Chapter 594 They Are Eager To Strike
In the city of Musbane at Thymion, there was a primeval forest at the southwestern border where a huge complex
of buildings was erected.
Located in the heart of a mountain range, it was a highly secluded area.
While most people knew that the forest was full of dangers, nobody knew that the headquarters of the biggest
underground organization in the world, Tarragon, was located right there.
In the main hall of the main building, a tall, slender figure stood before the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing silently at
the night view outside.
“Leader, Mr. Doyle has requested to see you.”
The man standing before the window hummed lightly in response, and the bodyguard at the door quietly retreated.
Not long after, a white-haired old man entered.
“Leader,” Dominic greeted the figure standing at the window, bowing his head slightly. Despite his humble posture,
there was no sign of such humility on his face.
The leader of Tarragon, Artemis, turned around slowly, his gaze falling on the old man.
He was wearing a mask that concealed most of his face, making his facial expression indiscernible.
“Yes?”
Dominic said softly, “Some of the former leader's comrades heard that Her Royal Highness is getting married soon
and have all hurried back to the headquarters. They also came to know that you have returned and are planning to
host a banquet for you. What do you think about it?”
Raising his brows slightly, Artemis asked with a half-smile, “Do I have to attend it?”
With that, Dominic fell silent.
Of course, he would have to make an appearance! If he stays in the headquarters all the time, how are we going to
erase his memory and control him?
“Although Mr. Sullivan is no longer with us, his subordinates are spread out across the whole organization, and his

for you.”
“Fine, then. In that case, I'll attend it. However, I should be the one hosting this banquet. Please tell the others that I
will serve them in the banquet hall of the headquarters tomorrow and that everyone is invited to attend.”
Dominic narrowed his eyes slightly.
Attend a banquet in the headquarters? But it would be difficult for us to make our move then. We wouldn't have as
many opportunities to do so either.
“Uh...”
Noticing his hesitation, Artemis cocked his brows and responded with a smile, “What's wrong? Would they be
unwilling to attend a banquet that I personally host? This is my territory, and as the master, isn't it only right that I
invite my subordinates to a banquet? Or did you guys have ulterior motives for wanting to host a banquet for me,
such as... setting a trap?”
Shuddering, Dominic immediately fell to one knee, explaining frantically, “No, we wouldn't dare! How would we
dare to harm you, Leader? If you intend to host a banquet, we would only be honored to attend it. I will pass the
word to them right away.”
With that, he stood upright shakily and bowed deeply to Artemis before leaving the room.
A mocking look flashed across Artemis' eyes as he gazed at the back of Dominic's retreating figure.
Are they finally getting impatient and can't wait to strike? Good!
He had been waiting for five days and had begun to feel rather impatient himself. If they still did not make their
move, he was ready to return to Hallsbay on his private jet.
That woman must need me a lot right now.
At the medical base in Hallsbay, Bailey was studying the ultrasound scan in her hand, her delicate brows furrowed
deeply.
Although she had heard about Caridee's condition from Zain, she had not known that it was so serious.
The tendons in her arm are all completely severed. How could we possibly restore them? Looks like it's simply
within Veikko's fate to owe her an arm. Hopefully, he would be willing to repay her with the rest of his life, or
Caridee would be truly heartbroken.
“What's wrong? Is her condition really bad?”
Edmund's gentle voice drifted to her ears, jolting her back to her senses.
Bailey looked sideways instinctively, finally noticing Edmund, who had just appeared by her side.
“Yes, it's a little tricky. Even if I treat her myself, the chances of her recovery are barely thirty percent.”
“Just let nature take its course. Don't give yourself too much pressure. She insisted on following Veikko to Gregan
and risked her life to take the bullet for him. It was ultimately her own choice. While you're feeling sorry for her, she
might actually be happy with the decision she made.”
Letting out a chuckle, Bailey tossed the medical report onto the desk and said lightly, “You're right. She's probably
happy she did it since it's for the man she loves, and her heart's possibly bursting with joy right now. All right, then,
I'll listen to you and won't dwell on it anymore.”
Edmund smiled, shaking his head. “Finally, you're listening to me. By the way, what do you plan to do about
Scarlett?”
Scarlett...
Bailey sighed soundlessly. There was nothing she could do when Raiden was stuck in between them.
“I've handed the evidence to Raiden, so it's up to him what he does with it. I can tolerate the fact that he wants to
save his sister's life, but that woman should be sentenced to life imprisonment. If he can't even do that, then I
would have no choice but to personally submit the backup evidence to the high court myself.”
Edmund nodded. “Yes, she will likely receive a life sentence. You're being as magnanimous as you can possibly be.
The rest is up to the Fletcher family.”
Bailey stood there in silence for a moment before turning to head to the lab. “I'm still working on developing the
drug for fighting uterine cancer. Vero needs it desperately. Please let me know at once if there are any updates

The moment he heard her mention the word “mother-in-law,” a bitter smile rose to Edmund's lips.
It seemed to be reminding him of the cruel fact that he had no right to yearn for this woman anymore, as she was
now the daughter-in-law of his aunt and the wife of his cousin.
Ah! She's truly my cousin's wife now!
In the suite of a hotel, Scarlett was nestled in Tamara's arms, crying miserably.
“M-Mom, they fabricated the evidence and framed me. You have to help me. Please help me, or else they will only
end up destroying my life!”
Tamara furrowed her brows. Instead of comforting Scarlett like she usually did, she stated, “Lettie, stop pretending
and covering up. I know everything. Your brother has concrete evidence of your crime. Once he hands it to the
court, even the Fletcher family won't be able to save you.”
Scarlett's sobs halted abruptly. She stared at her mother blankly and asked rather dazedly, “Y-You believe the
evidence?”
“Some of it was provided by the government, such as the statement by the Department of Transportation. How
could I not believe it?”
Scarlett's face instantly turned ashen. Knowing that she had no way to hide the truth anymore, she could only play
the pity card.
“Mom, I know I was wrong, but the truth is that Bailey is simply too much! I wanted to get rid of her not just
because of Justin, but more importantly, I did it for Raiden's sake. You don't want him to marry Bailey either, do
you?”
Tamara sighed helplessly. “It's true that I wanted to deal with Bailey, but you shouldn't have used such extreme
methods. Look at the mess you've made now. How do you expect me to help you? You should turn yourself in.
Maybe you can still keep your life then.”
“No!” Scarlett pushed her mother away firmly. With reddened eyes, she shrieked at the top of her voice, “Mom, if I
turn myself in, I will surely be sentenced to life imprisonment! Do you really want to see me spending the rest of my
life in a prison cell? No, I won't let that happen! I beg you, Mom. Please help me. I know you must have a way!”
Having said that, she slid down from the couch, kneeling before Tamara.
