Thanks to Kana being able to take in spiritual qi into her body even while in the body fortification realm, she was able to get the full effects out of the healing pill without needing the help of someone with higher cultivation to circulate it around her body. She was truly surprised to see how her once shattered bones were recovering at a quick pace even the broken ribs had already been fully repaired.
"Truly a mysterious pill..." Kana muttered as she continued cultivating. She couldn't continue until she was fully healed. But it seemed that even though her arm was recovering quickly, it would still be some time before she would be fully recovered.
Both girls stayed in a cultivative state for one day and one night. It was not until the morning of the next day that they both opened their eyes, feeling much better. "I will go out and get some snow. We can melt it and try to wash up a bit."
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtKana could feel the sticky blood on her face and hair. She had really soaked her entire head in it when she was biting the rock lion's neck. Her face, hair, and down her chest were caked with dry blood. Liu Na nodded and took out a large metal basin from her pouch. "Use this to collect it."
"Mmm..." Kana took the basin and walked out of the cave. The sun had just risen, and the wind had died down some. She walked a few meters away and began digging up the snow. And she collected it and dug deep into the snowbank until she hit the rocky ground. She saw something shiny between the rocks under the snow. "What's this?"
Kana reached down and moved the rocks aside, exposing a round piece of metal. It looked like a coin, but it was much bigger, more like the size of a medal one would win for a prize or some other kind of deed back on Earth. Engraved on this medal was a bird of some kind that looked as if it had fiery feathers on one side, and the other side had rune markings that Kana did not understand.
Even though she did not understand it, she still felt like maybe this medal was used for something within this mystic realm. She figured since she would be here for a while, she might as well keep it with her in case it would come in handy later on. She stuffed it in her robes and took the basin filled with snow, and went back into the cave. "Nana, look at this."
Kana didn't hesitate to show the medal to Liu Na. She had no idea what it might be for, so showing it to Liu Na couldn't do any harm. Liu Na took the medal and tilted her head. She flipped it over a few times in her hand but couldn't understand the runes on the back either. "I know the engraving of the bird is a phoenix. But the runes I do not understand. I do not know much about the dreaded grounds, so this could actually be a key to something. You may have found a key to an inheritance or something."
"Inheritance?" Kana thought for a moment before handing the medal back to Lui Na. "Hold on to it, so I do not lose it. I do not have a space pouch."
"Are you not afraid I would steal the inheritance?" Liu Na asked curiously. She never found someone so trusting as Kana. If she was a greedy person, she could easily take the medal and run out to search for the place to get the inheritance. A lot of cultivators were like that. They would be greedy and want all the power they could get.
"Why would I be afraid? If you did, you did. It would be my fault for seeing your character wrong. But the way I see it is that you are truly loyal to those around you. I do not fear that you would do such a thing. Plus, I might not want it to begin with and… This medal might be just that, just a medal. Come help me melt this snow." Kana replied, her words also ending the conversation.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmLiu Na pursed her lips and stored the medal away. She walked over to Kana and hugged her. "I would never do such a thing." After saying this, she let Kana go and pulled out a talisman that could create a small flame. Kana looked at Liu Na and smiled. She knew this girl was a good girl.
The girls propped the basin up on some rocks and used the talisman to create a small fire to heat the pan. It was not enough to keep people warm, but it was enough to heat a basin to melt snow, although it did still take almost an hour.
After washing up their exposed skin, the two girls decided that they needed to come up with a game plan. "So, how should we investigate the forest?" Liu Na asked.
"After we deal with the rock lions' bodies and make some warmer gear, we can start making our way into the forest. We will need to be much more careful, though. If we get too over our heads, we may end up dead. We both had severely underestimated this place. But now, after such a close brush with death, we will be much more wary about the fights we pick. I think until we really begin to grow, we will need to only take one demonic beast on at a time, with both of us fighting it. This will allow us to cover each other." Kana realized their mistake right off. If they had fought together, to begin with, it might have been a much easier fight. But they split up and went to fight the rock lions one on one, which was not the best choice. Not when they were much weaker and could only pull off wins by the skin of their teeth.
"This works well. If we get overwhelmed, we can at least cover each other. I will not allow myself or you to die during this training. " Liu Na said with determination burning in her eyes. She was weak, but she would make it out of this training. To them, years will pass before they are able to exit the mystic realm, which means during this time, they will need to survive on their own.
"At least we did not get injured enough that our tokens forcefully ejected us from the realm." This was something Kana was happy about, while she hated her lack of experience she was glad she avoided injury enough to not be kicked out of the realm.
