Gerald’s eyes shifted from Ms. Cat to the middle-aged man, who had remained silent the

entire time.

Carolyn and Valery too, did not utter a single word and remained silent.

“Perhaps we should consider collaborating,” suggested Ms. Cat.

Gerald sighed and replied, “If it’s about collaborating, you could have just talked to me directly instead

of doing all this.”

“There were some things that I had no other choice but to do, and I hope you can understand. With the
