“Good. Now all of you, go and look for the source that’s making you stronger so quickly. Keep updating me in our public mindspace.” Elliot ordered all twenty of his new Giant Six-Limbed Feral Mole tamed beasts. “Make sure you all are going in different directions and depths.”

“Yes big boss!”

“Right away, giant, handsome boss!”

“Your every wish is my life command, glorious, handsome boss!”

“YES BIGGEST, HANDSOM-“

“Alright, alright I got it. Now go!” Elliot sighed deeply in his heart. He had never met such a bunch of shameless asskissers before.

He had merely appeared before the tribe in his relatively weak Feral Mole Beast Form and all of the other moles had immediately fawned over him and submitted themselves gladly to him.

He got his underground search team of twenty three-meter tall moles raring to go within two short minutes of reaching the mole’s nest.

“Now that they’re gone in twenty different directions, there’s only one more direction which isn’t covered.” Elliot thought to himself as he began digging. “Downwards!”

However, he had barely traveled five meters when a chorus of shouts rang out in his mindspace.

“BOSS! I FOUND IT!” Cried an ecstatic mole.

“Boss! Me too!”

“Me too! Me too!”

“Are you all sure? Don’t just randomly spout nonsense!” Elliot reprimanded them sternly.

“Nono, boss! It’s real! This is exactly what I ate that made me so powerful and so amazing!” Shouted the first mole ecstatically. “And it’s even bigger than the one I ate!”

“Yes handsome and glorious boss. This is also what I ate that made me strong!” Said the second more.

“Alright, all three of you. Bring your stuff here.” Elliot commanded.

“Okay! Here I come!”

“Me first!”

“I’m already here boss! I’m the fastest and the best!”

Elliot sighed. First Red, now the moles. Why can’t all beasts be as cool and collected like Winter or Frosty? Elliot went back to the tribe’s nest and reverted to his human form. He took out some lighting and stuck it onto the nest’s ceiling.

Within a minute, all three moles arrived.

“Here boss!” The third mole shoved a strange looking bone the size of three fingers onto Elliot’s hand.

“A bone?” Elliot frowned.

“Here’s mine boss!” The second mole shoved yet another strange looking bone the size of two fingers to him.

“And here’s mine! Look, mine is the biggest!” The first mole said proudly as he too shoved a fist sized bone to Elliot.

At that moment, more and more moles began to scream excitedly in his mindspace.

All of them claimed to have found exactly what Elliot was asking them to look for!

“Bring them all here.” Elliot commanded in a calm voice that completely hid the excitement that he was feeling deep within.

Within minutes, Elliot was staring at a strange collection of bones. And true enough, with so many gathered, Elliot could distinctly feel that the bones were no ordinary bones. A strange energy and vitality permeated the surrounding of those bones.

“Take one and eat, boss! It’s really good!” The biggest and most powerful looking mole said to him.

Elliot frowned lightly and picked up the smallest bone fragment. He studied it carefully and even sniffed it. But no sense of danger rang out in his soul. It seemed safe to consume.

“Might as well try it.” Elliot thought and popped the bone into his mouth.

Crunch. Crunch. Gulp.

At first, nothing happened.

But after a few seconds, a strange sensation of being very, very alive and very refreshed bloomed from his stomach and filled his body entirely. It lasted for only three seconds before disappearing.

“What??” Elliot was so shocked that he actually shouted out loud!

“What’s wrong boss? Do you not like the taste, boss? Eat mine boss! Mine is better!” A mole immediately responded.

“No, don’t eat his. Eat mine boss! Mine is really big and yummy!”

“Enough. All of you remain silent unless spoken to.” Wu Kong’s voice sounded firmly in the public mindspace.

“Ye-“

“I said enough. Silence.” Wu Kong repeated himself.

And after that, Elliot was able to finally enjoy some silence.

“I should have done that earlier.” A small part of Elliot thought to himself.

However, most of his attention was focused on the small pile of bones that was in front of him.

“Go get me all of the bones you can find. I want every single one within a ten kilometer radius.” Elliot ordered the moles and waved his hand to get them moving.

All of them immediately shot out of the nest without a word and began to look for the bones at full speed.

“Red. When you said you have a way to upgrade my system. What method is that?” Elliot asked.

“Oh. Do you want the short answer or the long answer?” Red asked.

“Short.” Elliot immediately said. Only a food would ask Red to give a long answer.

“Well… A system is basically an energy aide. It contains a seed of energy and a smart aide to help you develop that energy. Of course some systems like yours are connected to a unique dimension which contains various items and spaces the system can withdraw and give you.

To upgrade the system, you simply have to increase the seed energy or introduce a different seed energy which is compatible with the system. Usually the system itself has a predetermined method to upgrade itself.

However, even if there isn’t, you can simply consume an energy seed and upgrade the system forcibly. The aide would no longer be able to accurately quantify everything, but it doesn’t really matter if you’ve unlocked the system cap, right?”

“I see. So the energy seed you’re talking about… It’s Life Energy?”

“Life Energy? No. An Energy Seed is concentrated energy locked within a Seed Rune. I was planning to help you look for a Seed Rune and guide you to make one for yourself. What’s Life Energy? Did you find some?” Red replied curiously.

“I see.” Elliot said as he munched on the bones. “Yeah, I found some. I’ll tell you more later.”
