Chapter 443 You Are Not The Only One Invited “Genev? Genev?” Seeing that she was lost in her thoughts,
Johanna waved at her and urged, “The light has turned green…” Genevieve recollected herself and
ignited her car engine. Johanna took another glance at her and said, “There will always be reporters
who write nonsense to catch the public’s attention.
Don’t take it to heart.” Genevieve simply hummed and nodded absentmindedly. Upon arriving at
Genevieve Orsi Productions, Genevieve brought Johanna into the studio and informed her secretary to
call for a meeting at two with several management staff. During the meeting, she announced that
Johanna had been appointed as the new Fashion Director, a position she had just created. In addition,
Johanna would have full authority over all of the image styling teams for each of the company artists.
There was no need for her to seek permission or approval from her superior.
As soon as she said that, all of the upper management staff were baffled.
They were aware that Genevieve was the one to call the shots in Genevieve Orsi Productions because
she was the big boss.
Moreover, they had all seen her caliber through the various decisions made recently.
Therefore, there was not any strong objection against her arrangement despite them feeling slightly
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtperplexed. Moments later, Johanna had started burying herself in work. She was like a spinning top the
entire afternoon, working non-stop without a break.
By the time she knocked off, she felt like she was about to die.
She slumped into the car seat and grumbled, “Darnit, Genev, you are better than the capitalists in
oppressing your employees!” “Thanks for your hard work! Let me treat you to a big dinner.” Genevieve
coaxed her, “Let’s hit the bar thereafter and celebrate your divorce by finding you a cute, young guy.
How about that?” Immediately, Johanna sat upright, and there was a sparkle in her eyes.
“I’ll reject those who are eighteen and above.” When Genevieve drove past General Hospital, she
caught a glance of a young man seemingly trying to hail a cab.
She pulled her car over and wound down the window. “Dr.
Sitler.” Jermaine casually nodded his head and was surprised to see that it was Genevieve calling out
to him.
“Genevieve?” “Seems like you remember me.” She rested her arm on the window shield and
responded with a smile.
“I’ve been back for a while now, but I was too occupied with work.
Do you have time for a meal? My treat.” “Sure!” He nodded.
Then, Jermaine opened the car door and hopped inside, only to realize that Johanna was sitting in the
passenger seat. “Oh, you’re here too, Ms.
Joule?” “Why? Am I not welcomed here?” Johanna teased him, “Did you think that Genev invited you
for a private dinner?”
Embarrassed, Jermainerubbed his nose and said, “Nope.” “What are you up to, Genev?” Johanna
turned to Genevieve and pretended to be displeased.
“Didn’t I say that I don’t want anyone who is above eighteen years of age? Why did you ask Dr.
Sitler to join us? Don’t you know that the fox preys farthest from its hole?”
Jermaine seemingly understood what Johanna was hinting at and almost choked on his own saliva.
Genevieve caught a glance of Jermaine’s shocking expression from the rear view mirror and quickly
clarified, “She loves to joke, Dr.
Sitler.
Please don’t mind her.” Johanna arched her brow and asked, “I thought that you wanted Dr.
Sitler to…”
“No!”
“Well, I told you before that Dr.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmSitler did me a huge favor four years ago.
Since I ran into him today, I simply wanted to treat him to repay his kindness.” Genevieve cleared the
air. Johanna gave her a laconic reply and dropped the topic. It was already night fall when they arrived
at the barbecue restaurant. The trio ordered an array of dishes and chatted as they ate. Jermaine was
not a reserved man.
It did not take him long to get close to Genevieve and Johanna.
Moreover, they had a mutual friend, Timothy, whom he worked with at the same hospital.
Halfway through dinner, Johanna nudged Genevieve.
“Tell Dr.
Sitler.” “Tell him what?” Genevieve was puzzled. “You weren’t yourself at the office this afternoon.
I assumed it was because you were affected by the headlines, right?” Johanna suggested, “Since Dr.
Sitler is here, why don’t you get him to help you?”
Genevieve shook her head and continued eating, whereas Jermaine listened on.
Upon noticing Genevieve’s reluctance, he prompted, “Go ahead and tell me, Ms.
Rachford.
If there’s anything I can help you with, I will.” Johanna seized the opportunity and said, “You’re working
at General Hospital, right? We’d like to ask that you pay the gynecology department a visit when you’re
free and help us check on someone.
We just wanted to know if she has delivered a baby at your hospital.”
Subsequently, she provided Jermaine with some information about Sylvie.
