Chapter 234

Upon hearing this, Jack smiled at Elysia. “Are you being harsh on them? Alright, let's go with your suggestion.”
Fabian watched the pair as they shared whispers, their voices soft, with only a few words audible. The rest was
hard to make out, but the expressions on their faces seemed somewhat strange.
Jack walked over to them with a stiff posture. “Youngsters, cwith me,” he called out before striding ahead.
Raising an eyebrow, Fabian chose to stay silent and followed Jack outside.
Noticing that Fabian had left, Javier, who had seemed so relaxed before, turned to look at Elysia. Usually so
expressive about his feelings, he found himself briefly at a loss for words. A faint smile spread across his face
before he followed.
Elysia was momentarily captivated by the charm of his grin; it truly was enchanting, as if it marked the return of
spring itself. His smile radiated warmth like a sunbeam shining through a winter's chill-comforting and uplifting.
“Elysia, are you not coming with us?”
At the sound of Holden's voice, Elysia snapped back to reality. She looked at him standing in the courtyard and
replied casually, “You guys go ahead; I'll join you shortly.”
Holden nodded and made his way out of the courtyard.
The once bustling courtyard soon fell into quiet. Elysia saw Moka lounging on the ground and bent down to give
its head a gentle pat. “Moka, go find Phoebe and bring her to the river where we often go.”
Moka seemed to understand her request, getting up and scampering away from the courtyard. Elysia headed
back inside to grab her gear before heading toward the river.
Connected to the wooden cottage was a quaint house, and the courtyard was much more spacious than the
cottage itself. A little channel flowed directly into an outer stream.
The entrance had a simple wooden gate that gave off a rustic vibe, leading into a path made of stone slabs and
lined with beautiful flowers.
The murmur of the flowing water was like a sweet song, and the air was filled with the lovely scent of the stream.

the hills.
“Elysia usually spends her tin this courtyard; everything here has been arranged by her own hands. Please,
make yourselves comfortable while | get scoffee ready,” Jack said.
After Jack left, Javier couldn't help but smile as he said, “I never thought Elysia had such great taste in
decorating. She really has a talent for making the courtyard look so unique-she’s truly insightful.”
“You're right,” Fabian agreed, looking thoughtfully around the courtyard. Remembering the architectural style of
Arcanum House, a faint smile appeared on his normally serious face.
He said, “She really likes old-style houses. When we get back to Jorlandia, | think I'll build one like this for her.”
Jack cback. Noticing that the group was still standing, he encouraged them to sit down.
Holden asked, “Jack, where did Elysia go?”
Jack said, “Oh, you know how she is. She probably just needed sspace or something.”
“You do realize you didn’t actually answer my question, right?” Holden pressed.

Jack shot him an annoyed glance. “You don’t seem particularly bright. If you can’t figure out where she went,
what am | supposed to do?”
Holden felt as if a knife had been shoved into his chest.
Javier said, “Holden, it should be clear to you now that we weren't lying before; you really are quite foolish.”
“Javier, why are you saying that?” Holden asked, feeling a bit hurt.

“I'm simply speaking the truth,” Javier replied, contemplating how Holden's good looks and charisma could
sustain him in the entertainment industry. Otherwise, his lack of intellect might leave him with little to show for
his efforts.
After being critiqued by Javier, Holden decided to stay quiet, feeling determined to distance himself from Javier
from that day on. He would see if Javier dared to treat him with such disdain again.
Fabian, as expected, paid no attention to their bickering. He turned to Jack and spoke respectfully, “Jack, do you
know where Elysia is?”
Jack poured the coffee for everyone. “Elysia has gone to the river to catch sfish; she’ll be back soon.”
“Catch fish?” Holden asked, skepticism showing on his face.
“Yes, she mentioned wanting to catch a couple of fish to treat you all,” Jack explained.
Raising an eyebrow, Fabian asked, “Jack, would you mind taking us to her?”
Hearing this, Jack put down his cup and stood. “Follow me.”
He led them to a river, where they saw Elysia using a spear to catch fish. With her pants rolled up, her skin
glistening in the water, her figure sparkled under the sun.
The spear was lifted high before dropping steadily into the water. When pulled back up, it had speared a fish,
which she tossed into a nearby wooden barrel, causing Moka to bark excitedly.
Phoebe had also managed to catch a fish, but since it was too slippery, it flopped back into the water. Wiping her
face dry, Phoebe bent down to try catching another.
Fabian and the others, still hidden, watched Elysia’s skilled movements, their hearts aching at the sight of
someone who deserved to be cherished by everyone, yet had to struggle through challenges while growing up in
a place like this.
She must have endured countless hardships to becthe person she is now.
Meanwhile, Phoebe finally succeeded in catching a fish and tossed it into the wooden barrel. After wiping sweat
from her brow, she bent down again to catch another one.
But Elysia peeked into the barrel and said, “Phoebe, there's no need to keep catching; we have enough.”
Phoebe looked at her, puzzled. “Are you sure? There are hardly any.”
Elysia glanced at the five fish in the barrel and nodded. She had only meant to catch two, and with these extra
ones, they had already done their guests a big favor. .”
Seeing Elysia’s néd, Phoebe agreed. Just as they were about to carry the barrel back, the group hidden from view

Phoebe was completely taken aback, staring at the three strikingly handsmen before her. No wonder she
had heard whispers about sdashing newcomers in the village; at first, she hadn't thought much of it, but
now it was clearly true.
Elysia, seeing Phoebe utterly starry-eyed, teasingly scolded her, “Phoebe, can you not be so obvious in your
admiration?”

“You might not care about your appearance.” Elysia assessed her, clicking her tongue. “If | were one of those
guys, | wouldn't look your way.”
“Elysia, are you making fun of how I look?”
“I'm not; I'm just curious which handsguy would go for a love-struck girl like you. Could you at least try to
keep your cool?”
“What are you talking about?” Holden interrupted as he finally stepped up to her.
