Reborn As A Dragon Girl With A System
Chapter 708: Danger At The Pond’s Shore Part 2***AN: Just a heads up. From now on, Liu Na, Fan Sengya, and Zhong LiuXian will have the names shortened to Nana, Fan, and Zhong.***
*Roar!*
The dragon like demonic beast was starting to get annoyed by the rain of arrows and the puny humans ignoring its presence. It reared its head up and opened its mouth. A glowing blue ball began to form within its mouth, lighting up the area. When the others saw this, their faces paled. They knew if they did not dodge, they would most likely die. The amount of spiritual qi that was building was enough to instantly vaporize all of them. "Kana, we might be in trouble!" Fan yelled out.
Kana turned her head and looked at the attack that was about to be fired off at close ranged and frowned. She stopped trying to move Zhong, turned around and grabbed both Nana and Fan by their heads, and pushed them down as she opened her mouth and let out a fire flame towards the dragon like demonic beast. At the same time, the dragon like demonic beast released its attack. Flame and water collided, causing an explosion of steam.

A deep roar came from Kana's gut as she pushed her flames to the limit. She was still lacking in her true dragon flame, so she could only hope this would be enough to push the water breath back.
Fei, who was watching this from the side, watched in shock at what was happening. She had forgotten that Kana was not actually human but a divine beast. Seeing the blazing flames exiting Kana's mouth and colliding with the jet of water coming from the demonic beast, although frightening, was still an amazing sight.
The spray of flames and spay of water continued for almost a minute but seemed to have lasted for an eternity for Kana. She was starting to feel weak towards the end, causing her body to sway a little, but she was able to fully ward off the attack in the end. "Fan, Nana, stall it for a few seconds. If I can not move him from the ground, I will take the ground with me."
Kana did not wait for an answer. That exchange just now showed Kana the power difference between her and the demonic beast in front of her. If it was not for the fact that she did not use her dragon breath much, she would have lost the exchange. She had used up almost every bit of flame inside her and would need to build it back up. This was the downside of not being able to use her magic. Fire attributed spiritual qi took time to build up inside unless she was cultivating. Right now, she could only rely on her passive spiritual qi absorption from her beast core to slowly regenerate her fire breath. All she knew at this time was that they all had to leave this place immediately.
Kana stabbed her fingers deep into the ground next to Zhong's feet and lifted with all her strength. She cried out as she strained to lift the ground until finally hearing cracks. Bracing her legs firmly on the ground, she used all her strength as she lifted a huge chunk of the ground up along with Zhong attached to it. "Come, let's go! Fei, use your arrows to slow it down!"
"On it!" Fei yelled out as she began firing arrow after arrow at the dragon like demonic beast.
Kana carried Zhong by his waist sideways as she ran through the forest as fast as she could. The other three were right behind her, taking up the rear.
*Boom!*
*Roar!*
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"It came ashore!" Fan yelled, his face paling when he saw how large the demonic beast actually was. It stood much taller than the trees themselves and had a long snake like body with four small legs. It could be said it was actually one a step away from being an actual dragon. It pushed past the trees knocking them down as it chased after its prey. I
"Keep running. Don't stop. Even if you feel like you are going to collapse, keep running!" Kana yelled back. "Fan, if Nana or Fei need help, you better help them!"
"Don't worry. I will!" Fan knew that Kana was already exhausted from fending off that attack just now. He could feel the heat of her flames and knew they were not ordinary. And he also knew if she did not act right then and there and risk it all, they all would have died.
The group continued to run through the forest. Not a single demonic beast was seen as they ran past the trees and through the underbrush as fast as they could. As time ticked by, the group was starting to grow tired. It was not like how they had arrived the day before. "What should we do? If we keep going on like this, we will end up being snake food!" Nana yelled out. She was already drenched in sweat.
"I am not sure! If we could somehow distract it." Fei was trying to come up with ideas, but nothing was coming to mind.
"I will go." Fan suddenly announced. He knew if things kept going like this, they would all die. It was not like how they dealt with the rank three demonic beast in the trial. They had no hiding spot. Right now, they were in the open. Even if there were trees all around them, a demonic beast of that size would not be affected by such things.
Kana frowned when hearing Fan's suggestions. She knew that the idiot would end up getting killed. Since it had come down to it, Kana sighed and deiced to take his place. "Fan, take Zhong and go. Nana, Fei, you follow him. The only one who truly has a chance to escape this damn thing is me."
Kana did not wait for an answer as she tossed Zhong's frozen body to Fan and turned around. She drew her sword and shot towards the snake demonic beast that was chasing them. All three turned and looked at Kana in disbelief. "Go! Kana said to go, so we will go!" Nana yelled through gritted teeth. She hated it. She hated the fact that Kana seemed to always take everything on to herself. "Kana, you better meet us, Temple Forest! Or I will never forgive you!"
Kana, who was charging forward, smiled as she yelled back: "Make sure you save plenty of roasted meat for me."
