Chapter 26: Grandma's Secret Astrid's POV My heart almost jumped out of my chest when I heard Drystan's voice from behind us.
Drystan always appears in the most unexpected times. It's pure luck that he still had no idea about my sickness until now.
"What are you doing here?" I asked Drystan as I clutched my beating heart.
"I just cto check," Drystan answered. "Are you okay now? How are you feeling?" He asked me.
I sighed. "I'm okay, I just get tired easily because of my pregnancy," I lied using a smooth excuse.
Drystan softly nodded his head. "You should rest more since you're pregnant. Always tell us when you need anything," Drystan tells me.
"Is the party over already?" Nova asked Drystan.
"Yes, I told everyone to go halready after we saw the moon," Drystan replied.
"Thank you, Drystan," I paused. "For the party." I don't know how to thank him enough.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtEven though the party was too much, I knew I needed it and Drystan must have seen that also.
I've been feeling so troubled lately. Even though Killian bought our lies and I'm officially out of his life, I'm still thinking a lot about him lately and non-existent worries still bother me. Every tthat I was alone I couldn't stop myself from thinking of him as much as I hated to admit it.
The surprise party that he held forwas a great distraction. It helpedease all of my worries and it was a perfect reminder to showthat I don't have to fear anything anymore.
"You're safe with us, Astrid. Me, Nova, and the Pack will always protect you and provide for you. You do not have to worry about anything," Drystan reminded me.
I smiled at his words. I know that, but it was always easy to forget that.
My heart ached a little when I remembered one person who cared aboutjust like Drystan and Nova.
I opened the small drawer on my nightstand and pulled out the bracelet that my grandmother had givenas a gift. This bracelet is the only memory that I have of her.
I wish my grandmother was still alive. She would be happy to seehaving new friends. She would have loved Nova too just like the others and she would be so happy to seefind a new place where I feel that I belong.
More particularly, I wish she had her chance to meet her great-grandchild. I was supposed to tell her that I was pregnant before she died, but because of Killian, I wasn't able to share that great news with her before she left. "Where did you get that bracelet?" Drystan askedwith a surprised look on his face.
I smiled as I looked at the bracelet. "My grandmother gave it toas a gift when I was little," I answered him. Drystan is silent for a moment. He couldn't take his eyes off the bracelet.
I didn't find it unusual to see the surprise in Dystan's face when he found out that I owned such a valuable object. When my grandmother first gave it to modidn't know that the bracelet had a high monetary value in it.
As an omega who isn't used to expensive things. I do not have the eye that can tell luxurious objects apart.
I only found out that my bracelet was special when Killian's mother accusedof stealing it and wanted to take it from me.
Killian's mother is a materialistic woman. She even has her own collection of designer bags, designer shoes, and designer clothes.
Killian had always pampered her mother with luxurious things, but he never once boughtanything basic.
He couldn't even defendfrom his mother who is always forcingto divorce him so he could find another Luna.
"Is it okay if I take a look at the bracelet?" Drystan askedrespectfully.
I smiled and handed him the bracelet, "Of course." Drystan took the bracelet fromas if it would break upon his touch. I chuckled slightly when I saw how careful he was in holding it.
I watched Drystan as he looked at the bracelet with curiosity in his eyes. "Is there something wrong?" I asked him when I noticed how he was intently looking at it.
Drystan shook his head immediately, surprised by my question. "Nothing," he answered. "Is it okay if I borrow your bracelet?" Drystan asksrespectfully. Nova suddenly laughed. "I didn't know you had a thing for bracelets." Drystan glared at her makinglaugh with Nova.

"I know," Drystan spoke before I could finish my sentence. "I ex just need to ain check or something. I'll return it to Επ.
you as soon as possible." "Why are you so curious about the bracelet?" Nova asks him, makinglook at Drystan, expecting his answer.
Drystan is silent for a moment, his eyes never leaving the bracelet." just," he paused. "I just wanted to confirm something," Drystan answered Nova straight to her eyes.

"Okay, I will let you borrow my bracelet," I told him. "Just tellwhat you find out after that, okay?" Letting Prystan borrow my bracelet is not a big deal when I could even trust him with my own life. "What do you want to know about it?" Drystan suddenly asked me, makingspeechless. "I thought you had something you want to confirm. Just tellafter you're done," I answered him.
One of the reasons why I'm letting him borrow my bracelet is because I'm also curious if the bracelet is really indeed valuable.
It's just an expandable metal bracelet with sartisan's design
on it. It's not even made of silver.
How could it hold so much value? Even the gem on it that Killian's mother considered precious seemed to be fake to me. "Don't worry, I'll let you know if I made sdiscovery," Drystan promised me.
