“Dr. Sitler;” Genevieve greeted one of the men with a white doctor’s coat.
Jermainc was surprised to scc Gonovicic, but he soon remembered something and nodded without meeting her gaze.
Genevieve asked politely. “When will you be frec? I wish to talk to you about something.”
**I need to see a patient first. It will take around half an hour.” Initially.Jermaine wanted to avoid Genevieve. However, she asked to talk to liim about some matter, so he could not rcfusc.
“You go ahead.” Genevieve replied. “I’ll wait for you in your office.”

Jane soon arrived and saw Genevieve standing before the cardiac surgery department. She instantly knew what Genevieve was up to and smiled bitterly. “Forget it, Genevieve. It is pointless.”
Jane had traveled overseas many times in recent years to seek treatment for her condition. However, she always returned in disappointment.
Furthermore, the doctors she consulted were all renowned figures in the medical field. Even wealthy people had a hard time hiring them for surgeries.
Since these renowned doctors could not do anything about her condition, Jane did not expect an ordinary doctor to be able to do anything.
“You have nothing urgent anyway, so you might as well let him check your condition,” Genevieve said. “He went to the same medical school as Timothy. Although he is young, he is highly skilled.”
Jane did not say anything but grunted in acknowledgment.
Jermaine returned to his office twenty minutes later.
Genevieve explained Jane’s condition to him and asked him to give her a health check-up.
Thus, Jermaine brought Jane to do an electrocardiogram. He conversed with her and learned about her symptoms during flare-ups, causing him to frown.
After returning to the office, Jermaine explained to Jane, “Heart disease is mostly hereditary. It could be inherited from parents or intergenerational. Furthermore, you were born premature, so you naturally have a weak immune system. I believe none of the doctors in the country o overseas dares to operate on you.”
Jane’s eyes dimmed at his words. “I have consulted many doctors overseas. They all said the success rate of surgery is only three percent.”
“I have come across another patient with a similar condition as yours. He was eighteen years old, and I gave him surgery,” Jermaine said.
“Was the surgery successful?” Genevicvc asked.
“It was,” Jermaine answered, prompting Jane and Genevieve’s eyes to brighten with hope.
However, Jermaine soon sighed and said, “Unfortunately, the surgery raised his chances of recurrence. He had a recurrence less than four years after surgery and passed away on the same day.”

Jane considered for a long time before saying to Jermaine in a determined tone, “I hope you can operate on me.”
Jermaine refused, “No. After this surgery, the recurrence is going to be fatal if you end up having one. You could live longer if you continue to take your medicine. At least, you would live longer than four years.”
“I might be able to live longer without surgery. However, I might also go to sleep any day and never wake up again. I’ve been taking medicine since I was a child, and I took them more frequently than having my meals. Sometimes, my condition is so severe that I can only lie in bed…” Jane replied bitterly,
Her gaze was firm with resolve as she looked at Jermaine and continued, “I wish to become healthy. Then, I can go anywhere and do anything I want, like an ordinary healthy person. Even if being healthy would only allow me to live for four years, I am willing to accept that.”
Jermaine did not know what to say. He turned to Genevieve for help, but she said, “If this surgery is doable for you, I hope you can respect her choice.”
“Sure,” Jermaine agreed in the end. “I will a
