All the people in the room nodded their heads. Only Claine stood there wondering why all these powerful people were not fighting to save the world but fighting to keep the world safe for Kana and Kana only. He began to wonder if Kana was truly a deity sent from the heavens above the realm of gods who was worshiped by the powerful.
Draconic Dungeon Floor 91…
"It's been two years…."
"Two years it has."
"Did she fail and die?"
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"She must have died..."
"How is that possible with us here?"
"Can you five shut up? Do you really want her to fail? Stop talking and watch, otherwise leave." Sister Fu growled in a low voice, causing the other sisters to shut up.
Kana's evolution was taking a long time due to an abnormality. Her whole body was being broken down and reconstructed to merge the new elements into her genetic code. Although it was taking a long time, the sisters never once left her side. Carefully watching over the egg, making sure nothing would disturb it.
While Kana was evolving, the war in the mortal realm finally exploded. The cities in the old Botus Empire were being overrun by the undead. With each kill, the death element in the air began to spread out, causing more undead to be born.
Rural armies and the humans from the Botus Empire who were loyal to the Rural Kingdom quickly came under attack at the borders. What was worse was the human army on the Rural Kingdom side had many traitors that still somehow snuck in and began killing the Rural forces from within. All hell broke loose in the Botus empire, and after a week of fighting, the Rural Kingdom was slowly beginning to be pushed back.
At the borders of the other countries, the Rural Kingdom was not faring any better. The massive human army was fighting head on alongside the undead and devils. As the death element began to spread, the front lines turned into something akin to hell. As people died, they rose again and began fighting against the Rural Kingdom. It did not matter if they were friends before they died. As soon as they died, you would have another enemy to fight.
In the command tent, Kiliffia was sitting there staring at the map in front of her gritting her teeth. "What should we do? We have already lost ten towns and four cities… Even Firmingsalos fell..."
"Little commander, this is what happens in war. You can not always expect to be on the winning side. We can only try to hold the line as long as we can until we are able to figure out a way out of this mess." An old man with wings on his back said. He seemed to be from one of the bird races.
"That is the point! We are not even holding the line! We can't! The death element is weakening our people, and the healers from the realm of gods can only do so much! With even the other gods helping out with ranged attacks, there is not much we can do to stop them. Only Goddess Kana's Husband, Goddess Rilneas, and the other dragons are able to fight them head on without worry…But even then..." Kiliffia was at a loss of what to do and very anxious if things kept going as they were, then the entire army they had formed between all the continents would end up being lost.
They had originally hoped there would be more time before they were forced into a situation like this, but the devils and humans moved faster than expected. Rilneas had forced the other dragons to come help as well, but now they only had six dragons and Creige who could fight head on with the devils. It was far from enough. But they knew if they tried to pull back to save the men on the front lines, they would only be helping the enemy more. It was basically checkmate, and the battle had just started.
Four years passed since Kana had begun her evolution. But on this day, four years to the day that she had been enclosed in the skull shaped fog, a loud cracking sound was heard that echoed across the entire level. "She's finished!"
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Finished she is!"
"I know she could do it!"
"You said she died two years ago."
"Yeah, you said she died."
"Cut it out!" Sister Fu yelled as she walked over to the bed with a set of robes in her hands. But as she did, she felt a pressure, unlike anything she had ever felt before. "This..."
Two slender pale skinned hands emerged as it pushed a chuck of the fog away. "Mmmm… I wonder how long I have been stuck in this thing..."
Out from the hole, a young woman climbed out. Two black horns adorned her purple hair with white highlights that glimmered in the dim lighting of the room. Silky smooth pearly white skin came into view. At first glance, she looked like a moon goddess descending from the heavens, but when she turned and looked at you with those deep dark blacks eyes that showed no compassion and looked to be void of life, it would make you tremble in place and feel as if your soul was being sucked out. But at the same time, one could not help but be captivated by her beauty. That was because no matter how you looked at it, Kana's current look and beauty was otherworldly.
Kana looked around and saw Sister Fu standing there staring at her. She was smiling warmly. Although Kana's appearance had drastically changed this time around, Sister Fu could see past the blood lust flowing naturally off her body and knew the person inside was her little disciple.
"Master Fu... " And just like how Sister Fu had felt, Kana smiled at her as she spread the wings on her back, flapped them and floated up into the air and then over to Sister Fu, landing in front of her. She took the robes from Sister Fu and put them on. She then turned to all of her masters and bowed her head: "Thank you for watching over me during my evolution. I hope it did not take long."
"Hehe, not at all, only about four years."
