173 Chapter 173 Unexpected Reaction
(Third person POV)
′′ How should I put it? Is everyone in your world idiots? ′′ Such was Claire’s response as soon as she finished listening to Sasha’s story.
Sasha for her part had expected various types of responses, but she did not think that Claire’s first reaction would be to insult all living beings in her world, to be fair in this kind of situation it would be normal for Claire to be skeptical or indifferent to her respect and simply proceed to question Sasha regarding her relationship with Desmond.
′′ What are you talking about? ′′
Claire gave Sasha a strange look before answering:
′′ We can put aside the fact that they were foolish enough to antagonize someone like Desmond, after all, it’s not their fault that they don’t know what kind of man he is.
But it doesn’t matter how you look at it. . . You don’t exactly look like an evil being or anything like that, I mean even I feel a little jealous of your adorable but seductive appearance; even if you put that aside it was obvious that they had more important problems at hand than trying to capture a girl who lives alone in the forest.
To put it another way, if Desmond had never come to your world there is a real possibility that you would end up dying at the hands of that necromancer or the knights of Kalmerá, once that happened it would only be a matter of time before thousands died at the hands of the necromancer’s undead army.
It doesn’t matter from what angle you look at it. . . the people in that place seem a bit stupid. ′′
.....
Hearing Claire’s reasoning, Sasha replied with a bitter smile before nodding slightly, she had no other choice; the Kalmerá people had mixed up their priority list.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt′′ As for you. . . an exquisite lonely beauty who lives in the forest, only Desmond would be lucky enough to have such an encounter, you also happen to be an incredibly talented alchemist as well as an absurdly powerful fire mage; at least I don’t think you’re going to be a burden. ′′
As soon as she heard the word burden, Sasha immediately got up from her seat and replied enthusiastically:
′′ I will never be a burden to Desmond, I am not good at housework nor do I have many social skills, but when it comes to alchemy I have absolute confidence in myself and although I do not like to fight much, I will do it if necessary; I’ll do whatever it takes to take, even a little bit of the burden Desmond carries on his shoulders. ′′
Claire was taken by surprise by Sasha’s energetic outburst, but by the time she finished hearing what the girl had to say, Claire had already had an idea of ??what kind of girl Sasha was; As much as Claire hated to admit it, Sasha was a good girl and she had no reason to reject her.
Deep down, Claire had already gotten used to sharing Desmond even if she didn’t know the women he was sleeping with, in a way Claire felt more comfortable knowing that at least she knew Sasha and knew the kind of girl she was.
It was much better for Claire to have a warm-hearted, beautiful girl like Sasha by Desmond’s side rather than those sluts who were only interested in what they could get out of him.
At least Sasha was more interested in Desmond’s well-being than any other woman in her life besides herself, plus Sasha seemed capable enough; having thought this far Claire just let out a light sigh and asked.
′′ You love him, don’t you? ′′
Sasha had expected such a question to be asked sooner or later so, without even flinching for a single second, Sasha looked Claire directly in the eye as she calmly answered with a soft but sure: “Yes.”
′′ I see. . . in that case Sasha welcomes to the family. ′′
Having finished her brief interrogation, Claire handed her final verdict to Sasha, to no one’s surprise Claire decided to accept Sasha into her home; by the end of the day, Claire had foreseen that a scenario like this could have long ago so it could be said that she adapted easily.
′′ And I had worried for a moment, but it seems that little Claire is a more mature girl than she seems, I’m happy for you little Sasha, can I call you little Sasha? I hope so or I almost forgot I haven’t even introduced myself; Hello my name is Kyuru and I am the most adorable fairy in the universe I hope we get along. ′′
After dropping the invisibility spell that she had been using all this time, Kyuru appeared unexpectedly and began to speak without any concern in the world, before her sudden appearance Sasha was quite surprised while on the other hand Claire was exasperated.
′′ Kyuru had already told you to stop using that ability to spy on others. ′′
′′ Not true, you asked Kyuru to stop following you to school to spy on you using this ability, you didn’t say anything about using it at home. ′′ Responding in a mischievous way little Kyuru even stuck her tongue out at Claire before flying out of the room.
Completely helpless by the unruly attitude of the fairy, Claire decided to leave that topic for another time and take Sasha with her, leaving the basement both girls saw Desmond in the kitchen busy cooking while he checked some things on the holographic screen of the hunter’s book.
′′ He is always like this? ′′ Sasha couldn’t help asking.
Hearing the question, Claire shifted her gaze between Desmond and Sasha a few times before shaking her head.
′′ That’s the kind of man he is, he just can’t stay still, besides he is surely preparing something to try to improve my mood; sometimes I think he treats me like a spoiled child. . . but I don’t hate that about him. ′′
Sasha who had experienced that slightly paternal side of Desmond’s personality understood quite well what Claire was talking about, but in the same way she did not dislike the way his beloved was.
′′ Desmond, you have to put more strawberries on my plate, your fairy orders you. ′′
′′ Yes, yes, whatever the majestic Kyuru wants. ′′
As soon as Sasha and Claire got close enough they witnessed the mischievous fairy making irrational demands on the poor cook again, it must be said that for fairies there are few interests other than jokes and food so this was not so strange, but Claire felt that the fairy had been acting too unreasonable lately.
′′ Kyuru. ′′
′′Yes? ′′
′′ I missed you. ′′
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe fairy blushed a little after hearing Desmond’s sincere statement and replied shyly: ′′ I missed you too Desmond. ′′
After that brief exchange, the attitude of the fairy seemed to change slightly and she no longer seemed so hopelessly energetic, Claire seeing the fairy behaving better-sighed relief at the same time that she felt that it was unfair that the fairy only listened to Desmond; Ultimately Claire didn′t make any comment on it because she knew she would get nowhere arguing with the fairy.
Dinner went smoothly with a slightly uncomfortable atmosphere on the table, it couldn’t be helped, even with what was said between Claire and Sasha added to what the girls told Desmond it was unlikely that their coexistence would become harmonious from one moment to the other.
When they finished Kyuru offered to take Sasha to choose one of the guest rooms in the house, while Claire and Desmond were left alone to talk.
′′ It seems that you and Sasha are getting along. ′′ Desmond said nervously.
′′ Did you expect me to make a fuss about it? ′′ Sasha replied with some mockery.
′′ Rather, I did not know what to expect. ′′
′′ I see. . . Do you love her? ′′ There was a brief pause, but Sasha finally asked the question that she had kept all this time.
′′. . . I like her, I am fond of her, she is a good girl who did not deserve anything that happened to her, she was very helpful to me and she is very talented, she can be very helpful to us in the future; we shared a little intimacy and I would feel bad leaving her alone in her world. ′′ Desmond explained his reasoning, but he didn’t sound entirely convinced by his own words.
′′ It wasn′t what I asked. ′′ Sasha interrupted.
Desmond hesitated for a few moments, but in the end, he replied: ′′I thought so, at least what I feel for her is a lot like what I feel for you; She’s never gonna replace you, but . . she is special to me too. ′′
′′ I thought so... Did you have sex with her? ′′ Sasha nodded at Desmond’s words before asking a question that caught Desmond off guard.
′′ no, not yet. ′′ Desmond just shook his head as he replied.
Sasha nodded briefly before saying, “Okay, then have sex with me. ′′
′′ okay. . . wait, what? ′′
