When Winnie saw him standing up to leave, she held on to his arm and got to her feet as well. “Let’s go

together. I want to see what this mysterious act is all about.”

Xavier looked down at Winnie, his eyes darkening. “I don’t know what mysterious act you’re talking

about. What I know is that there’s a gorgeous woman before me.”

Then, he leaned down to approach her.

Winnie did not stop him, but just as their noses were about to touch, she suddenly lifted a finger to press

his lips.

“Show me first,” she said with a sly grin.

Xavier couldn’t help but clench his jaw and bite her ear playfully. “You naughty girl!”

Upon seeing his reaction, Winnie burst into laughter. “I love seeing you being so helpless even when I

frustrate you.”

As Xavier gazed at her lovingly, it was as if honey was dripping from his eyes. “Come with me.”

They walked side by side to his table, where Xavier took out an exquisite card from the drawer and

handed it to Winnie.

At first glance, Winnie knew that it was an invitation. She flipped it open, only to find that it was an invite

to Nate’s birthday party the next evening.

Noticing the look of surprise flashing across her eyes, Xavier queried, “What do you think? You don’t

want to go, do you?”

Winnie did not answer his question directly. She returned the invitation card to him and said, “He’s a

trending star in the entertainment industry, and he’s also from a rich family. In that case, there will be a lot

of celebrities and media attending his birthday party, right?”

“Yes.” Xavier bobbed his head.

“Then I’ll go. Although I don’t have an invitation, I can go with you as your female companion.”

Xavier furrowed his brows at her words. “Female companion? You’re my wife—my legal spouse!”

“Did you get possessed by a dictionary today? You’re being so fussy about my usage of words,” Winnie

quipped.

Xavier huffed, “I wasn’t planning to go to the party, but I guess I’ll have to go to accompany you. You

have to compensate me for this.”

Xavier was rendered speechless at that. After a while, he managed, “It seems like I’m not being assertive

enough. I said you have to compensate me. The best way to do that would be to give yourself to me.”

“Okay, I’ll do that.” Winnie pinched Xavier’s chin and purred, “Wash yourself clean tonight and wait for

me at home.”

Instantly, Xavier’s eyes lit up. “Really? You’re not lying?”

“Cross my heart!”

In the afternoon, Winnie visited Mason with some people to discuss the search for Greta.

Following that, she returned straight to Aqua Moana.

After having dinner with Jacinta, she headed upstairs.

Because of her promise in the morning, Xavier was already waiting for her in the room at that moment.

In fact, he was already done bathing when she entered.

Not only that, he even put on some music and lighted scented candles to create a cozy and romantic

atmosphere.

Winnie was also someone who loved romantic ambience.

As she stood under the warm light, her beautiful face looked gentle.

“Did you prepare all this for me?”

decorate personally rather than making someone do the work. I like it very much.”

“I’m glad you like it.” Xavier took a deep breath, trying hard to suppress the burning desire within him. His

voice was hoarse as he said, “I missed you. I missed you so, so much. We haven’t had a night like this

for months already.”

“I missed you too,” Winnie was moved and said earnestly.

What she got in response was a passionate, heated kiss.

Soon, they crashed into the bed, the flower petals crushed under their bodies.

Winnie gripped Xavier’s shoulder and yelped, “Go slow!”

Winnie also saw the caller ID.

She took the phone and lay down on her back, gesturing at Xavier to keep quiet as she answered the

call.

Despite the resentful look in Xavier’s eyes, he cooperated and stopped what he was doing.

Winnie cleared her throat and chirped, “Hello, Granny. What’s up?”

“Winnie, can you come over? I accidentally tripped.” Jacinta’s anxious voice sounded from the other end

of the line.

“What?” Winnie sprang up from the bed. “Where are you? I’ll go to you right away!”

Hearing that Jacinta tripped and fell, Xavier hurriedly offered, “I’ll go downstairs with you.”

“Winnie, you should come alone. I tripped while I was taking a bath. Come and help me up,” Jacinta

asserted after hearing Xavier.

“Okay, I’ll head there right now! Just stay still and don’t move. I’m going downstairs now,” Winnie

reminded worriedly.

“Okay, hurry up.”

After hanging up, Winnie swiftly dressed herself.

As she did that, she explained to Xavier, “Granny is in the bathroom, so it isn’t appropriate for you to be

there. I’ll go to her on my own.”

Xavier nodded. “Call me if you need anything.”

“I know.” Winnie did the last button on her chiffon blouse and gave Xavier a quick peck.

With a towel wrapped around his waist, Xavier walked her to the door. He knew that Winnie likely

wouldn’t return to him that night.

In fact, he even suspected that Jacinta was doing this on purpose.
