164 Chapter 164 Wealth in the Cave
It took Desmond almost an hour to collect the materials in the cave even with the hunter’s book, by the time he finished he had reached the limit of materials that he could remove from a single world; even so, Desmond was incredibly happy especially with his find of three rare minerals.
Desmond wanted both materials for obvious reasons, according to the mission request the person who commissioned the association was an extremely skilled blacksmith who was looking for materials from his home planet to train a disciple.
The reward was an armor set of at least one-star class, but it was also specified that by delivering a certain amount of materials the blacksmith would be willing to use higher-level materials and make the armor set according to Desmond’s specifications.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtIn the same way, a similar clause applied to the second reward that was a weapon, having seen the ridiculous amount of materials in this place Desmond had already begun to consider what type of armor or weapon he would want to order from the blacksmith and now seeing this pair of materials Desmond had an idea in mind.
As for the third material that caught Desmond’s attention, it was not related to the forging of a weapon or armor but was related to a small project that Desmond had planned in the past when he bought some wind chimes on his date with Claire.
You could say that the reason Desmond wanted this particular material was an experiment and a personal hobby of his, and using material like this for such a thing was a complete waste. . . But even so, Desmond planned to use it that way, in the end, he decided to follow Claire’s advice and enjoy life a bit without always thinking about the pros and cons.
Desmond had kept Claire’s words in mind since he came to Erack’s world and although for a person who is largely pragmatic (when not a carefree idiot) it was very difficult to change his habits and way of thinking about certain matters; he still tried to take things a little more calmly enjoying the little things.
In part that was why Desmond agreed to follow Sasha and live with her in the first place. Desmond found the girl’s company pleasant and thought that he might as well have more than just a beneficial relationship with her.
Other things that Desmond would never normally do was sit and drink tea so quietly, he had been a person who had always had to worry for one reason or another, and moments of peace like that weren’t part of his life.
.....
Ironically for the hunter, making it easy ended up helping him in one way or another, Desmond who never in his life would take the time to meditate watching the moonlight in the spring ended up having an inspiration that resulted in developing the skill Full-Drive.
In the same way, if he had not advanced in his relationship with Sasha, it was likely that she would not give him the dual strengthening potions, since the deal between them only included the improvement of the bow and the armor.
Finally, if he had not gotten so close to her, they would not have had that conversation after Desmond had massacred those bandits and without that conversation Desmond would not have overcome his guilt to a certain extent, thus achieving the mental state he needed to later develop his new skill based on the steel claw.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThinking this far, Desmond remembered that he hadn’t given the ability a name until now.
′′ Let’s see, mega steel claw? No, that sounds pathetic. . . Claw of the Supreme Steel Tyrant. . . God, I’m very bad at this. ′′ After naming a couple more ridiculous names, Desmond channeled the mana into his body and activated the ability to observe it closely.
′′ Well, to begin with, it no longer shines with intense golden color as before, now it looks more like the color of steel, in any case, the original ability should have been called a gold claw or something like that; let’s see. . . now it looks like a steel gauntlet. . . Hmm, to hell I’ll make it simple; I suppose I′m gonna name it ¨Merciless Steel Gauntlet¨
It’s a bit long, but I like it. . . Now that I think about it, this is the third skill that I have developed since I arrived here and I have developed two of them in combat; I guess it’s easier to develop those kinds of skills that way. ′′
After giving his new skill a somehow decent name, Desmond decided it was time to go back to the cabin and hoped Sasha was done getting ready; although if the girl needed a little more time Desmond would give it to her.
On the way back Desmond decided to take a quick look at his status page to see how he had progressed in his week here at Erack.
Noting the small changes on the status page, Desmond continued his way to Sasha′s house.
