Jacinta understood Winnie’s intention right away after hearing Lorelei’s name.
Lorelei was her daughter. Winnie had brought up Lorelei’s return as an attempt to seek
vengeance against the shameless couple, Hamish and Yara.
Jacinta was pleased. She shared Winnie’s sentiment for wanting the shameless couple to
suffer eternal d*mnation in hell as well.
Hence, she started to put on a show to go along with Winnie’s plan.
“Are you really my daughter, Lorelei? Are you really back? I am your mother! You have
died in vain, and I regret never having the chance to talk to you properly. Lorelei dear,
please look at me and talk to me!”
Her wails of despair and forlorn pleas were so convincing that the housekeepers thought
that Winnie was truly possessed by the spirit of the dead Lorelei.
Jacinta’s reaction even had Winnie stumped for a few seconds.
After all, Winnie had not planned to play tricks in front of the housekeepers. However, she
decided to improvise when she heard the housekeepers saying that Yara was coming back
that night.
She did not even have the time to run her plan by Jacinta before deciding to do so. Hence,
she was surprised that her granny would be able to react on such short notice.
The housekeepers, especially Nancy, who had committed the transgressions against
Lorelei, were shocked senseless as their faces turned pale.
“T-The phone! I-I need to call M-Mrs. Garland!” Nancy stammered as she scurried off.
Winnie chuckled when she heard Nancy.
Go on. Hurry up and call Yara.
Her plan would not be a success if Yara were not around.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtWinnie wished that Yara could come back right this instant.
After going back to the room, Winnie hurriedly took out a bag of fine powder from her
luggage and smeared it on her hand.
“What is this? What are you planning to do when Hamish and Yara come back later?”
Jacinta asked curiously.
Winnie looked at her phone for the time and said, “We have at least half an hour more till
they reach home. There is still time. I’m going to give them a good scare.”
The show that they put on previously in front of the housekeepers was only an entrée to
prepare them for the main course that would soon ensue. Granny, just you wait. I’m going
to put this shameless couple through the suffering that my mother went through back
then!
After twenty minutes, Hamish brought Yara home.
Winnie could hear them arguing even from inside her room.
This time, they were no longer arguing about Kylie being imprisoned but whether to let
Winnie stay in the house.
Yara was hurling invectives left, right, and center. Not only was she berating Hamish, but
she was also attempting to get her point across to Jacinta and Winnie.
“Do you think our family has not suffered enough? Because of that dumbass, my precious
Kylie is behind bars right now! Mind you, I did try begging her, but it was useless! Now
you’ve asked her to stay here instead. Are you out of your mind? One dumbass is enough.
Now you’re getting an old, stingy woman here too? Are you trying to aggravate me?
Hamish Garland, you’d better chase them out of my house right now!”
Hamish felt his head pounding as Yara screamed at him.
“Are you done? You’ve been talking my ears off about Kylie in the car! Have you thought
about my feelings on the matter? I’m going to look past the fact that you did not consider
looking out for my image at the hospital. Are you going to go so far as to berate me in
front of the housekeepers too? If you feel like you can’t live with me any longer, feel free
to get the hell out of my house!” Hamish retorted.
“What did you say? Did you just chase me out of the house because I asked you to evict
the dumbass? Didn’t you hear Nancy saying that she was possessed by Lorelei? That dead
woman is coming back to seek vengeance!” Yara snapped.
“Quit being so delusional and superstitious. There is no ghost! Don’t scare yourself. Go see
a psychiatrist at the hospital tomorrow if you think otherwise,” Hamish chided.
He did not wish to squander another word on Yara as he got up to leave.
Hamish felt like he was down on his luck these days, especially when a few of his major
investments ran up against the wall. In a single night, he suffered a significant loss of over
billions. The whole Garland Group would go bankrupt if he continued to suffer such
substantial losses.
Yara immediately pulled at him when she noticed Hamish was trying to leave.
“What do you mean? Are you calling me crazy? If you’re not going to do it, I’m going to
chase the dumbass out of my house myself!” Yara hollered.
“Stop right there!” Hamish bellowed. “Could you stop bothering me? Even though
Benjamin asked me to bring her home, Old Mr. Fairchild has mentioned that he will make it
up to her. How am I supposed to ask for compensation from Old Mr. Fairchild if you chase
her out of the house right now? Please put that brain of yours to good use!”
“Hamish Garland, are you calling me stupid?” Yara retorted.
The two of them argued at the top of their lungs as their shouts reverberated in the whole
mansion.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThough others may find their shouting aggravating, it was music to Winnie’s ears.
She wanted to see the family descend into anarchy. This was only the beginning of her
grand plan of making their lives a living hell.
Yara was afraid that Winnie might get possessed by Lorelei again. Hence, she specifically
ordered someone to lock Winnie’s room from the outside.
Winnie and Jacinta noticed the sounds of the housekeeper trying to lock her door.
Jacinta wanted to open the door and find out what was happening, but she was stopped
short by Winnie.
“They’re trying to lock us in here. We can’t let them do that!” Jacinta said anxiously.
“It’s going to be all right, Granny.” Winnie did not panic and was calm as a cucumber.
“Locking me in here is not going to stop my plan. In fact, it is even better for us to stay in
here.”
“How is us being locked in here any better?”
“Just be patient, Granny,” Winnie said.
Both Jacinta and Winnie waited patiently as they sat on the bed. When it was finally quiet
outside, Jacinta walked over and tried to open the door.
“I can’t open it! They’ve really locked us in here. I think this door could only be unlocked
from the outside,” Jacinta said.
“It’s all right, Granny. This lock is child’s play,” Winnie said confidently. “We just need to
get a good night’s sleep.”
At night, in Hamish and Yara’s bedroom, Yara noticed a few bloody handprints on the walls
after turning off the lights.
However, the bloody handprints disappeared when she turned on the lights.
When she turned off the lights again, a few bloody footprints appeared on the carpet
instead.
“Hamish! Hamish!” Yara was so petrified that all colors drained from her face. “G-Ghost!
It’s Lorelei!”
