Chapter 900 Having been wrapped in wealth and comfort for so long, how could he settle for just being a laid-back gentleman? His ambition was like a balloon, swelling more and more with every bit of unfair treatment he faced, driving his desire to seize control.
Up until today, he secretly dreamed that if Jules ever decided to retire, and the other Sharp brothers were off chasing their own goals, leaving them uninterested in the family business, he might just have a shot at inheriting it. After all, Jules had never tied the knot or had kids. The Sharp Group wasn't likely to be handed to someone outside the family.

But Morris's unexpected visit to Jules threw him into a tizzy. He knew his big brother had a soft spot for the past. Morris was the son of an old friend, and with his undeniable talent, Morris was sure to win his brother's favor. If Morris could swallow his pride and charm his brother, there was a real chance his brother might, in a moment of weakness, hand the business over to Morris.
Jackson was pacing anxiously outside the study.
Inside, though, was a whole different scene. The room felt icy, like an overzealous air conditioner was blasting away. Jules sat quietly, sizing up Morris, who wore dark sunglasses, masking his eyes. Of course, Jules didn't realize that Morris was eyeing him just as keenly.
"You both have been plotting this meeting. So, spill it. What's the agenda?" Jules's tone was anything but warm, bordering on frosty.
Nathalie stepped forward, but before she could utter a word, Morris shot her a look that clearly said, "Hold up." Nathalie awkwardly stepped back. After all, this was Morris's battle to fight, and she knew better than to interfere.

Jules's face darkened, trying to intervene, "That ring is a Sharp family heirloom. I'd like Mr. Rowland to return it to its rightful place." Morris was having none of it. "The ring's in my hands now, so it's mine." Jules's refined features took on a bluish hue in his frustration.
ring isn't worth much, but its a lot tome. If Mr. Rowland is open to it, can buy it back at market value." Morris sneered, "Do you really think I care about your money?" Jules was taken aback, "If it's not about the money, then why are you fightingfor it?" Morris tucked the ring into his pocket. "No comment." Not getting anywhere with his softer approach, Jules tried a different tack. "Mr Rowland, isn't this visit about landing a good job? Hand the ring back, and I can offer you any position below middle management."
That was a bit of a slap in the face for Morris. Nathalie's eyes brimmed with dissatisfaction. She looked Morris with concern; this first vel meeting as father and son was shaping up to be more of a showdown than a reunion,
Morris met Jules's gaze and chuckled wryly. "Thanks for the offer, but being a cripple, I'm not cut out for almanagement role in your esteemed company."
A fleeting look of calculation passed over Jules's face. "If management isn't your thing, how about a ΟΠ technical position? The Sharp family's technical roles are notoriously tough..." His words hung in the air, hoping Morris would reconsider. Morris stared at him, then let out a self-deprecating laugh.
