108 Chapter 108 Recovery and Rest
(Desmond POV)
Three days have passed since my epically painful battle against the dark-edged creeper tiger who, in addition to having an unnecessarily long name, possessed a strength that frankly still bothers me with the mere memory; if I’m honest I have to admit that part of my victory can be attributed to sheer luck and to be honest I don’t like that feeling.
Fortunately, Sasha has been working on the compound that she will use to improve my bow, soo I will be a lot more prepared for any kind of battle I had to face in the immediate future, I am not too clear about the details, but it seems that the process is divided into two stages.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThe first involves revitalizing the organic tissue of the bow with a special compound and the second step involves injecting an enhancement solution into the bow and then pouring a large amount of mana into it to help finalize the enhancement.
It appears that Sasha will use the Entangling Tiger Heart which is overflowing with a tremendous amount of pure mana of the ideal affinities as the main material in the second step upgrade solution and part of the Creeper Tiger’s horns will be added to the bow as auxiliary upgrade material and catalyst.
As for how the heck this is done or how it works in the first place, you’d have to be an alchemist at least half as talented as Sasha to just begin to understand, even I can only bow in respect for the ridiculous amount of talent Sasha had as an alchemist; because according to with a little chat a had with Elaisa about this particular profession when I got a little interest in the subject before, to be an alchemist someone need not only certain amount of physical talent but you had to study all kind of subjects, after all, they are basically a scientist.
In these three days, I had also not been resting on my laurels while watching Sasha work. . . ok maybe that’s exactly what I had been doing, this was due to a large amount of damage I took from my fight with the idiot tiger, Sasha’s potion helped repair most of the muscle and nerve damage but the damage was bone it would take more time; Furthermore, Sasha mentioned that it was not ideal to depend completely on potions to heal as they had their own secondary effects that with excessive use would become a problem in itself.
Luckily for me, I had the perfect replacement approved by Sasha to speed up my healing, that replacement was the tiger meat vine; Sasha wasn’t kidding when she said it was full of nutrients and energy, in just three days of including it in my diet I could already feel like my wounds were almost completely healed.
But spending three days half invalid was a new experience for a person as restless as me who usually always spent his days busy with one thing or another, which is why the first day was like hell on earth; at least I could enjoy watching Sasha blushing every time we see each other, oh boy, she is indeed soo cute.
.....
I spent the entire second day taking the bark plates that were removed from the creeping tiger and carving arrows from them, after hearing from Sasha that this material had exceptional hardness with low weight, as well as great conductivity to mana wood type.
I had my good luck to thank for this as the special arrows in my secondary quiver had been in short supply since the beginning of my journey and now I had found a replacement for them, a fairly good replacement in quality and quantity; Well, with the size of the creeper tiger, it took me the entire second and part of the third day to carve the arrows, even with the help of some tools that Sasha lent me from her laboratory.
Speaking of her, even after three days things had been a bit awkward between us since that incident in the bathtub, for my part it was difficult to determine whether or not I could act with some degree of intimacy with her and on Sasha’s part. . . well, she blushes furiously every time she looks into her eyes.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAt least we could live together in peace until now, I hate to admit it, but I really like the girl, she could well be the first woman I wanted to be friends with. Sasha was smart, dedicated, kind, funny, and very cute; it really made a person fall in love with her, but given how little I have lived with her I don’t think there is much hope in maintaining a relationship only of friendship between us, she can pretend ignorance all she wants, but she cannot hide being in love in his eyes.
To be honest, having a girl like Sasha madly in love with you is something any man would enjoy including myself, but I am well aware that I will not stay in this world forever, and unlike other women in the past; a one-night stand would do Sasha more harm than good.
′′ Hell why can’t my life be easier ′′ I exclaimed in exasperation at my current situation.
(Are you serious? Easier? Why don’t you go and fight another creeper tiger if you think it’s that easy)
For a moment I thought I had heard the voice of the universe goad me to do something stupid, but as lucrative as the gathering of materials from the Dark-edged Tiger Creeper turned out; I don’t think I would try something so reckless again anytime soon.
In any case, as soon as I finished recovering and resting, should I start looking for a way to complete my stupid mining materials gathering mission, or would end up spending an eternity before I could leave this incredibly complicated name planet.
′′ Desmond come to the laboratory and bring your bow with you, everything is ready to begin the improvement process. ′′ Sasha’s voice echoed in the room where I was still storing my now vast arsenal of arrows informing me of the beginning of my bow upgrade.
Seeing my trusty companion next to me, I felt slightly homesick for a moment, which may seem ridiculous given the amount of time I’ve actually spent with my gentle bow-fox; But given the way I obtained it and the few but significant battles it had accompanied me, I considered it normal to be fond of the elegant looking weapon, plus I really liked the way the decorations made from dark predatory spider silk glowed when he carried an arrow with mana.
′′ Come on little one, it’s time you got a serious update and when it’s done we’ll go hunting a couple of big boys to celebrate. ′′ With that said I headed to Sasha’s lab with the bow in my hand.
