“Hmph!” Yulissa shot the other woman a glare. “Slash me if you dare. I’ve stopped caring about my

face for a long time.”

“Is that so?” Winnie tightened her grip on the hairpin. “You may not care about your face, but I don’t

believe you’re not afraid of pain.”

As soon as she exerted more force, the hairpin cut deeply into Yulissa’s skin.

Only after feeling the blood oozing out of the wound did Yulissa look fearful.

“Stop! Isn’t it just a badge? The black one, right? As long as you bring my grandpa to me, I’ll return the

black badge to you. You have my word!”

However, Winnie pressed the hairpin down harder. “I can’t wait that long!”

Yulissa glared at her. “Even so, you still have to wait. Do you think I’m unaware that Josiah is looking

for me? He even asked around about the black badge. I kept the badge on me at first, but I was afraid

that Josiah would take it away, so I quickly dug a hole to hide it. If you ask me to tell you the location

Winnie could not tell at that moment whether Yulissa was lying, but at a certain point, she truly wanted

The next day, early in the morning, Winnie awoke to several knocks on her door.

She instinctively sat up on the bed. “Who is it?”

“It’s me.” Harold’s voice rang out from outside the door. “It’s late. Rise and shine! I brought you

breakfast. Have I disturbed you?”

Winnie frowned. “No. Wait a moment. I’ll change my clothes and come out.”

“Take your time.” Harold said kindly, “I’ll wait for you outside. Come out when you’re ready.”

“All right!” Winnie responded casually. She got dressed in no time and walked out of the room.

Out in the courtyard, Harold had already told someone to place the breakfast on the stone table.

Christopher was also standing behind him.

When Harold saw Winnie opening the door and stepping out, he immediately got up and approached

her.

She flashed him a faint smile. “Why are you so considerate today, Mr. Horton?”

Harold raised his eyebrow. “If you like it, Ms. Vivian, I can be this considerate from this day forward.”

Winnie smiled and sat down. “I reckon you did this for that batch of goods, didn’t you, Mr. Horton?

That’s why you’re in a hurry to send me to the lab.”

Harold gave her a fake smile. “I wouldn’t say that I’m in a hurry. I merely want to complete this deal as

soon as possible. By the way, I wanted to come to you last night, but I was afraid of disturbing your

rest. Give me your overseas bank account details. I’ll transfer one-third of the deposit to you first, and

when I get the final payment, I’ll give you one-third of that as well.”

“One-third?” Winnie chuckled. “I don’t think I’ve said yes to that. You probably don’t know who I went

out to meet yesterday, Mr. Horton. To be honest, I met with Mr. Cabell’s subordinate yesterday, and

Harold gritted his teeth. “So you’re raising the price on the spot?”

terrible consequences. So, I think you really should reconsider my proposal, Mr. Horton.”

“No way!” Harold replied without hesitation. “There’s no way I’m giving you fifty percent. If you want that

much, you might as well change my entire family’s surname to yours. Forty percent. No more than

that.”

Winnie let out a loud scoff. “Is there any difference between Mr. Cabell’s offer and yours then?”

“Of course there is. While I have been creating new products for a while, they are making old,

traditional goods. He and Shaun’s combined resources are of a far lower caliber than mine. If what I’m

creating is of exceptional quality, their products are simply junk. I find it incomprehensible that you

would choose to take forty percent of trash over forty percent of high-quality goods. What a fool!”

“Oh?” Seeing as they finally got to the point, Winnie snorted disdainfully. “You’ll need to prove it to me

then. Otherwise, how would I be able to tell if the quality you are referring to is merely garbage

allow you to see it once.”

“Sure.” Winnie immediately took out her phone and placed it on the table. “I’ll leave my phone here and

come with you.”

However, Harold was unaware that the woman standing before him had a photographic memory.
