Chapter 730 Jin
"Alright, how about this... So that I have something to do on our trip to the Giant Country, I take a couple of requests that have been lingering around and then start working on them on the ship? It's only going to take a few hours, at most." The old man suggested, looking at Girland right in front of him. The Country Core Guardian looked back at Eisen and slowly nodded her head.
"If that is what his Majesty wishes, then that is so. We will prepare for certain requests to be received. Please, make your way to the ship for now, however." The Guardian asked of Eisen, but the old man slowly shook his head, "Sorry, but I don't think that's going to be possible. If I want to make a good item, I need to be able to see the people in question. Talk to them, interact with them a bit, you see?"
Girland slowly closed her eyes and nodded her head, "Understood. Then we will prolong the start of the trip for a few hours. However, we will need to start immediately."
The moment she said this, Serio appeared next to Girland and quickly created a portal for Eisen to step through, "Thanks. Then I guess let's get this started." Eisen replied bluntly, and stepped through the portal with a soft smile on his face. The other side of that gate led him to the place where the Dungeon stood before, but instead, there was just a small stall now.
And Eisen quickly stood behind that stall, as Girland swiftly announced the situation. Immediately, numerous people formed a row in order to get the chance to get one of Eisen's items. However, it was capped at 100, and Girland didn't let anyone join the queue anymore after that.
One by one, everyone explained the concept of the item they wanted to Eisen, the old man took a few skills from the person in question to make sure it would be perfect, and then of course noted down anything of importance.
However... Most of the people were rather boring. Their concepts ended up being 'I want a strong sword', or 'I want a shield that can't be destroyed'. Rather basic stuff, although Eisen would still be able to make them something unique through the information he got from them.
But soon, there was one individual that was slightly different from the others. Instead of being a bit nervous, rude, or entitled like many other customers, this one was especially bright. And they were one of the few with an interesting occupation and race as well.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtIt was a young woman called 'Jin', and she was a Blade Dancer. Eisen could see that the two daggers that she was currently using had been worn down due to how much she had been using them, but at the same time, they had obviously been cared for pretty well.
As far as Eisen could tell, this young woman was a 'Demon-Beastperson Halfling', and to be more specific, the beastman half was that of a Rabbit. She had a thin, long tail with a fluffy furball at its end, as well as a finger-sized cone-shaped horn in the center of her forehead.
And honestly, even just her bright pink hair and fur made her stick out, and made her much more interesting than many of those basic character models created by other players.
"Now, what sort of item do you want?" Eisen inquired, rather curious about what a young woman like this would want, and she quickly replied, in a bright and cheerful tone, "Well, if it's no trouble, I'd like some daggers! A pair of 'em! One with a bunch of debuff effects, and one that's just super good at hacking stuff apart!" Jin exclaimed with a broad smile on her face.
Eisen raised his brows when he heard the idea, and slowly nodded his head, "Sounds good. Did you have anything specific in mind for how the 'debuff' effects are created, or can I take creative liberty?"
"I'll leave it up to you!" The young woman exclaimed energetically with a broad smile. Eisen looked back at her and slowly nodded his head, "I see. Sounds good. Try and stay in the country for the next few weeks. I'll have someone bring it to you." The old man replied, and then quickly handed Jin a small chip.
"Keep it with you at all times so that we can find you. If you press it onto the back of your left hand, it's going to disappear in there, so you don't need to worry about losing it." Eisen explained swiftly, and Jin curiously looked down at the item.
Without a moment's hesitation, she did as suggested and pressed the chip onto the back of her hand. A lot of other people were rather hesitant about it, since Eisen was literally saying 'With this, we'll know any place you'll be for the next few weeks'.
But in the end, due to the fact that Eisen was who he was, most people didn't seem to mind and ended up following the suggestion, even if not as quickly as Jin here.
"Alright, then the only thing that's missing is a few of your skills. I want to personalize everything as much as I can, so having your element and some of your skills to make use of would be rather helpful in that." Eisen replied.
Jin immediately nodded her head and held her hand forward. It seemed like she already saw this happen a few times before, whether with other craftsmen or just within this queue itself, so she was ready to offer her hand so that Eisen could copy her abilities into some gems and crystals, "Here you go!" She exclaimed with a bright grin on her face.
Eisen slowly nodded his head, and took any skill or ability that he figured would be useful and copied it down into the gems that he had laying next to him, placing them into a box labeled with the information of the customer.
"Then we're done here for now. Thanks for the business. You will be asked for payment once the daggers are done and delivered to you, so don't worry about that. But don't try to run away with the items, you won't ever be able to escape." Eisen said with a casual smile on his face. Usually, it was the kind that made other people shudder.
Basically, Eisen was trying to scare them so that they wouldn't even think of trying to mess with him. However, in the case of Jin, she just quickly nodded her head with a broad smile on her face, the one that she didn't drop for even a moment ever since her and Eisen started talking to each other, "Of course! I wouldn't think of it!"
And with that, the conversation between Eisen and this uniquely energetic girl was over. Eisen placed everything away, and then continued to take requests from other people.
---
Soon enough, Eisen was on the ship. He was inside of his workshop in the Dungeon, and was thinking about which item to work on first during this trip to the Giant Country. Of course, he could always just work on everything in the order that he received the request, but... That seemed kind of boring, honestly.
Rather, he wanted to work on things depending on how interested he was in them. Of course, this might seem like he would end up losing motivation toward the latter items and do a worse job, but... It was Eisen. A mistake like that would never happen to him, ever.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHowever, in this batch, amongst the most interesting items that Eisen wanted to work on were the two daggers, the ones requested by that Demon-Beastperson girl. The items themselves weren't the most interesting idea ever, although still more unique than most other request he had received. The thing that made Eisen want to work on these daggers first was the fact that Jin was such a unique person.
First things first, Eisen worked on the design of the daggers. One of them was supposed to create a lot of debuff effects, while the other was just supposed to do a lot of regular damage.
Meaning, one was going to put out poison and a bit of magic into the damaged enemy, and one was going to do simple, raw damage. The latter was simple; all that Eisen had to do was make a high-quality item, something with a sharp edge, maybe something that would end up pushing force into the enemy to cause some extra raw damage.
The former, however, was a bit more complicated than that. First of all, there had to be some sort of source for poison, maybe a way for Jin to customize what exactly was used. And in the end, Eisen chose to create a hollow handle that Jin could put poison-capsules into. Poison that would then spread out through thin, tiny tubes within the dagger and coat the edge in a precise, direct manner.
And beside that, maybe he could create some enchantments and place a few gems into the blade itself that would also create similar effects to actual poison.
Just like that, Eisen got to work. Creating the actual bases of the daggers was rather simple. He used steel mixed with a few special gems infused with the things that he needed, including the ones holding Jin's personal element. One of them got a few extra gems and magics connected to causing high damage and cutting things apart, while the other one got mostly abilities based on poisons, restraint, and debuffs into it.
The metal for the latter dagger itself seemed like it would make Eisen weaker just touching it, as if it was emitting a toxic aura. Meaning, it was already perfect for the item that Eisen was trying to make.
After shaping everything properly, with the debuff-dagger getting a bit more of a rigged edge to open and rip up flesh so that more poison could enter, Eisen created the handles.
The handle for the debuff-dagger was hollowed out and received a small gem that would increase its weight depending on what was placed into it. Balance was important for weapons like this, and depending on how much poison was placed into the hollow handle, the balance would change. This gem was added to make up for that.
After the handles were done, Eisen started to enchant the blades properly, setting the gems into the metal while carefully creating the thin tubes within the debuff-blade.
As soon as Eisen was done, he tested them out. He cut his finger with the debuff-blade, and immediately got a rather big stat-penalty. His body felt sluggish, at least compared to before, and his movements generally slowed down.
Once Eisen took an antidote for all of this, he tried the second one out. It was able to cut into Eisen's skin with ease, and did more damage than it should just based on the physical aspect of it alone.
All in all, these two daggers were an absolute success.
