208 Chapter 207: True pillars of the Gyro kingdom
He could see the duo seated neatly with their hairs fluttering in the wind and their faces unperturbed by the current situation of things. The death of the son of heaven and Archmage Kratos was no minor issue. The kingdom seemed to be in turmoil but with the presence of the duo, everything seemed to fall under control.
The son of heaven may have been a man who achieved the dreams of Gods for the human race but in the end, he is still notably inferior to his sons and he was proud of that from the very first day.
The greatest joy and pride of the Gyro Kingdom has never been the son of heaven but his descendants!
It was a great thing to have a powerful sovereign who knows what needs to be done but it is another thing entirely to have two more capable descendants as a sovereign who is not too busy fighting over for the throne but has the mind of the kingdom at heart. With the duo standing, King Robert had no regrets about dying.
“If these two think they have what it takes to stand against me then they must be completely naive!” Damon hissed those words with cruel eyes as his power began surging.
Hmph!
As if in response to his words Gerald and Dillian snorted with indifference in their eyes. Where they were seated, a massive water orb could be seen above them, and on it were images of Damon and his approaching forces.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtIf Damon was present he would be stunned to see a similar image across the entire capital.
From the capital, they could somehow monitor everything happening around the kingdom. That way they knew where Damon’s forces were going and his intentions. All they needed to do now is to keep him out.
.....
“Can you two handle him, or do I need to get involved?” a familiar figure stood behind the duo with aloof eyes.
Great sorrow could be seen in his eyes but he did his best to suppress it. While he is the youngest among the Dukes, he possessed the memories of the former werewolves who served the son of heaven originally. He understood the son of heaven perfectly and truly loved his sovereign.
That’s why even though he had an obligation to Damon as a part of the Hail family in the past, he still turned his back on him for the sake of the kingdom and the son of heaven to whom he swore loyalty.
“Father and Uncle Kratos died holding him back while we get to formation. That was the purpose of the whole sacrifice. Don’t waste it” Dillian responded indifferently as he gazed at the face visible on the water sphere above and killing intent could be seen visibly in his eyes.
This man killed his father!
“You don’t have to worry about anything. We will naturally get you involved when the time comes” Gerald seemed calmer than his brother as he gave a better response.
“But Pope Light?” Duke Hail seemed reluctant to let the matter slide.
With the son of heaven and the archmage, Kratos was killed. The only one standing between Damon and his forces and the kingdom was Pope Light.
The time bought by the son of heaven was enough for him to return to the walls and rally the troops there. Under his command, they became more effective and organized.
“He is too far off on the front lines. I had him make some preparations for our first line of defense before returning to the capital. You don’t have to worry about his safety, we have him covered” Gerald said casually but his voice boomed across the kingdom thanks to the formation.
His words were bone-chilling and would send chills down the spine of everyone who heard it but the confidence in his voice made them believe everything was going according to his plan.
“What are our chances of victory?” Duke Hail asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Normally I would say about zero percent if we all got killed outside by the death mage but thanks to the old man and uncle, we should be tied at fifty percent” Dillian responded indifferently.
Meanwhile, Damon stood listening to their voices enhanced by the formation. His eyes narrowed as he hated it when people gauged his strength even when the to be knew nothing of his true power. He wanted to speak but he didn’t seem to get the chance.
Rumble!
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe world trembled as the four great magic towers surrounding the kingdom lit up and the magic crystals at the peak of each magic tower glowed fiercely as what could be considered a shower of mana beams raced forward, covering the entire sky!
Swoosh!
Seeing this even Damon was moved. His face twisted into a cold look as his vision was completely blocked by the attack!
Hmph!
Damon remained unmoved as all the attacks blew past him and attacked his army, leaving him stunned!
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Explosions erupted amongst the army of the dead as the attacks rained down on them. Damon was stunned as this was an unexpected turn of events. His shocked gaze quickly shifted to the army below and he realized over tens of thousands of undead soldiers affected by the attack were gone!
Completely destroyed!
His undead soldier killed permanently?
Damon’s eyes chilled as his gaze shifted to the magic towers and the golden light glowing within the blue crystal core. As a kingdom responsible for the creation of the holy church and the death of at least two generations of Life mage guardian spirit hosts, it would be a thing of shame if they didn’t have a way to counter the life or death mage since they have been battling them for close to five centuries now.
“As expected of the kingdom I was born into. Defeating it won’t be easy but that is exactly what makes it fun!” Damon seemed unmoved by the death of his undead soldiers, instead, he felt amused and excited.
