Chapter 377
My belly was still aching, especially where they cut me open during surgery.
“Alright, bring the kids over!” All I cared about were my babies. They were the cutest things in the world to me.
Mom came over carrying one of the kids, “I’ve given them a bit of milk. The doctor says you should try breastfeeding them.”
“I’ll give it a go now!” I looked at the baby lying next to me, it was so adorable and maternal love filled my heart.
“Pass me the other one.” I want to treat them equally. I had my mom place the other one on my bed. The bed was wide enough for the three of us. It was a single room after all.
The pain kicked in every time I moved a bit because of the wounds. But I tried my best to breastfeed one of them.
I was not really used to that. Mom was there guiding me when suddenly we heard footsteps outside. Then the door was kicked open.
I thought it was Russel, or some doctor or nurse. But to my surprise, it was Neil.
I didn’t think he’d have found me that soon unless he saw my mom and dad at the hospital, or Karina told him.
I doubted that Karina told him. It was more likely he saw my mom or dad or Russel. That was how he found out I was there and went as quickly as possible.
“Get out!” As soon as I saw Neil. I quickly pulled up the blanket, covering my babies and me.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtMom forgot to lock the door just then, which was really dangerous.
Neil looked furious, like he was ready to kill. Mom tried to stop him, but he easily shoved her aside.
I couldn’t move and I just watched as Neil walked up to me.
He looked down at me and tried to pull the blanket away.
I resisted with all my strength.
“Let go.” Neil’s voice was icy cold, his gaze devoid of warmth, as if he was looking at an enemy.
Mom stepped in front of me, angrily saying, “Neil, you and Irene are divorced, and it’s been a long time. Karina’s back, right? You two even have Hiram now. I heard Ryan and Faith have accepted her too. Why are you still bothering Irene?”
Mom angrily questioned Neil.
“Can’t you just let Irene live a good life? She just gave birth, if you want something, come to me!” Mom was worried that Neil might hurt me in his anger.
I worried Neil might have harmed my mom, so I said, “Mom, you go first, I have something to say to him.”
“No, I’m staying with you!” my mom immediately refused.

“You being here will only make things harder. Just go.” I insisted that my mom left. Since Neil had already found me, we should have cleared things up.
Neil didn’t say anything else; he just waited for my mom to leave.
After much insistence, my mom finally left the room. It was just me, Neil, and the two babies left.
“What do you want?” I asked first as my tone was calm and collected.
“Who’s the father?” Neil asked directly.
“Definitely not you.” I smirked, a hint of sarcasm in my voice, “You’ve got Hiram now. You shouldn’t be interested in someone else’s kids, right?”
My words seemed to provoke Neil and his expression darkened, “Are you saying that you’ve been with other men while we were together?”
Of course, I hadn’t, but I had to say that.
At that time, all I wanted was to sever all connections between Neil and the babies.
“There was once, as you know. I’ve always been popular. Only I was held back by you.” I even managed to laugh, “Besides, I always thought I was infertile. So, I never bothered with contraception.”
“You’re lying. I’m taking the kids for a paternity test.” Neil coldly replied. He didn’t believe a word I said.
“I’m not letting you take the kids, and I’m not letting you do a paternity test. You’ve already done one with Hiram. There’s no need to bother other people’s kids, right?” I emphasized the existence of Karina and Hiram in each sentence.
Because I knew that was the only way to leave Neil speechless.
As expected, Neil’s face turned darker and darker, and he had no reason to argue.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe world is fair.
He and I never really got back together, so why couldn’t I have my own children?
Just as Neil and I stood off, Russel opened the door to the room, carrying a meal he made for me. His eyes flickered with a cold light when he saw Neil, “What do you want? Don’t disturb her rest.”
Are these kids yours?” Neil didn’t bother with small talk. If I was not letting him take the kids for a paternity test, he was just going to suspect Russel.
I had been finding it hard to say straight out that Russel was the father of my kids.
But Russel seemed to play the part quite easily.
“Yes, they’re mine. If you don’t believe me, we can get some hair and do a test. See if they’re your kids or mine.” Russel’s voice was just cold and his gaze at Neil was full of hostility.
“Really? Then tell me, when did you two get together?” Neil’s hand tightened into a fist and veins popped on his hand. I thought he was about to punch Russel. “Do you really need to know this? First, you’re divorced from her. Second, Karina’s back in your life with Hiram. What else can

you promise Irene?” Russel pressed.
“I’ll take good care of Karina and Hiram,” Neil replied to Russel’s relentless questioning and his tone grew colder and sharper, “I just need some time to sort things out.”
“No matter how you plan on doing that, Hiram’s still your son, isn’t he? You’re not planning on ditching them, are you?” Russel shot back, his questions getting more and more pointed.
Those were all questions I had in mind, so I didn’t object. I merely pulled the blanket back a bit to let the kids breathe some fresh air, so they wouldn’t feel all stuffy under there.
Looking at those two adorable kids, I silently told them in my heart, “Neil might be your father, but he isn’t fit to be your dad. Don’t ever become someone like him in the future.”
