Chapter 569 Bailey Is Going Down

Inside Holden's study, Artemis was leaning against the French windows as he asked mildly, “How's the job going?

What did they say after you brought up my suggestion?”

Holden walked over with two glasses of whiskey and passed one to Artemis. “I invited you over to tell you all about

it. Yvette has agreed to return and wait for the wedding, but she specifically requested that you show up and send

her off. She wants to make sure her pride is fed.”

She agreed so quickly and even asked me to go back to Tarragon to send her off? Things are going so smoothly.

Artemis smirked. “It seems like we've made the right choice. Go back and get rid of everyone who went against me.

I don't waste my time on rebels. It's time to clean Tarragon from the inside out.”

“That may be true, but there's most likely a huge storm waiting for you. Everyone knows how haughty Yvette is.

After she set her sights on you, she gave up on Micah completely. That's more than enough to show how prideful

and shallow she is. If not, she wouldn't have agreed to this marriage.”

“That doesn't matter. I want to see them attack. Things will be harder if they don't.”

Holden nodded. “Then I'll tell Yvette that you agreed to go send her off. When are you planning to leave? Bailey

seems to be in hot soup lately. Would you be able to step away?”

Artemis fell silent for a second as he thought about it. “I'd prefer to completely get rid of the hidden threats first.

While Bailey may be caught in the storm, she's not in too much danger yet. Plus, Zeke is in Hallsbay, and he won't

let anything happen to his sister. I'll return as soon as possible after I get rid of the person who's trying to force me

and Bailey apart. That way, we'll be safe from harm.”

“Alright. I'll go arrange that right now.”

The news of Jadeborough sending investigators to look into Bailey's case quickly spread like wildfire in Hallsbay.

Some people pitied her, but most of them wanted to see her fall.

She was so talented and blessed. Most importantly, she even had Artemis by her side. Hence, there were a lot of

people who were jealous of her. If she died, they would all be really delighted.

“The news of Bailey embezzling the donations must have been proven true, or they wouldn't have sent

investigators to check.”

“She talked about the organization helping loads of unfortunate students before. Why isn't anyone coming out to

speak up for her? If one or two were just ungrateful, that would make more sense, but she must have sponsored a

lot of them.”

“What? Don't joke. Do you think someone like her would spend her money on some hillbillies from the village? All

the donations she received were used to purchase damaged goods that factories discarded. She's literally the Devil

reincarnated. In all my years of living, I've never seen someone as evil as this scheming bit*h!”

“Let's just wait for the conclusion of the investigation.”

“You're right. Let's just wait and see. I'll be ready with popcorn at home to see Bailey truly be destroyed once and

for all.”

In the West residence's study room, Jacques was looking at Howard cautiously. “This visit was so sudden that I didn't

have the time to prepare anything for you. Would you like to stay for dinner since you have dropped by?”

“Come on, Jacques. We've known each other for how long now? I may have been transferred to Jadeborough, but

there's no need to act so formally with me.”

Jacques let out a sigh of relief and said with a smile, “You're right. I've been in this position for so long that I've

become a coward. When I heard that you were coming to Hallsbay, I couldn't sleep out of excitement.”

Howard laughed out loud after hearing that. “Alright, let's get back to the main topic. I heard that Bailey was the

cause of what happened to Chloe. How have you not taken revenge yet?”

Jacques' expression darkened at that reminder.

Chloe was his only daughter and he had placed all of his aspirations for her on her shoulders. Her marrying into a

rich and prestigious family had all been part of the plan to pull off a perfect political marriage.

If she could get married to Artemis, Jacques would definitely be able to get transferred to Jadeborough and climbed

up further on the social ladder.

All his hopes and dreams had died on the hill named Bailey, so how could he just forgive her so easily?

“I will be very soon. I've been planning on talking to you about it. You've probably come to Hallsbay for the same

reason, yes?”

“Haha!” Howard chuckled. “You're becoming really quick on your feet recently. Since we work together so well, how

about we become allies?”

Jacques' face broke out into a big smile.

He would never forgive Bailey for what she did. No matter what he tried, he would make sure to run her to the

ground.

Now that Howard was on his side, it would be more than easy to get rid of her by his hand.

“Okay. Go ahead with your investigation. I can guarantee that you'll be able to dig up all incriminating evidence I

can get my hands on.”

“That's what I want to hear! After all, you are the driving force behind Hallsbay. I need you on my side to help me. If

not, I'd be useless here regardless of my position.”
