Artemis was enraged at first, but he instantly huffed a gnarly laugh when he heard his sons scolding

him. Are they angry at me because I haven't married their mom, and that's why Susan was said to be

an illegitimate child? God knows how badly I want to marry that woman. However, it isn't time yet.

“Fine. I admit I'm a jerk. It's all my fault your mommy had to go through countless hardships over the

a way to stop your sister from crying,” Artemis said.

his daughter. This heartwarming scene is beyond all I can ask for. God has truly given the greatest

blessing to me by giving me two sons and a daughter. How am I supposed to repay that woman? I

Gradually, Susan stopped crying. She then pushed her brothers aside and tugged at the corner of

Artemis' shirt. While looking up at him, she uttered in a hoarse voice, “Daddy.”

Artemis' body trembled, and he was stunned for a few seconds. The moment he regained his senses,

he glanced at Susan joyfully and stammered, “What did you just call me, Sweetheart? Do you mind

repeating yourself?”

Susan smiled and repeated herself.

Artemis felt his heart thumping, and the sense of family rose from within his body.

He then leaned forward to carry Susan up and fiercely kissed her delicate cheeks. After that, he shifted

his gaze toward Zayron.

The little boy snorted and called out, “Arty.”

Artemis was rendered speechless. If he were somebody else's kid, I would definitely send him to

Tarragon's training base to teach him a lesson.

Meanwhile, Bailey went around the square to look for the kids, but she couldn't find any of them.

Instead, she bumped into Lionel.

“Hi, Mr. Gezmond. It's been a long time,” she greeted.

Lionel flashed a faint smile in response. “It has. What a surprise! I didn't expect to see you at such an

event, Ms. Jefferson.”

Instead of responding to him, Bailey shifted her gaze toward the woman he was holding arms with. She

then raised her brows and asked, “You're Ms. Wendy, right? As expected of the Hoffman family's eldest

daughter. With Mr. Gezmond by your side, you guys look like a match made in heaven.”

Wendy smiled at Bailey and teased, “Instead of addressing me as Ms. Wendy, I think it's better if you

address me as Mrs. Gezmond, Ms. Jefferson.”

Bailey nodded slightly and flashed a half-smile. “Ms. Wendy, in the name of love, you've turned your

family away. It's admirable to see you sacrifice so much. Indeed, I should address you as Mrs.

Gezmond.”

“You...” Wendy was pissed off. However, she quickly pulled herself together. “I need to thank you for

taking care of my sister over the years, Ms. Jefferson. Now that she's with me, you won't need to worry

about her anymore.”

Bailey's gaze glinted darkly when Wendy mentioned Juliana. That girl doesn't understand my

intentions. She only severed our relationship because she was afraid of causing trouble. Unbeknown to

her, Zeke belongs to a different world. No matter how hard they try, their relationship will not work out.

“Well, it's all right. As her sister, advise her, will you? The Hoffman family might accept one of the

answered.

“Hi, Lionel and Wendy! You guys are here!” A melodious voice rang out from somewhere nearby.

Everyone turned toward the voice and saw Zoey walking over to them while holding a little girl's hand.

Bailey didn't want to deal with them any longer, so she turned around and was about to leave.

As soon as she had taken one step forward, she heard the little girl Zoey had brought along asking,

“Are you Susan's mom? The illegitimate child.”

Bailey halted in her tracks when she heard the girl calling Susan an illegitimate child.

She then slowly turned around and narrowed her eyes to glare at the little girl. With a frown, she asked,

“Who taught you those words?”

“Isn't she Mr. Simon's illegitimate child? How dare she snatch the Best Child Actor Award with me?

Hmph! I wonder where did she run off to after we made fun of her. By the way, she dirtied my skirt. You

ought to compensate me!” Arethea pursed her lips and snorted coldly.

Bailey let out a light chuckle, but there was no warmth in her expression. There was a tint of

melancholy in her eyes. “Although my daughter is an illegitimate child, she's still way better than a rude

child like you.”

Prior to that, Bailey thought it wouldn't matter much if Susan could land the Best Child Actor Award.

However, she changed her mind. Not only must she get the award, but she must also receive it with

pride.

“Ms. Jefferson, Arethea is just a child. Don't you think what you said is uncalled for?” Shirley uttered.

“Arethea was just telling the truth. Your daughter is, in fact, an illegitimate child. The Luther family

When she got onto the stage and reached out both her hands to receive the award, the host smiled

All of a sudden, the deafening applause at the scene subsided, and everyone was focusing on what

was happening on the stage.

Rose wasn't fazed. She flipped her blond and curly hair before smiling charmingly. “Well, I'm here to

receive the award.”

The host cleared his throat and uttered in an awkward tone, “Ms. Rose, this year's Best Actress award

isn't yours.”

The moment those words fell, the smile on Rose's face faded, and she was stupefied.

The silence that ensued was deafening.

Similar to Rose, the crowd was just as stunned. Is Rose not the recipient of the Best Actress award?

Ha! Why is she up there, then? She's embarrassing herself!

The awkwardness lasted for a good ten seconds. After that, Rose smiled and said, “You must've made
