QT: Grace To Grass Counterattack System
Chapter 157 I Became The Top Cultivator With My Harem Of Beauties Beside Me 30The both of them calmly rode towards the Cloud peak. When they arrived, all the disciples were gathered on front of the great hall, waiting for the sect master and elders to arrive.
He Yuan's eyes automatically went to the area where he was feeling intense glares from and there, he locked eyes with Mo Jiu -who was surrounded by the bunch of disciples glaring at him.
He simply ignored the glares and focused on Mo Jiu. Mo Jiu looked... Normal. He Yuan didn't know what he was expecting but he'd hoped the drug would've had a better effect. He shrugged and looked away. Anyways, he'd prepared a different method and had refined better drugs as his cultivation level increased. He would not fail a second time.
Mo Jiu calmly looked from Mo Sheng to Gu Long and he scoffed. This was the reason Gu Long had betrayed him? For Mo Sheng? What was the incentive? Mo Sheng was just trash so how had he coaxed Gu Long?
After thinking of all he'd gone through in seclusion, he clenched his fists. Without the antidote or Gu Long's pills, he'd suffered through the first week with a hard on that made him repeatedly lose focus so he'd blocked his meridians at his lower half to cut off all feeling.
Another problem had risen then. With his meridians blocked, he wasn't able to properly cultivate as the meridians were the channels for qi distribution. He gave up and had sneaked out of the sect and used a teleportation talisman to bring a female cultivator into his seclusion chamber.
Due to being repressed for so long, he had plundered her with reckless abandon and she had lost her life in the process. He had been shocked but then he realized that his body had subconsciously absorbed her life essence and his hard on had died down.
Even if he practiced an evil cultivation method, he'd managed to stay hidden for so long because he didn't feel the blood lust that other evil cultivators did. He knew it was because he was different, he hadn't intended to practice evil cultivation. It was because he had no choice. It was a dog eat dog world so he had to become strong.
If he had been born with a spiritual root then all this would not have happened. He had been so young when he found the diary. By the time he grew up and realized it was an evil cultivation method, he couldn't afford to quit it.
How could he? If he did then he would become trash worst than Mo Sheng. At least Mo Sheng had a spiritual root! As long as he didn't kill anyone, then it was okay. His cultivation only required him to slowly absorb the essence gotten from dual cultivation.
Surprisingly, it took six months for his problem to begin again. Having discovered an easier method, he began sneaking different cultivators in, both male and female. He made sure to focus on rogue cultivators or wandering ones -the ones that would not be missed immediately.
He had no choice but to do this. There was a possibility that they might not be good people anyways. He was doing the world a favour by killing them off. As time went on, the sustenance time became shorter and shorter and now, he could barely go one month before needing another fix.
Mo Jiu's eyes drifted from He Yuan to Gu Long once more. No matter what, he still viewed Gu Long as his property so seeing him standing so close to Mo Sheng irked him. He had a lot of scores to settle with that daxiong of his. Time.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtEverything would be done in due time.
As soon as Mo Jiu looked away, Gu Long finally released the breath he'd been holding. Even if he'd told Mo Sheng that he was okay and over Mo Jiu. He had to admit that seeing the man scared him a little. His mind kept flashing back to the crazed look that had been etched on Mo Jiu's face that day.
Ru Lianfeng finally arrived with the elders and the disciples all cupped their fists in front of themselves. "Sect master, Elders." They said collectively.
Ru Lianfeng nodded and went on to explain the details of the secret dimension. The dimension had been left behind by a Dao ancestor thousands of years ago and every twenty years, the portal was opened in the mortal realm.
In order to ensure that the resources within was sufficient for future generations, restrictions had been placed in the dimension. It had an age limit of twenty to thirty five years since cultivators within that age grade were best suited for survival within the dimension.
Another restriction was that spirit beasts were not to be taken into the dimension and that was so the rare species of spirit beasts in the dimension would not be challenged and possibly killed off. Although it was possible to contract one of the spirit beasts in the dimension and take it out if one was capable enough.
Lastly, they were only one hundred dimension passes and one secret chamber pass which meant only one hundred and one cultivators were sent into the secret dimension every twenty years. There were hundreds of sects so this was the reason each sect was only allowed to have one pass.
All eligible members of a sect would compete with the members of other sects for the hundred and one spots. Next, the top one hundred and one would compete and the winner of that tournament would be granted the secret chamber pass.
Finally, the winners of each pass could be challenged a maximum of two times by their own sect members for the pass.
The tournament was to be held at the Lingyun Canyon. The biggest arena situated right at the centre of the entire realm. Cultivators from each sect would travel there for the tournament and the Duoluo sect disciples were leaving in three days.
Grunts of approval was heard and the meeting was ended.
All personal disciples were automatically selected and the talented ones out of the inner disciples were screened and selected. Gu Long, who was now just an inner disciple, had to go through the screening process. The Alchemy peak master had cast him away.
She had told him she couldn't afford to have someone so ruthless as a disciple. Even if he was talented, what did it matter? Mo Jiu was her bottom line and Gu Long had crossed that bottom line by harming him.
He Yuan and Gu Long went straight to the Martial arts peak with the other interested disciples. In the storyline. Mo Jiu's followers of four had stayed behind because they'd been giving the task if protecting his harem members from his enemies and to keep an eye on the phoenix.
They'd immediately agreed of course. Just one disciple was allowed from each sect. They couldn't go against Mo Jiu so there was no need to attend the tournament. This time though, Gu Long was not part of them. He was aiming for Mo Jiu at this tournament.
As soon as He Yuan stepped forward to imprint his name with his Duoluo sect token, a scoff was heard from behind.
"Mo Sheng?" The person laughed. "You're still overestimating your capabilities I see."
He Yuan finished up and turned around with a sigh. Mei Hua. Of course it would be Mei Hua. It was always Mei Hua. She had made herself the leader of the Sheng haters club. "Mei Hua, why are you always the first to speak whenever I show up? Why do you crave my attention so much?" A mocking smile formed on his face. "You better be careful or I might get the wrong impression that you're secretly in love with me."
Mei Hua's face turned red. Ho- how could Mo Sheng be so shameless?! After heaving in anger, she turned around and walked off to the far end of the line where Mo Jiu and his crowd of attachments were imprinting their jade tokens.
Gu Long shook his head as he imprinted his token. Although he was aware that Mo Sheng could now cultivate -seeing as he was able to cross the second barrier at the Back mountain- he wasn't aware of the full extent of Mo Sheng's cultivation. Anyways, it might not be very high but so what? That did not mean Mo Sheng should not be given an opportunity to show his skills.
They both left the Martial arts peak immediately after Gu Ling finished up. Instead of the Converging peak, He Yuan went straight to the Cloud peak with Gu Long. He didn't want to have any interaction with Mo Jiu unless it was absolutely necessary.
A week later, the Ru Lianfeng, four elders, the selected inner disciples and personal disciples all arrived at the Lingyun Canyon. The entire place was bustling with activities as cultivators in different coloured robes representing their sect arrived with their sect masters and elders.
A much easier method to carry out this tournament would have been for each sect to hold their own tournament and send their winner to partake in the grand tournament but when that had happened, small time sects banded together to ambush the sole contestants from the bigger sects in order to reduce the competition for their own sects.
That method was soon abolished and all eligible members from each sect were brought to compete. If at the end of the competition, two contestants happened to be from the same sect, the two of them would battle and the empty slot would be allocated to a the next best sect.
The opening of the secret dimension was just over a month away so the tournament had to be completed by that time. The tournament began the next day and He Yuan, like many others, patiently waited for the winners to be announced.
He Yuan knew that if he managed to take win the pass from Mo Jiu then he, in turn, would be challenged by two other members of the Duoluo sect but he wasn't bothered. Mo Jiu was his biggest obstacle.
With the commencement of the tournament, Mo Jiu shocked the entire cultivation world with his skill, sweeping through the tournament with one-shot wins to the extent that cultivators began to surrender whenever they were paired up against Mo Jiu.
Three weeks later, the hundred and one cultivators were selected and it was time for them to fight amongst themselves to determine who would hold the secret chamber pass after a one week break.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAgain, Mo Jiu showcased his absolute gloriousness and won the secret chamber pass. The winners were given one more week to recuperate before they could be challenged by their own sect members for their passes.
The Tianmo sect pass went from Shen Mianmian's hands to Mu Qingqing, the jade twins held on to their own passes. Somehow, they were allowed to enter the dimension together due to the unusual bond that they had. They could not be kept apart for whatever reason.
Although just one of them had fought in the tournament to make it fair for others.
Xing Mei had snuck off earlier and no one knew what means she used to join a small time sect in order to take part in the competition and be with Mo Jiu when they got into the secret dimension.
The sect had of course quickly accepted her. It wasn't new for sects with incapable disciples to look for help in rogue cultivators. This way, the reputation of their sect would sky rocket if the rogue cultivator won the competition and they would even be able to partake of some of the spoils gotten from the secret dimension.
Xing Mei's pass remained with her.
Soon enough, it was Mo Jiu's turn to be challenged. The man in question languidly flew up the platform and stood with a nonchalant pose. "So," He said as he looked in the direction of the Duoluo sect disciples with a bored expression. "Who wants to challenge me?"
Silence.
The Duoluo sect disciples practically worshipped Mo Jiu. Who would be stupid enough to challenge him?
Gu Long clenched his fists as he looked up at Mo Jiu. This was the reason he'd come here. He'd spent these past years practicing and honing his skills. He knew he was nowhere near Mo Jiu but he needed to see Mo Jiu defeated somehow.
If he didn't witness it then that fateful day would forever hunt him and he might never be able to advance far in his cultivation. He braced himself and opened his mouth to speak.
"I-" Before Gu Long could finish, He Yuan clasped a hand over the smaller man's mouth.
If Gu Long were to go on that stage, Mo Jiu would most definitely kill him. It was forbidden to kill the other contestants but accidents could happen.
He Yuan raised his other hand and waved with a silly smile on his face. "I want to challenge you."
The entire surrounding was even more silent than before as all the Duoluo sect disciples and some others from other sects who knew about Mo Sheng stared at He Yuan in shock. Even Gu Long stiffened and looked up at He Yuan with wide eyes.
The surroundings was silent for a few more seconds before,
"MO SHENG, HAVE YOU GONE CRAZY?!" A Duoluo sect disciple shouted.
