"Did you tell Grandma that it was my idea to lie about being pregnant?" Edwin continued to ask.

Joanne still did not answer him.

"Answer me!" Edwin had been driving for seven hours all the way to Kansas City. He was so exhausted that he was

on the verge of exploding in anger.

He stretched out his hand to grab Joanne's jaw. "Are you dumb? Speak!"
