He took one look at Winnie and felt that he had to come clean.

In the past, he was not aware of the relationship between Winnie and Xavier, so he kept

his feelings to himself.

However, she was no longer with Xavier.

Christopher sat upright and said in a serious manner, “To be honest, I have known Winnie

since five years ago.”

ago.”

“We spoke before.” Christopher pursed his lips and blushed. “Five years ago, we met in a

bank. Back then, there was an armed robbery there. One of the robbers had a bomb on

him. I was in charge of the sniper team. You were very brave and quick-thinking. Before

we got into our positions, I saw from the surveillance camera how you saved the others.

Later on, a pregnant woman was taken hostage by the robbers. You volunteered to swap

places with the lady. I had a new colleague back then, and he was quite young. It was his

first mission. I still remember what you told him back then.”

Before Christopher could speak out, Winnie said what she said five years ago, “Keep up

the hard work, officer! You drive the criminals back every time you take a step forward!”

dating anyone for the past five years.”

“Okay, I understand.” Christopher had expected her to reject him anyway. “Then, let’s be

friends for now.”

He knew very well that there was no way she would accept him so soon after parting ways

with Xavier. However, he could not help himself but express his feelings for her.

There were some other things that he was hiding from her. She might not believe him if he

revealed the truth. In all honesty, he had been in love with her for the past five years.

He did not mind waiting for her for another year or two.

After all, she was in his life at the present moment.

By the time Winnie and Jacinta got back to the Garland residence, it was already past

eight o’clock.

Hamish was not back yet.

Since the patriarch of the household was not around, the housekeepers started to

misbehave.

The moment Winnie and Jacinta got back, the housekeepers began to gossip about them.

“This old one is so shameless. It’s bad enough that she stays and eats for free. She even

lacks manners. She just goes in and out anytime she likes.”

The three housekeepers’ harsh insults made Jacinta very furious.

She was eyeing the duster that was nearby and tempted to pick it up.

However, Winnie was trying to stop her in secret.

Winnie shielded Jacinta behind her before walking toward the housekeepers with a silly

expression.

All of a sudden, her expression changed, and so did her aura. She no longer appeared silly.

Instead, there was something sinister about her.

The few housekeepers had no idea what Winnie was up to until she gave each one of them

a tight slap on their faces.

Slap! Slap! The housekeepers only came to their senses after that.

Just when they were about to react, Winnie popped her eyes wide open and yelled,

“Remember! My name is Lorelei. Tell that shameless couple I’m back for revenge!”

What!

The three housekeepers freaked out. One of them had been with Yara for many years and

even helped Yara to harm Lorelei.

She screamed in fright, “She’s possessed! She’s being possessed!”
