Chapter 382 Cahoot Isabelle arrived just in time.

Magnus asked, assuming Isabelle was there to check on the situation Isabelle blinked and vaguely replied, "Oh, you didn't call the police, did you?" Magnus had bad feelings about her comment. He asked, "This has nothing to do with you, right?" Noticing there were guests present, Isabelle said, “Of course not." Then she walked over and whispered to Magnus, "The university's security system was hacked. I was the first to notice and managed to save the day." Magnus was sceptical, as that sounds a bit far-fetched.

Isabelle took a sip of tea, covering half her face. She added, "Tll be more careful next time." Magnus stared at her, bewildered.

What does she mean? Isabelle wanted to argue that it wasn't entirely her fault. Sstudents had been too curious, and the computer lab's equipment was outdated.

If it had been her own computer, the hacker wouldn't have breached her firewall, let alone tracked her.

"So, what exactly happened?" Magnus asked.

"I told you, it was a hacker attack," Isabelle reiterated.

Magnus choked on his words and was astonished.

The security system at Taragon University was government-provided. If the hack was indeed successful, it demonstrated the hacker's skill. This also highlighted Isabelle's capabilities in defeating that hacker, Magnus suddenly remembered the nationwide inteoutage in May. Could Isabelle have been responsible for that, too? "Isabelle, I've always been curious about your computer skills, but I didn't want to see them in action this way," he said softly.

She almost gave him a heart attack, "As compensation, I'll reinforce the university's security system and firewall," Isabelle offered.

Humbert observed Isabelle closely and listened to their whispered conversation.

Isabelle, amused, learned from Magnus's address that the guest was Principal Brown from Sagefield University.

She glanced at their phone and feigned as though she had recently learned about it.

Her question interrupted the principals' conversation.

Magnus was about to say, Didn't I ask you to join? I almost begged you.

He caught Isabelle's look and understood immediately.

"Isabelle, last year's basketball match left Sagefield with quite a psychological scar. We're neighbours, and harmony is important. If we send you again this year..." Magnus glanced at Humbert and waved his hand. “It wouldn't be appropriate. Principal Brown is getting older; we should show srespect," Humbert was agitated by the remark. He argued, "What do you mean? Are you saying Taragon University is deliberately losing to us?" Magnus replied, "Friendship first, competition second. Isabelle interjected, “Principal Burton might be generous, but myclassmates and I are not happy about that. If you had letparticipate, the outcwould have been different."

Humbert immediately turned to Isabelle and challenged, "Young lady, don't speak too sdon. My student has real skills. If you're not convinced, we can compete again."

He turned to Magnus and proposed, "Though it's a friendly match, giving your best is disrespectful to your opponent.
