Speed Is King

“I guess I don’t have a choice but to unleash the power which I got from Second brother. Autumn Rosenbloom, do not say I didn’t give you a chance. You were the one who forced me to use this technique!” Fat Wall smiled sinisterly.

After that, his body began to glow a strange and ominous black light.

A few moments earlier…

“Fifth brother, let me handle the two blue dragons. I heard that they are incredibly powerful. I wonder if their draconic power is mightier or my Nimbus Streaking Sword Art is mightier?” Sixth brother Fast Sword said to Fifth brother Divine Fighter.

“Alright. I’ll let you have fun with the two dragons. I’ll quickly kill this native weakling and stand by to help you if you need it. You owe me one!” Divine Fighter said with a sigh.

“You’re the best, bro! Hahaha!” Fast Sword immediately exploded into action and attacked the two blue dragons!

“Kill him quickly and come back to support me. I can deal with him by myself.” Elliot told the dragons.

They nodded and quickly engaged Fast Sword in a swirling battle that would leave anyone watching breathless at the sheer power and speed in which they fought.

Elliot held Gilgamar on his right hand calmly, and and prepared himself for what could be the fight of his life.

He was not wrong in the least.

Divine Fighter drew his ominous black sword and smiled sinisterly at Elliot before bursting into an attack that was so fast he left afterimages behind him.

CLANG!

Elliot reacted by instinct and managed to parry his first attack.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

“Lucky I started distributing stat points into Reflexes!” Elliot thought as he continued to parry Divine Fighter’s rain of sword slashes. “It would be difficult to survive this barrage if my reflexes are any lower! In fact, I should increase more.”

“Hawk! Get me the largest Mystery Boxes available and spend all but 200 points on it. Allocate all attribute points to Reflexes!” Elliot shouted to Hawk the AI.

[Acknowledged.]

Almost immediately, everything around Elliot began to slow down quite significantly. And most importantly, in his perspective, Divine Fighter’s initially blinding fast sword attacks became much, much slower too!

Elliot grinned widely to himself and began to earnestly counter attack.

“The fourth movement! The wind blows where it wills, invisible to the eye. Formless. All-encompassing. Take this!” Elliot entered the now extremely familiar opening stance of the fourth movement and launched a ferocious triple-thrust at Divine Fighter.

Elliot’s seemingly simple triple-thrust dragged an unbelievable amount of natural energy into the attack and it was like a sledgehammer the size of a mountain but with razor sharp points smashing towards Divine Fighter.

BRAAAAKKKKKKKKKKKKK BAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!

Divine Fighter narrowed his eyes at the monstrous amount of energy being sent smashing his way and exploded with his own behemothic counter attack!

Whatever could be said of Divine Fighter, he was well and truly at the Emperor level, and as such, he had a massive qualitative advantage over Elliot.

Divine Fighter easily blocked Elliot’s monstrous attack, and the resulting dispersal of energy flattened all of the trees within a three kilometer radius.

Both of them leapt backwards as though they had agreed on it and began to study the other with newfound respect in each of their eyes.

“You’re incredibly strong.” Divine Fighter finally said. “You’re probably the strongest King level fighter I’ve ever had to fight with.”

“You’re quite strong yourself. But… I wonder how strong you are compared to THAT Emperor…” Elliot said half contemplatively.

Divine Fighter smiled and then sheathed his sword.

“Don’t draw conclusions on my strength just yet. What you just experienced was merely my probing attack. My real specialty lies not in swords… But in unarmed physical combat! Human, prepare to meet your maker!” Divine Fighter sneered lightly and then unleashed a towering pillar of golden Emperor energy which rose magnificently around him.

Elliot smiled grimly at the sight of Divine Fighter’s imposing power and unleashed his own Purgatory Fire Energy in response.

ROAR!!

An equally imposing burst of flames erupted around Elliot. However, strangely and far more impressively than Divine Fighter’s Pillar of Energy, Elliot’s Purgatory Fire Energy took the form of a ferocious Red Dragon!

“What? Energy Manifestation? At the King level?? Impossible!” Divine Fighter gasped. The Pillar of Energy around him wavered very slightly as a bout of confusion and disbelief wracked his heart. However, he quickly calmed his thoughts.

“Energy Manifestation or not, you’re still at the King level. You will die all the same, buried here with your talents!” Divine Fighter roared in jealousy and burst forward towards Elliot once more.

The magnificent pillar surged forward and clashed with the majestic red dragon.

BAAAAAMMMMMMM!!!!!!

A massive explosion filled with a destructive burst of energy erupted in all directions.

“GOOD! VERY GOOD! You’re the first one to be able to fight against me on even footing after I reached Emperor level! Go on! Show me all you’ve got! HAHA!” Divine Fighter unleashed punch after punch and kick after kick upon Elliot.

Slowly but surely, his towering pillar of golden energy began to grow even bigger and more intense.

However, Elliot was no slouch as well. He brandished Gilgamar skillfully and was even able to resist Divine Fighter’s many punches and kicks using just his sword! Like Divine Fighter, the red dragon energy that manifested around him began to grow bigger and stronger too.

But unlike Divine Fighter, the red dragon energy also began to show signs of vitality. It’s scales began to sharpen in form and an aura of indomitable might began to form around it.

BA-DUMP.

At first, both Elliot and Divine Fighter dismissed the sound as inconsequential.

But after the third consecutive sound, both of them realized that it came from Elliot’s red dragon energy!

BA-DUMP!

BA-DUMP!

It was the red dragon energy’s heartbeats!

“Energy Awakening?!?! Impossible! Impossible!! Not even Second brother could do that!!” Divine Fighter shouted.
