Chapter 799 There was a medical conference with industry leaders, and Sebastian managed to get a ticket for Nadine.

Since the conference was not held in Janctera City but in Pittsbrew, Nadine had to travel for it. After entrusting Sean to Avery, she boarded a plane bound for Pittsbrew.

Pittsbrew lay west of Janctera City. With its humid climate and pleasant air, it was renowned as a food lover's paradise.

Sebastian had been the one invited to the conference, not Nadine. He was the real star of the event. Nadine, knowing her place, stayed quietly by his side, refraining from any overly intimate gestures.

From her perspective, even though she was now divorced and single, she still couldn't see Sebastian as anything more than a friend-if even that.

Sebastian had somehow managed to get his hands on the lecture notes from the attending professors. Even though they were just photocopies, she devoured the pages eagerly and only put them away when the flight attendant announced their arrival.

Sebastian didn't bring his assistant on this trip, so it was just the two of them. When they got off the plane, he took her luggage, and the two of them hopped into a cab headed straight for a five-star hotel in Pittsbrew. Conveniently, the conference would be held on the top floor of the hotel, saving them both a lot of hassle.

This taround, Sebastian had been a tremendous help to Nadine. As she watched him carry her luggage, she couldn't help but think that if she hadn't had Sean, hadn't married Brad, and had met Sebastian sooner, maybe she would've fallen for this young, considerate man.

"But that's just life. Sometimes you meet the right person at the wrong time," she thought. Even though she was single, had every right to pursue her own happiness, and knew that Sebastian was into her, she just couldn't open her heart to him.

He was wonderful-attentive, chivalrous the perfect partner. If only it had been six years ago, she would have been open to falling for Sebastian. But that wasn't the case, and she couldn't turn back time. She simply couldn't let him all the way in.

Nadine admitted that for a brief moment, she thought about relying on Sebastian and being with him for the long haul. But in reality, wanting to be together wasn't enough. Between her and Sebastian stood not only Sean but the whole Hamilton family.

His gaze held a hint of mischief, a touch of curiosity, and a trace of genuine hope. His tone, however, was lighthearted, as though he was merely joking with her.

No one could tell how nervous he was feeling inside at that moment. m He desperately wanted to hear the answer he'd longed for from Nadine. However, he knew all too well that she didn't feel the sway about him. At least, not the way he felt about her.

Sometimes, he considered letting go. He tried to silence the feelings he had for her but it was no use. The harder Ο he tried to suppress his feelings and ignore her, the more he longed to see her and be close to her. Now that he finally had a chance to be alone with her, he had the opportunity to express the feelings that he had struggled to put into words.
