“Winnie, over here!” Christopher stood not far away and waved to Winnie.

Winnie quickly put away her phone and walked toward him.

“Captain Bennett, aren’t we going to meet at the cafe? Why did you come over?”

“I’m an impatient person. I feel bored sitting there alone, so I came over,” Christopher

explained casually. “Let’s go.”

“Why don’t you cancel the reservation for that room at the cafe? We can just discuss

things here while we stroll around instead of going there.” Winnie did not want to travel

here and there.

“No way. It’s me who asked you out. How can I not even let you have a drink?”

“That’s so generous of you, Captain Bennett. If you really want to treat me to something,

just buy me ice cream later. There’s a dessert shop in this residential area, and the ice

cream tastes really good.”

“That sounds great. I’m glad it’s just in your residential area, lest you need to rush back

here again.”

The two walked tens of meters westward, and they came to a dessert shop.

Winnie ordered matcha-flavored ice cream, while Christopher only ordered a bottle of

lemonade.

Winnie took one step ahead to pay before Christopher could do so.

This made Christopher a little embarrassed. However, he did not insist while they were in

the shop.

After leaving the shop, Christopher said, “Why did you pay for it just now? It’s supposed to

be my treat.”

“Then you should stop calling me Captain Bennett.”

“How should I address you, then?”

“Lucas and the others call me by my name, so you can do it, too.”

Winnie nodded and took a bite of the ice cream. “Okay, Christopher. Has anyone told you

that you have a really nice name?”

Christopher was a little touched. His name sounded so pleasant when said by the woman

he loved. He never once thought he had a nice name, as he always felt that it was too

common.

“You have a pretty name too.” Winnie carried the meaning of happiness. It was just like

the happiness he felt when he met her three years ago.

“Thank you.”

The two then walked side by side when a black Mercedes-Benz suddenly drove by.

At first, the man in the Mercedes-Benz noticed nothing, but soon, as reaction kicked in, he

found the two figures he had just passed by familiar.

Hence, he quickly rolled down the car window and glanced in the direction of the two.

However, his car moved too fast, and the two had also turned into a corner, disappearing

from his sight.

In the meantime, Winnie asked Christopher, “By the way, you said you have something

important to tell me. What is it?”

Before Christopher could speak, Winnie’s phone rang.

Winnie picked up the phone and frowned instantly. After only a short moment, she ended

the call.

“Thank you, but I don’t need that. Bye!”

Hearing that, Christopher immediately understood. “A sales call?” he queried.

“Yes. It’s strange, though. I’ve installed a call blocker app. Usually, the spam calls can’t

get in. How did the person do it?” Winnie was puzzled.

As soon as she finished speaking, she received another call from an unknown number.

“It must be some sales call again. I guess my blocker app has been disabled.” Winnie

immediately blocked the unknown number and muted her phone.

“It’s muted now. Let’s continue.”

With a nod, Christopher uttered thoughtfully, “If you don’t mind, I’ll take a look at it for

you later. My colleague from the information department has taught me how to filter this

kind of spam call.”

“Sure. Let’s talk business first.”

“Right. I came to tell you I met Yulissa earlier, and she gave me a lot of useful

information.”

“What? Did you just say you met her and not arrested her?” Winnie frowned.

“Yes. I met her outside, and I didn’t arrest her.”

“Why?” Winnie was confused. “There’s no way she would willingly give you useful

information. Is she really trying to turn over a new leaf now?”

“I think it’s because of her grandfather. She knows that her effort alone is too insignificant,

and she needs the help of the police. But this is what we police should do. You don’t have

to worry about that.”

me, right?”

chance to do so? Look at what he did to Xavier! She’ll never get to redeem herself, no

matter what she does. It’d take Xavier to lose his mind to get back together with her.”

“Are you… really that confident with Xavier?” Suddenly, Christopher felt a little miserable.

To be honest, he had considered it too when Yulissa made that suggestion.

Xavier had not passed her test yet, anyway.

He would rather wait for the outcome of the test.

Christopher nodded. “Yeah, she told me, and I’ve written it down. Let me find it for you.”

As he spoke, he started searching for a memo on his phone. “Here.”

Staring at the address, Winnie frowned instinctively.

This… is the same exact location Xavier sent to me minutes ago. So he has been at

Yulissa’s place since last night.
