Chapter 1276 Nicole Is Awake
Nicole had been sent back to her room, where Roxanna carefully inserted the IV needle into her hand and
connected it to the nutrient solution Chloe had prepared. As they observed Nicole's complexion gradually
improving, a sense of relief washed over them. Sharing a smile, they left the room, feeling reassured.
Meanwhile, Nicole found herself trapped in a disconcerting dream. She continuously shook her head, and beads of
sweat formed on her forehead, evident signs of fear. In the darkness, she was aware of her surroundings but
unable to wake up. Even when she exerted herself to run in a particular direction, she found herself stuck, unable to
escape the confines of her dream. Amidst faint cries and distant conversations, she resorted to banging her head
against the unseen floor in desperation, but it yielded no change.
"No! No—" Suddenly, her eyes shot open in a burst of fear, temporarily blinded by the intense brightness of the
ceiling.

nutrient solution. She had spent the entire night by Nicole's side after Albert mentioned that Nicole would wake up,
yet she remained unconscious. Now that Nicole had finally stirred, Roxanna's pent-up excitement was hard to
contain. "How are you feeling? Are you alright?" She hurried over, attempting to temper her enthusiasm with a
composed demeanor.
However, Nicole looked at her perplexedly before realizing what was happening. Then, she shook her head slightly,
indicating that she felt fine.
Roxanna's joy was palpable as she nodded back, her eagerness apparent. "Would you like anything to eat? I'll go
and get you some food." After muttering to herself, she retracted it. "Wait. You just recovered, so you can't eat
anything heavy. I think I'll get you some corn soup." She beamed at Nicole and left the room.
On the other hand, Nicole took in her surroundings, realizing she was no longer in darkness but back in her room.
Slowly breathing out, she thought she had been having a long, terrifying dream. The memory of being alone in the
dark terrified her. Later, a bright light appeared out of nowhere, and she fainted. When she woke up again, she
found herself here. It was fortunate that she could return.
"Nicole, I'm back. The kitchen staff had prepared it so you can have some once you're awake," Roxanna said in a
rush as she entered the room, bearing a tray of corn soup and various fruits. She swiftly arranged a small table on
Nicole's bed, adroitly arranging the food with an air of presentation. "Come on, Nicole. Time to eat."
"Sure. Thank you," Nicole responded, her intelligence evident in her eyes. The newfound calmness in her body
indicated that the voodoo bug had been removed. Moreover, she had no doubt that Roxanna and Chloe must have
exerted great effort to help her.
"You don't have to thank me." Roxanna waved her hand dismissively, and warm gratitude filled her gaze as she
observed Nicole alive and well.
With a smile, Nicole bowed her head and began to eat. The sensation of hunger was more pronounced than she
had realized, and she quickly finished the meal Roxanna had brought.

Afterward, Roxanna cleared the dishes with a satisfied smile. As she reached the door, she paused, turned back,
and said, "Nicole, Mr. Lloyd came and removed your voodoo bug. He said the bug had inhibited the baby's growth,
so the baby is still about two months along. Also, he stressed that you should get a checkup at the hospital."
Though shocked, Nicole nodded obediently.
After saying this, Roxanna left the room with a reassuring smile, her concern for Nicole's well-being alleviated by
the sight of her apparent improvement. She no longer harbored worries about Nicole's mindset regarding death.
Alone in the room, Nicole looked out the window, not expecting her child to still be alive. Learning that Albert had
been brought here added another layer of astonishment. It became evident that her illness had instilled genuine
worry among her loved ones. With a deep exhale, fatigue crept over her. Gradually reclining on the bed, her gaze
wandered to the ceiling, and she succumbed to a profound slumber.
Once she was well rested, she needed to head to the hospital. Given that the researchers commandeered the lion's
share of the medical equipment within the research center for their own studies, she recognized its inaccessibility
for her own use. Moreover, the prospect of inconveniencing others further deterred her from utilizing the
equipment.
This incident had already made her feel ashamed for troubling so many people, and she also had to thank Albert.
