Chapter 375
As she heard the warmth in Olive’s voice, Lindsey's eyes filled with tears. Without thinking, she threw herself
into Olive’s arms. Her voice broke as she whispered, “Grandma...”
Olive gently patted her back, shaking her head with a soft smile. “You've grown up, but you still act like a little
kid.”
Lindsey looked up at her, blinking rapidly, a small simile tugging at her lips. “With you, I'll always be a little kid.”
Olive smiled and reached up to tap her lightly on the forehead. “You were so small back then. | worried you
wouldn't grow but now look at you. Not only did you grow tall, but you turned out so beautiful.”
As Olive spoke, her eyes becmisty. She couldn't help but remember the little girl who had knelt in front of
her, crying and begging to be sent abroad.
Lindsey had been about twelve or thirteen, but she looked more like a seven-year-old, so tiny and fragile. Olive
had been afraid to hold her too tightly, worried she might break her.
Olive’s heart ached for Lindsey. She had never been loved by her own mother, and after her mom passed away,
Ashley took control of her life. From such a young age, she had faced so much pain.
Olive sighed deeply, Back then, she'd been living with Edward. Lindsey, soft and quiet, never talked about her
struggles. Sometimes, she would even avoid Olive. It wasn’t until Olive overheard a few rumors that she went to
Jim to ask what was going on.
Javier had brushed her off with a few words, and Lindsey had said nothing. She insisted she was fine.
Then, when Lindsey was twelve, she had cried and knelt before Olive, begging her to send her abroad. That
image of Lindsey, crying uncontrollably, had stayed with Olive all these years. Every tshe thought about it,
her heart broke.
Lindsey had been so young, and yet she had already endured so much.
At first, Olive had wanted to bring Lindsey to live with her and take care of her herself. But Lindsey refused.
Eventually, Olive couldn't change her mind and reluctantly agreed to send her abroad.

In the years since Lindsey left, Olive often woke up in the middle of the night, worrying about how she was doing
on her own. She couldn't help but feel that Lindsey had faced too much hardship for someone so young.
Lindsey gently wiped the tears from Olive’s face. “Grandma, please don’t cry.”
“I won't, Lindsey,” Olive replied, wiping her eyes, her voice shaky with emotion.
Lindsey took a deep breath, her voice soft but determined. “Grandma, I'm not leaving this time. | bought a villa
in Jorlandia, and | want you to move in with me. Please?”
Olive blinked in confusion, trying to understand. “Move in with you? You wantto live with you? And you'll
take care of me?”
Olive reached out, gently patting Lindsey’s head, a warm smile on her face. “I'm okay here, sweetie. Moving
around is too much trouble. And | don’t want to be a burden to you.”
“You're not a burden!” Lindsey teased, sticking her tongue out at Olive. But then her face grew serious.
“Grandma, even if you don’t move in with me, I still don’t want you living here. You should go live with Edward
instead, okay?”
Olive raised an eyebrow, clearly puzzled. “What's going on today? Why can’t | stay here?”
Lindsey hesitated, looking down for a moment, clearly struggling to find the right words. After a beat, she spoke
quietly. “It's

Lindsey wasn’t being completely honest. She knew Jim wasn’t trustworthy, and Ashley and her daugther had a

Olive chuckled softly, shaking her head. “Silly girl, no need to thank me? She patted Lindsey's back gently. T

Olive had two sons, both well-known figures in Jorlandia. If Lindsey took Olive and moved out people would

Lindsey looked up at Olive, meeting her gaze. “Grandma, I'll take you to Edward’s tomorrow
She was just relieved Olive wouldn't be staying at Jim's house anymore. That was all that mattered
As Lindsey stepped out of Olive’s room, she almost ran into Esther, who was walking toward her. Lindsey ignored
her pretending she hadn't seen her.
But Esther wasn’t about to let it slide. She stopped right in front of Lindsey, crossed her arms, and gave her a
sing challenging look. “Well, well, if it isn't my dear sister. What's up? Still showing off Off to grandma's to
complain again?”
Lindsey didn’t even glance at her. She just kept walking, brushing past Esther without missing a beat
A couple of steps later, she felt a hand grab her wrist. Lindsey turned, her gaze cold, to find Esther glaring at her,
her face flushed with anger. “Lindsey, do you have any manners? I'm talking to you!”
“Manners?” Lindsey raised an eyebrow, not slowing down. “You're talking about manners, but you can’t even call
“Sis? You think you deserve that?” Esther scoffed, but her grip on Lindsey's wrist didn’t loosen
Lindsey glanced down at the hand holding her, her expression dripping with disdain. “If you don’t let go, | swear
I'll make you regret it.”

Esther's eyes widened. “Are you serious?”
“You can try me,” Lindsey said, her tone flat and calm.
There was no threat in her voice, but Esther felt a chill run down her spine. After a beat, she hesitated, then
slowly let go of Lindsey's wrist, though she clearly wasn’t happy about it.
But Lindsey wasn’t done. She turned to a maid standing nearby. “Geta tissue.”
“Yes, Ms. Lindsey Evans,” the maid replied, nodding quickly before walking off.

Esther's face turned bright red with fury. “Lindsey, what's your problem?”
Lindsey shrugged casually. “Isn’t it obvious? I just think you're filthy.”

Lindsey took it, tically wiping her wrist as if something filthy had touched her. She shot a quick glance at
Esther, who was still standing there, frozen in shock. Lindsey's smile grew wider. She thought Esther looked like a
pampered princess.
Lindsey turned to leave, but then she stopped as if an idea just hit her. She looked back at Esther. “Esther, here's
sadvice. Watch your step. You'd better keep a low profile. My temper’s not something you want to test”
