Chapter 1266 Keeping Her Alive
"Nicole, I know what's on your mind, but think about Chloe. You can't let her efforts go to waste, can you?" Knowing
Nicole's way of thinking, Roxanna thought that since she could not force the woman, she would try another way.
After all, she knew Nicole would eventually give in.
Meanwhile, Nicole gave her a skeptical look. Her condition had not shown any improvements since the beginning,
but Roxanna had been with her all this while, keeping her happy, which was why she felt more at ease.
"Alright, I'll take it." Nicole gave in and took the bowl of tonic. Upon smelling the pungent bitterness of the drink, she
frowned and held her breath before downing it all.
When Roxanna saw that, she nodded in satisfaction. As long as Nicole kept drinking the tonic, she could stay alive

"Great. Now that you've drunk it all, my task is considered accomplished. You should get some more rest." Roxanna
took the bowl and left as she had to report back to Chloe.
However, just as she exited Nicole's ward, she saw Chloe standing by the door, seemingly having waited for a long
time. "Chloe, when did you arrive?"
Without answering Roxanna's question, Chloe glanced at the bowl and smiled after seeing that the tonic was all
gone. Somewhat relieved, she asked, "Did she finish it?"
"Yes, she did. It seems like this tonic can keep her alive longer for now." Roxanna nodded with a faint smile, for this
might be the only good news they had recently. Then, she seemed to have recalled something and asked, "By the
way, were you waiting for me? What's the matter? Did something happen?"
Remembering why she came, Chloe answered, "I can't reach Mr. Lloyd. He seems to have isolated himself to
research something new, and no one is daring enough to disturb him."
Upon hearing that, Roxanna furrowed her beautiful brows while rubbing her chin. "That is a problem. Come to think
of it, Mr. Lloyd has the best medical skills."
Chloe concurred with a nod. "I'll try to reach him, and while doing so, I'll continue to work on finding a cure. We will
save Nicole."
Roxanna gave the other a thumbs up. "Sure, we'll proceed with two options. One of them will work."
"That's right. You still have to make sure Nicole drinks her tonic so that she can make it until we have the cure,"
Chloe reminded Roxanna, still feeling worried.
"Don't worry. Just leave it to me." Roxanna patted her chest while speaking confidently.
Meanwhile, since encountering that woman and entering the bar, Colton spent several consecutive nights in such
places. Evelyn tried to catch him in the act several times but would always get chased out by security.

"Go away. Who are you to disturb Mr. Gardner's business?" A security guard chased the familiar woman away.
Evelyn grabbed the security guard's hand, trying to find an opportunity to sneak inside. However, the security guard
was too strong, so it was difficult for her to slip inside no matter what. Moreover, this was already her seventh
attempt.
"I am Colton Gardner's wife. How dare you treat me as such?" Seeing that the security guard would not let her
enter, regardless of her attempts, she was so angry that she announced her identity.
Nonetheless, the security guard sneered and retorted, "Do you even know what you're saying? Mr. Gardner
divorced his wife long ago, so you're no longer his wife. You'd better leave as far as you can before I get angry, and
stop disturbing me!"
"You—" Evelyn pointed her trembling finger at the bodyguard, not expecting the other to be so rude.
