraid that if things sour between you two, another man might come and sweep you away.”
Johanna's reaction didn't seem to indicate that she took Denise's words seriously. In a warm tone, she redirected
the conversation. “Why don't you wash the teacups and bring them upstairs? I have a task for you to take care of.”
“Of course,” Denise responded with a resigned sigh.
During the weekend, Denise accompanied Yvonne and others to the Broburgh Film Festival. Meanwhile, Johanna
decided to take a day off and headed to a hot spring resort with Genevieve and a few of the children.
With Lucian looking after the younger siblings, Genevieve left Armand at home.
After enjoying some time in the hot spring with the kids, Genevieve and Johanna settled under a shaded umbrella
by the shore. They sipped on juice and engaged in conversation.
Taking a few sips of her fruit tea, Genevieve inquired, “Has Timothy returned?”
“Not yet.”
“He's been away for three days now. By this time, he should've cooled off after his trip,” Genevieve remarked, her
lips pursed. She then asked Johanna, “Haven't you at least tried to call him once?”
Rubbing her temples, Johanna replied, “I've been occupied with designing clothes for Mr. Saafield's friend's tea
brand. Other matters have taken precedence.”
“Is that really the case? Even if it's just a simple call while having a meal, you could have reached out. It seems like
you're avoiding it intentionally and using 'being busy' as an excuse.”
However, Johanna's deal with Waylon indirectly benefited two of the company's artists, so Genevieve couldn't
complain.
Genevieve had initially contemplated taking Johanna's phone and sending Timothy a message in her style, urging
him to return before addressing any other concerns. However, she decided against it, deeming it inappropriate.
As they conversed, a woman wrapped in a towel approached them.
“Ms. Rachford. Mrs. Jensen.”

Beside her, Johanna whispered a reminder, “She's Charlotte's older sister, Jessica.”
With that prompt, Genevieve recollected the time she had accompanied Charlotte to visit Jessica's home.
As Jessica settled into a chair, she extended her gratitude to Genevieve. “Ms. Rachford, I wanted to thank you for
accompanying my sister during her visit to Baykeep. If she had gone alone, she might have faced some difficulties.”
Genevieve offered a friendly smile and responded, “Charlotte and I have a good rapport. Plus, I had some business
in Baykeep that day, so I was glad to assist her along the way.”
After exchanging a few pleasantries, Jessica couldn't contain her concerns and shared them with Genevieve, “While
Lottie isn't young anymore and I shouldn't meddle too much in her personal life, the fact remains that she hasn't
been in touch for months. She's not answering my calls, and it's been causing me considerable worry. Isn't Lottie
employed at your company, Ms. Rachford? She abruptly took an extended leave. Did she give you any indication of
her whereabouts?”
If Charlotte would just respond to her calls or reach out, Jessica's anxiety would significantly lessen.
However, from before the new year up to the present moment, Charlotte remained vanished without a trace.
Jessica couldn't gather any information about her from their mutual friends or even Timothy.
Her genuine concern for her sister was palpable.
