Reborn As A Dragon Girl With A System
Chapter 737: Let Luck Take Its Course*Roar!*
Kana frowned as she saw another demonic beast standing in front of her. It was not that she did not need the beast cores or anything like that. It was just that it had been nonstop for hours now. She had only walked up the mountain path for a few hours before she came under constant attack. It was as if someone was telling the demonic beasts to become cannon fodder.
The only good thing besides the beast cores she was getting was the fact that it was very good practice. Unlike the forest below, the demonic beasts on the mountain had all kinds of attacks, from elemental to physical. It was such an array of attacks that it was precisely the training she was looking for, is what she would want to say if not for the fact that it was one after the other.
"Can you just stop already! I just want to eat some meat!" Kana yelled out, her stomach rumbling. "Ah, screw it, I will just roast you whole and snack on you while I fight the rest…."
Kana pursed her lips before sucking in a deep breath and sending out a stream of dragon flame. She made sure to control the flames just right so that the demonic beast did not turn to ash and became roasted meat. She only burnt the skin off, keeping the tender muscles underneath to sink her teeth into.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtShe ripped a leg off the large bear like demonic beast and bit into it. As the juices slipped into her mouth and down her throat, a bright smile formed on her lips. "Pure bliss!" She munched away while walking forward. She swung her sword causally any time a demonic beast appeared. It was as if her skills with the sword were on autopilot and hit the vital mark every time without much effort. She had not used any skill, just stabbed out on instinct.
Trailing far behind here were Elder Ning and the other disciples from Moon Crest Academy. They looked at the dead demonic beasts that littered the ground and gulped. Each one of these demonic beasts was rank five and above, and they looked to be chopped down with ease. Each battle area had minimal damage done to the surroundings. Only someone proficient in the sword could accomplish the task of easily slaying such powerful beasts on their own.
"Do you guys smell something good?" Ming Xiafan asked as he sniffed the air.
"Look, there is smoke coming from over there!" One of the female disciples pointed out. When they got closer, they saw a fully roasted demonic beast still standing in the same spot. It died standing up with a leg missing.
"This smells so good. I want to eat it!" A young man yelled out, but before he could rush over and take a bite, he was quickly pulled back by Qiao Song.
"You idiot! If you try to take a bite out of that, you will die! See the black swirls within the meat?" Qiao Song yelled out. He shivered, just thinking about what would happen if he had not noticed it. Ever since the lakes in the forest, he had been on guard for anything strange and paying close attention to his surroundings. Even the area they were walking was outside the dark path of dead grass and underbrush that Kana killed as she passed by. Each of these black areas was filled with death element.
"Senior Brother Qiao, thank you, you saved me!" The young man wiped the sweat from his head. He almost fell for the trap even though it was actually not a trap.
"We may be in trouble, though." Ming Xiafan announced.
"Why is that?" Qiao Song was confused. He did not sense any kind of demonic beast around them.
"Because Kana is killing all the demonic beasts. Her attacks are filled with her special energy making all the dead demonic beasts uneditable. Meaning we can't eat any of them unless we wish to die. I, for one, did not bring any food pellets with me." Ming Xiafan replied. While they were cultivators and going a few weeks without food was fine, Mofu mountain was a huge mountain, it would take more than a month to reach the top!
"This…." Qiao Song couldn't help but look over at Elder Ning, who shook his head.
"You kids wanted to come, and you came. I did not ask you to come. I did not bring much with me either, as everything was on short notice. As you also know, I do not need food pellets like you either." Elder Ning said, causing Qiao Song's hopeful gaze to turn into that of a hopeless expression.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmQiao Song took a deep breath and tried to think of a solution. "We can only go off the path and kill a demonic beast. We will need to work together and kill one to keep our stomachs full. Mofu mountain is not an easy mountain to climb, and we will need as much energy as we can get."
While the moon crest disciples were busy planning out their meal plans, Kana sucked the last bit of meat off the bone and frowned as she threw it to the ground. She looked at the large bird in front of her and sucked in a deep breath.
Seconds later…. "Chicken is sooo good!"
A week went by, and Kana finally reached the edge of the mountain forest and stood in front of a smooth wall. "I guess the easy part is over…. Time to climb. But this rock looks kind of funny."
Kana stepped forward and knocked on the smooth surface before bringing her arm back and throwing it forward, only to feel as if she had hit the hardest surface in the entire world. "Ahh! What is this rock made of!? How am I supposed to climb this?"
Kana was confused. She looked left and right, but it all looked the same. "I can only make a mark here and try to find a different spot to climb up at."
The reason she was leaving a mark was because if the entire area was the same, she would at least know where she had been already. She picked up a stick and left a cat paw print in the ground before letting the stick fall to let luck take its course. Whenever the stick fell, she would go in that direction.
The stick swayed before falling backwards and to the left. "Left it is!"
