"Sooo, that is the well-hidden treasure you believe is the most important?" Aurora asked in her shrill voice, doubting Kyle's intelligence for the first time.
Her full attention was on the picture right in front of her. It was a simple picture that didn't release the slightest mana fluctuations.
There were not even signs of another energy. It was just a normal drawing of a forest, right next to a riverside, nothing else.
But Kyle smiled, ignoring the little Sprite, who was lying on Arashi's fur, cuddling with his Spirit Soul.
It looked like Arashi and Aurora had become good friends in the last three days. That was great, but Aurora's impatience was not exactly helpful.
"The picture looks good, but it is nothing I could be bothered about." Kyle merely said before picking up the picture.
On its back were runes inscribed, isolation runes, to be precise, and upon being removed the energy that had been isolated from the outside world was finally released.
A wave of the three cultivation energies splashed in everyone's face, while a seemingly ordinary-looking stone bowl entered their view.
The stone bowl was lying inside a small square hole in the wall, and it was obvious that it had been hidden away. However, Kyle could find it, which was why he picked it up before storing it inside his storage ring.
"We can research it later, let's focus on plundering." Kyle merely said, trying to end the topic right there, turning around.
Unfortunately, not only Aurora was curious but also Selene and Yasmine looked at him with nosy expressions.
"Then…let's take a look at it while moving around, at least, okay?" Kyle gave up within seconds.
He knew that it was not helpful to argue against two women and a tiny Aurora. They would only be annoyed, distract him, and make things more difficult.
Kyle prevented this by removing the stone bowl from his spatial ring before he threw it toward Yasmine.
"I think it's an energy storage. Similar to a mana pool, just for all energies." Kyle simply said, sharing what he had perceived with his nurture ability's eyesight and what he concluded from the facts he got to know.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtYasmine was immediately interested, and Aurora moved to the side of the fiery halfling phoenix. Yasmine was the most knowledgeable in their group but this was only logical.
Her background was a lot different from everyone else present, and she had been taught a lot from a young age.
That was why she might be able to find out more about the bowl than Selene, or even Aurora, who had gained many useful memories about the Ancient treasury's dimension.
However, Kyle couldn't make much use of Aurora's memories because there were too many places he wanted to go within the treasury's dimension.
Forcing the girls to speed up, Kyle moved rapidly through the city. He looked through quite a few places, and found numerous treasures, several recipes for potions, blueprints for weapons, and a few rather old, but high-ranked weapons.
They could be used up to the Acerta stage because they were of high quality or sold for a hefty price.
However, Kyle merely stored everything. After they passed through a warehouse with numerous hidden spots, including one where they found a sword hilt that could only manifest its blade when used with fire-attributed mana, they left to a different place.
After finding the unique sword hilt, Yasmine's attention was immediately captured by it. She gave Selene the stone bowl, just for it to end up at Kyle when Selene found a pretty unique close combat technique in bulk of books in a small hidden library.
"I knew we would find a treasure there… A darkness combat technique, pretty good!" Kyle mumbled, looking proud as if everything went according to his plan.
There didn't seem to be much else to use, but when Aurora moved to a well-hidden spot, Kyle's head immediately followed her flying trajectory.
"You found something interesting?" He immediately asked, jumping after Aurora, who had disappeared in the hollow corner of two connected shelves.
"I think so. But not sure. It's just a single book." Aurora's muffled voice came from the well-hidden corner, where she had disappeared to.
"Can you bring it out, or will it be necessary for me to use force?" Kyle inquired, just to hear the exhausted voice of Aurora, and he heavy breathing.
"I..it's…fine…" She could barely say before an entire minute of heavy breathing passed. Only then was Kyle finally able to see Aurora's head emerging from the corner of the room, her small body carrying a thick book.
Kyle picked it up the moment his hand reached it, and Aurora let it go a moment later, slumping to the ground, exhausted.
'Heavy…' That was Kyle's first thought as he felt the weight of the book in his hand.
After a few seconds, he finally got the book out of the hollow corner between the two shelves.
A thick tome entered his view and the picture of wings in various colors.
There were green, fiery red, watery blue, and earthy brown wings, but also dark wings, wing holy white wings.
This attracted his interest almost immediately, and his heart began to beat wildly when he finished reading through the first page.
"A movement technique with which one can create wings as long as one possesses an affinity…that is, amazing…"
Not even Cultivators at the Acerta stage were able to fly. Aerial beasts and races were able to fly, as also wind affinity user. However, wings were still more advantageous than Kyle and Arashi's way to stay high in the air.
Thus, the technique called [Wings of Ilusia] was more than just a bit interesting. It got even better when he figured that the movement technique was a combination of an acceleration and a speed-boosting technique.
His acceleration would skyrocket, and his maximum speed would increase as well.
This was more than Kyle could wish to find today, and it would certainly be useful to be learned combined with the Tempest Shirana Warlock technique.
"That's perfect!!" Kyle mumbled before his head turned to Yasmine.
"What do you think about the second pair of wings, just that the second pair will be purely made out of your phoenix fire?" He teased, smiling brightly.
'Wind and lightning attributed wings are the fasted, boosting both acceleration and the maximum speed the most. Meanwhile, fire wings have an extremely high burst acceleration….amazing.' Kyle thought while continuing to read the book. It was truly interesting.
Meanwhile, Yasmine and Selene could only look at Kyle before their head in each other's direction. With a faint smile on their lips, it was as if they got the exact same idea as they said.
"Kyle, no time to waste, we have many more places to go!!"
"Don't waste our precious time. Look at the tome when we're out!"
Both were teasing him, but Kyle got the gist.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"I got it." He merely said, still smiling, when he stored the tome about the Wings of Ilusia.
There was no time to lose, and Kyle knew that. He rushed through the buildings, avoided coming close to any kind of living being by making a detour, and he looted numerous treasures.
Kyle had long lost count of how many well-hidden treasures they had picked up. There were many, more than enough to make everyone look envious at them if they were to know about the number of invaluable treasures they had gotten their hands on.
However, Kyle was still not satisfied. Despite his greed, which was growing seemingly without limit, Kyle could tell that it was time to go.
It was late at night, and he saw a batch of well-hidden treasures he wanted to get but too many Lohars were near this area. He could tell that the situation would escalate once again, the moment he was to find one of these treasures.
'I cannot afford to kill the Lohars so close to the portal out of the dimension. We wouldn't be able to escape!'
This was quite obvious, and more than enough reason for Kyle to suppress his greed.
"We got more than enough, don't feel too upset. Our profits are immense, far more than we need!" Selene said, reassuring him that everything would be fine.
Kyle was thankful for that but it was not necessary. He had not lost himself in his greed yet.
In a matter of half an hour, they reached the Pagoda where everyone had emerged when they first entered the Ancient treasury's dimension.
"Let's just change our clothes quickly. Even if it's unlikely for anyone to be able to tell that it's the blood of a Lohar, let alone a noble, we should make sure that nobody finds out about it." Yasmine suddenly said.
Kyle nodded his head before changing his clothes within a minute. Yasmine and Selene took a little bit longer but they didn't waste any time either.
Once everyone was ready, they took a deep breath to calm down their racing heart before they stepped through the large portal they had emerged from.
Nausea overcame them but Kyle used his nurture ability to invigorate everyone and to tend to their nausea.
"Finally out!!" Aurora screamed out the moment she emerged from the portal.
However, just as she screamed out in excitement, Kyle covered her mouth before pocketing her in his mantle.
"Little girl, how about you keep quiet? We don't want to attract too much suspicion." He merely said, before he noticed that Aurora had quieted down.
"Sorry…I was just so happy…" She mumbled, causing Kyle to caress her little head.
"Let's catch Beatrice, and then we go!"
